August 2004 A very relaxing place to stay, nice and quiet but still central for exploring the Peak District. Facilities were great, showers clean, washing area included a recycling point, a free freezer for freezing ice packs and even a microwave. The site was out of town but still easy to find, we used Buxton as a base, it has a train station and cheap parking. We spent a day in Sheffield which can be reached via train via New Mills (short walk to other station). Plenty of water / bins and the pitches were large and clearly marked. The site is divided into small areas by hedges and dry stone walls. Plenty of local flora and fauna to look at, site is well drained. Highly recommended.

August 2004 An excellent site - does what it says on the tin!
Clean, tranquil, surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Just one comment though, perhaps the grass could be collected when it is mowed (frequently) as everywhere is covered in grass cuttings and this makes the communal areas as well as your living area very messy. Otherwise fantastic!

August 2004 Just returned from our second visit to Longnor Wood.
Can't fault the place, nice and quiet, even though it looked quite busy, it never felt it.
Paul, Lindsey, Joe, Edith and Millie are all very friendly.
The site is well located for a lot of Southern Peak District Attractions including Alton Towers, the Tissington and High Peak Trails, the Manifold Way and many more.
Had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back again.

July 2004 As a regular have to agree with much of what has been said.We have visited the site for a number of years (3rd owners) and it has improved steadily with each incumbent. The charming Lindsey and Paul ably assisted by Joe and Mrs Joe are working at the moment under difficulties following Paul's motorcycling accident.Hopefully he is now on the mend after several ops.The reception by Lindsey and the back-up given by Mr & Mrs Joe are worthy of appreciation. The site itself and its situation are tranquility itself. HRH got a hole in 1 at the 8th so everyone is happy!!

July29th-Auguist 1st 2004 Thanks Lindsay and Paul for a lovely stay on your super caravan and camping park. Sorry it was only short but this is one site we shall definitely be returning to. It's so peaceful and in beautiful surroundings. We were delighted with this area of England it's so picturesque, if you have never been before it's a must! The site itself is so well laid out and planned. The amenities very clean and everything you could need is there including a microwave. Hope all who visit enjoy the place as much as we did and we shall be back next year.

July 04 After reading all the other reviews, I was slightly worried that I would be disappointed. I wasn't. Fantastic adults only campsite. Quiet, excellent for walking, lovely village close by, very friendly & helpful owners. Will be going back ASAP.

July 2004 This was our first time camping for many years and I don't think there could have been a better introduction.
A beautiful site set in lovely countryside with some stunning views.
The facilities were clean and tidy and never too busy!.
The staff/owners were friendly and helpful but not over-intrusive.
The best thing about this site though is the peace and quiet, definately a place to go and 'get away from it all'.
I cannot recommend this site well enough, but I just hope it doesn't get too popular and busy ;O)

May/june 04 My boyfriend and I had a lovely break here, we went on recommendation from a friend and we had a great time. A lovely walk to the village where there are 3 pubs within a stones throw from each other, my boyfriend thought he had died and gone to heaven!! They had a craft shop with a tea room and very yummy home made cakes at reasonable prices. The site was very clean, there was a room to freeze your freezer blocks and a micowave. A badminton net and a crazy golf / putting green, this was all free and great fun. Many nice walks near by, I'd recommend the roaches it was very pretty. We will be returning again soon, it was great, I would highly recommend it.

17/6/04 Just spent a lovely weekend here, great site, spacious pitches, grass neat with borders left for the wild flowers, looks lovely. There were lots of fresh water stand pipes around the site approx. every other pitch. It is in a great spot fantastic views & good walking area, though we did not have a dog there are good arrangements for walking a dog. They have some nice looking statics for hire & the facilities for tents inc. a microwave. Will definatly be going again. Lilian
