Lovely peaceful site.
Set up in sort block areas separated by big trees; one for lodges, caravan, tents - whilst it seemed large each section was personable - the tent field is a little sloppy but not too bad.
The facilities are clean and perhaps could get busy but we never queued.
The campers facilities of freezer, microwave, washing machine etc. Were a treat if needed (not sure I would use the iron though lol).
We used this site to get away from it all and it proved just the job - the most quiet night-time site we have every stayed on - slept like a log.
Was odd albeit nice that there were no children and at first we felt we needed to go and borrow a dog as everyone had one lol.
Lovely area in the peaks.

We spent a week at this four star adults only site during the first week of August. It was great not to have the noise of screaming and shouting children to cope with, plus no traffic noise either as its so far from a main road.
The site itself is very good, great facilities and John the warden is so very helpful and friendly. We had problems getting a TV signal and John went out of his way to help us (take your own satellite dish, it's the hills!). We ended up buying a Freesat box.
It's very well run and the toilet block is always clean and tidy, no grass cuttings or worse anywhere to be seen whatever time of day you visit - with piped radio 2 to listen to. There is liquid soap for washing always available at every sink (individual sinks also in every toilet cubicle).
As previously mentioned - the views from the massive dog walking field are impressive. The small shop has essentials available including chocolate bars and ice cream. There is a small book library too.
The local pub's are in Longnor which we found too far away to walk to - never managed to find the Cheshire Cheese open when we passed during the day but managed a great pint or two of Buxton Blond in the Three Horseshoes (£3.10 a pint - ouch!). The chip shop/cafe opens at 6.00pm - there will be a queue on opening and costs just under £5.00 for fish and chips to take out.
All in all a great stay and I would recommend staying here - we were assured the TV problem will be better when the region goes digital within next year or two, so in the meantime take playing cards or DVD's with you. We hope to visit again within next 12 months.

It's five years since we last went camping and five years since we went to Longnor Wood. It’s as good as we remembered. Really friendly welcome, great fellow campers (thank you to the lovely couple in the Montana 6 who helped us take the tent down quickly when the rain threatened).
Toilet and shower facilities are spacious and clean and the pitch sizes are really good. Couple this with the beautiful location, the quiet (except for the bird song and the odd cow mooing!), and the chance to watch the rabbits play. Who could beat it?
We will definitely be back.

A lovely site in a beautiful location. What impressed me most about this site was the attention to detail. The toilet/shower blocks were immaculate and well kept with a sink and hand wash in every cubicle. There was even a small freezer for ice blocks and a microwave for warming food available for use FOC. The staff were very friendly and considerate to all our needs and there was lots of local information displayed. The dog walking field on the approach road was very well kept and in a lovely position overlooking rolling fields and countryside. One recommendation is if you fancy eating out go to the Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn in Longnor Village, they do excellent meals which are great value.

Quite simply the best site we've ever stayed on. Lovely facilities, so peaceful without children running around, showers and toilets excellent, beautiful views. Other reviewers have mentioned the well-stocked shop - I was amazed when checking in that they even had an air mattress for another couple who'd lost their bung.
Now if someone could just move the pub nearer to the site (quite a busy road and dangerous to walk up in the dark).

Have just returned from a few days break at this lovely site.
Small, quiet and pretty surroundings.
The shower/toilet block was very clean and good to have a sink in all the loo cubicles too. The showers were hot and powerful.
Owners and staff were helpful and friendly.
Stunning views and amazing country roads!
Local pub, Ye olde Cheshire cheese offered nice surroundings and home cooked food, although did not always open on time and allowed dogs into eating area, which I do not agree with.
Despite the weather not being great for us, we will return to this site.

This is a lovely well kept site with excellent clean facilities and nice helpful staff; loved the fact that each loo cubicle also had its own wash basin and mirror. The site is an adult only site so great if you want somewhere peaceful without kids running around the place. The views are stunning and the surrounding area lovely, we had sunny weather during our visit which was a bonus! The nearby village is very quaint with a few nice pubs, we ate at Ye Old Cheshire Cheese which served average food, however the staff and service were excellent. Bit of a trek to the village but there is a local taxi that can be pre-booked (business cards with phone No available from site office) if you don't fancy the trek back to site after a few beers!
All in all a great site, pity it's not just a teeny weeny bit closer to the village but that wouldn't put us off staying again.

Went to this site in June and it just as described, quiet and peaceful. The owners could not do enough to make our stay comfortable from the time we arrived till we left.
We were taken to our pitch and even given a hand to move our camper.
Showers / toilet block was clean and we never had to wait for the showers. We had a super week despite the wet weather and hope to go back again this year

Very nice campsite. Camping field was lovely and well sheltered from the wind, enclosed by hedging all around.
Good facilities for campers, free coolblock freezer, microwave, washing machine and dryer.
Fantastic dog walking field, alfie loved it lovely meadowgrass bit at the bottom with wild flowers and loads of rabbits!
Only downsides we asked for a large pitch as we have a large tent, the allocated pitch was big enough but only to pitch one way which wasn't ideal and we had to park the car in the car park but it wasn't the end of the world.
Showers a bit lukewarm for me but clean and always one available.
We would return again.

The absolutely stunning views were not able to be seen from the site but a very short walk and you could see it all.
The toilet block is the best I have come across, always spotless and of a very high standard. There is a shop area in the reception which is well stocked to get one out of trouble etc. The staff were extremely polite and attentive and always seemed to be doing something toward the maintenance of the site when not busy.
As the site is adults only you don't get the constant tearing about and shouting of children during the daytime and evening. We will be using this site again with no hesitation.
