Site is beautifully maintained with large, mostly flat, pitches. Good clean toilet block with plentiful supply of hot water. Covered washing up area most appreciated as the weather during our stay was awful! Paths and roadways well drained (thankfully!).
Good Coffee Shop in Craft Centre and excellent Fish and Chip Shop both in Longnor (village). Also small Grocery Shop in village which sells newspapers.
Close to historic Buxton and Leek for larger shops and restaurants.
Numerous opportunities, weather permitting, for walking in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Last minute booking at Longnor in our motorhome for one night.
Firstly, ignore your satnav when near the site. Your satnav will actually guide you about a mile past the site. Once past Longnor village follow the BROWN campsite signs!
Site very rural in a hilly location. Peaceful setting with wonderful views. £25. 00 for one night on a serviced pitch.
Site had nice ambiance (adults only) and fellow campers on site very friendly and approachable, had a nice feel to it.
Toilet block modern and great idea having lovely spacious toilet cubicles with a sink inside, much nicer than being cramped on the loo as you are on most sites!
Showers hot and ok. Minor gripe for me being of shorter height is that the majority of the water was going out past me and into the dressing area.
Dog walk lovely - not enclosed but huge space and nice of the owners to accommodate us dog owners with such a lovely space.
Would recommend for lovers of peace & tranquillity.

Just returned from a relaxing week at this lovely site. Got a really warm welcome from the staff and were shown to our pitch on the camping field. Yes it is just a field but that's what camping is all about. Site not hard to find if you have a decent map and you will definitely need a map if you want a good view of the Peak District.
Weather was good all week until our last night when the wind and rain set in. The trees offered a small amount of protection but this site is on top of a hill and so is quite open to the elements.
Facilities are clean and modern and were never crowded. Small shop on site selling essentials.
Grass cutting here happens on a Monday. Amazing how so much of it gets into your tent !
This is as near to nature as it gets with a few frills for comfort (loo's, showers etc. )
Buzzards, Robins, Rabbits, seagulls ?? all to be seen outside your tent flap.
We got off the beaten track and used the smallest roads we could find to travel on.
Sleepy little villages with 2 houses, a farm and a pub and perhaps a church or chapel. You will need a good map for this kind of thing and you wont be disappointed at what you find.
All in all a lovely site in a lovely area. Will we go back ?
You bet we will !

This site is in a nice location, quiet and with some lovely views of the surrounding area. However, we were a little disappointed that having visited a few other Tranquil Touring sites this one did not live up to our expectations
Our pitch was very small and we felt on top of the next door motorhome.
The facilities were very untidy due to the wet weather and the amount of grass cuttings that were being brought in by the campers in tents. The wardens/owners did their best to keep on top of it but were fighting a bit of a losing battle!
The owners/wardens were friendly and helpful in giving us information about the local area.
We visited the large second hand book store on the way out of Longnor which is a great place to browse if you are an avid reader.

We spent a week at this site in July in a tent. It is a fantastic site. The owners gave us a lovely welcome and showed us to our pitch. The pitch was very spacious, and we had hard standing next to the pitch for our car.
All facilities are very good. The shower / toilet block was always being cleaned by staff.
There is a lovely field to walk dogs in. Unfortunately we couldn't let our 2 dogs off the lead here as there were loads of rabbits about!
We love this site. It was our 6th visit and we'll be back next year.

Just returned from a 5 night stay. We were close to the toilet block with an EHU but despite the site being full we hardly noticed any people going to the toilet block at all and as others have said there were always showers and wash cubicles free even at peak times, and they were kept spotlessly clean.
The site was very peaceful and relaxing, spoilt slightly by being under the flight path to Manchester airport and during the day planes were going over almost continually. This did not detract from our stay but worth noting as there is low level background noise.
The scenery is stunning. We agree with others that it is too far to walk to the local pub, and being quite high up it did get very chilly at night so did not lend itself to sitting outside with a glass of wine too late. But when the sun was shining it felt like being in the South of France alongside the boule court!
A great site which we would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago and it was our first camping experience! The site is fab and we will definitely return here again and again! Toilets are exceptionally clean, as are showers, and washing area. Management are very friendly and the whole place is very tidy. Didn't use the shop but they seemed to stock anything you would need and were open at reasonable times. Our only disappointment - the weather!
Lognor is also a lovely little village and we visited a tea shop with the most friendly of hosts! Sorry can't remember the name of it, but they have chairs outside and its close to the craft centre, not inside it! Its a very small shop.
We also visited Hartington village which isn't far away and that is lovely too with a couple of pubs.

We arrived in glorious sunshine and the campsite was tucked away in a very secluded spot. This was the second campsite in out 6 day break.
We were warmly greeted by the site managers who were spending time and effort into the hanging baskets and flowers tubs.
Our pitch was sited above the shower/ amenities block which I have to say were perfumed, immaculate and plentiful. The hookups and water supply were close by which was great for once.
The quietness was lovely and much appreciated it was my first time at an adults only site and it was great.
Provisions were running low at the shop and we had very little fresh produce to choose from but in future I will be certain to be more organised when sorting out a 2 place stay. Local knowledge was very good with regards to eateries and places of interest.
The reports from fellow campers had been of high winds causing havoc to awnings and the such like we had no problems during our visit but some areas of the site seemed a little exposed for tents and the such like but there were a few pitches against a wall and sheltered by trees.
The managers were really kind and when my husband asked where the nearest garage was to buy some oil they provided some for him they could not have been more helpful.
This campsite is an ideal base for exploring from; although the cycle track is a good distance away and so for any cycling be prepared for plenty of up hill and down dale. You will need to be a good walker or have vehicle if you want to venture off site to go to a nice pub etc it is one of the drawbacks of having a landrover roof tent.
We will seriously consider this site again in the future even just to see all the flowers in full bloom as the effort put in by the managers is amazing.

Spent a week based at this site and visited the surrounding area. Ideal location within the National Park. Lovely site, relatively level, good sized pitches although could feel crowded when full if the caravans had awnings.
The area I was on was lovely and deep so great for those with tents with parking on the hardstanding. Regular water points. Three showers in the ladies and five or six toilets/privacy booths. All very clean and modern.
Showers nice and powerful, plenty of hooks and a chair in each cubicle. Dish wash room had two sinks, a microwave and a small freezer for the freezer blocks.
Laundry room had a standard household washing machine and tumble dryer. £2 for a wash and 20p for 15 minutes tumble. Also available from here are books, dvds, and games as well as a folder with a number of pamphlets on walks and local attractions. Site shop sold the basics.
The dog walk is brilliant, a large sloping field attached to the site with the most breathtaking views. You could also walk through the wood which cradles the site. Seem to be lots of seasonal vans on the site and the lodges looked lovely.
Loads of birds and rabbits who were quite fearless and came up close to the tents and caravans. Putting green, boules and badminton available with a lovely seating area.
A really pleasant site, ideal as a base for touring but also a great location to chill out and unwind. No mobile signal (unless you are on Orange) and limited tv reception.
Staff friendly and helpful. Must mention the chemical toilet disposal unit, from the outside it is a little summerhouse, complete with lace curtains and planters, inside are two toilets and a washbasin (although the tap for rinsing out is outside) I can only describe it as unique!

Just got back from a weekend at this site - the camping field is great with easy access to toilets / showers / washing-up and freezer and microwave!
There is also a small shop on site too and the gentleman we spoke to on arrival was really friendly and knowledgeable.
There were fours of us in 2 tents and three dogs too - the dogs loved the 'dog field' with the pathway mown through the wild flowers - it was great.
The site is really peaceful and well laid out - plenty of room on the pitches and very well maintained everywhere.
All the people we met were very friendly and the towns of Buxton and Bakewell are within a short drive - which was good considering the weather was awful!
No hesitation at all in returning - a really nice site
