This is a lovely quiet campsite in a lovely surroundings. The site is beautifully kept. The owners are helpful and friendly.
The toilet and shower block is lovely and clean with nice hot showers. We had a service pitch with an ariel point and a tap at the back of our caravan.
Even where you empty the portaloo was a quaint summer house building as not to spoil the surroundings.
Longnor is a lovely village with a nice fish and chipshop and a few pubs. We ate also in a fantastic pub called the Royal Oak at Hurdlow which is just a short car journey away. We have eaten there twice recently and the food is superb. The food is homemade and the portions are generous and the quality is fantastic. You are spoilt for choice on the menu. The staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome.

This is a lovely campsite.
The campsite itself is very quiet and set well away from any roads and noise, other than the sound of the birds! The pitches are of a good size and well spaced out, the facilities are modern and always spotless.
There is a on site shop with all the essentials (including icecreams!). There is also a putting green, badminton etc plus a book swap, so no need to leave the site other than to explore the beautiful neighbouring countryside and lovely surrounding villages.
There is also a good sized field to the front of the campsite which is a designated dog walking area - great for first thing when the dogs can't wait for a good run before the day ahead.
We would recommend the Pack Horse Inn (Crowdicote) for food. Lovely home cooked food, guest ales and the friendliest landlord we've ever met. He even offered to drive us back so that we could enjoy the ales even more!
We had a great few days and would definitely return.

We went during the Easter bank holiday and it was nice to see the site was not over packed even though it was full, meaning we had a comfortable and intimate pitch. What a difference an adult only site makes! The site are committed to keeping a peaceful environment and adhere to a no large groups rule, the only noise was from the birds.
The facilities were really good and each toilet cubicle has it's own sink which is nice if you prefer a wash and teeth brush in private. The showers have a good pressure and are hot but you are meant to mop them out after which, although we agree with, the mop bucket always had dirty water in it which defeats the object somewhat.
A visit to the Pack Horse Inn in Crowdecote is recommended, the food is fantastic, the host is warm and welcoming and you are able to sit in the large beer garden and admire the beautiful surroundings. One thing to note is book in advance for a table as it gets very busy on the weekends.
The site is very tranquil with amazing views over the rolling countryside, sheltered enough and the wardens were always very friendly and happy to help. We will definitely be paying another visit within the year and letting our friends and family know about the site.

We were staying at Longnor wood for a three day stay over the Easter weekend. After some initial difficulty finding the site (don't trust your Satnav - look out for signs) we were welcomed at reception and shown to our pitch.
I was initially a little disappointed that the camping section of the park was more of a field than a campsite ie There was very little privacy. We were instructed where to park our car and where to pitch our tent. The pitches are rather cramped and we felt very blocked in. There is a slope on the field which also makes things slightly difficult. Luckily our neighbours on all sides were pretty quiet so it wasn't a big issue.
The field that you drive through before entering the park has fantastic views and would make a wonderful camping field. Otherwise views from the park are rare (given its surrounded by woodland).
The pitches for caravans and campervans looked very nice and spacious. You could almost fit four or five tent pitches into one caravan pitch. .
The facilities were close to the camping and were very clean. Showers and toilets were never fully occupied, and we were there on a full weekend, so this is definitely not a problem. The facilities are heated and have radio so there has obviously been a great deal of thought put into their design.
The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do more to help. There was a badminton, boules and putting field.
Overall this is a lovely site.

The site is a member of the Tranquil Parks group - adults only and the word 'Tranquil' is not out of place here at all.
The site is well away from the road - and its a quiet road anyway. A lane winds up the hill ans right at the top is the site. The only noise was from the birds - literally.
There are a lot of seasonal vans on site but every one looks clean and well kept so doesn't detract from the immaculate way the site is kept. Many of the pitches are fully serviced but we went for a normal pitch which had plenty of room, ehu and a water pipe. The pitches were faintly slopping and we needed level blocks and bricks to even out the van.
The toilets / showers are immaculate - plenty of hot water and no 'push button'.
This is a site for peace and quiet or walkers, nearest village is a drive away is you want it.
A real haven of a site with a brilliant warden who is friendly and helpful.
We paid £23 for 2 adults with ehu.

We have just returned from a couple of nights stay at Longnor. We have stayed here several times before and as always we were welcomed warmly and made welcome. This is a very well run site and I just can't fault it in any way. The surrounding area is beautiful and the pub in the village is great. Good food at a very reasonable cost. Will definitely return over and over. A big thank you to all staff at Longnor wood

We spent a week with our two dogs at this gem of a site. We had not been to an adult only site before and we welcomed the peace and tranquillity that Longnor offers.
John the warden was very helpful and friendly, helping my husband move the caravan into place. He was very busy during the week as the Laundry Room is having a make over and he was busy working on it but always on hand in case you needed anything.
The shower block was spotless, the showers very warm and we never had to queue for a shower even though towards the end of the week one was out of order. Being a bit of a hygiene freak, the sink and liquid soap in the toilet cubicle was much appreciated!
The view from the dog walk was amazing, with a view of around 14 miles on a clear day. My only concern is the dog walk is not fully enclosed, having the road to the site on one side and across that road the wood, but it didn't cause us any major problems with the dogs, only one time when my lurcher got the smell of a rabbit and disappeared over the wall into the wood. And rabbits there were, all over the place, lovely to sit and watch them from your caravan window, not so lovely when you have a rabbit focused lurcher!
Longnor was quite a distance to walk so we drove into the village to the Cheshire Cheese (which doesn't serve food on Sunday evenings and is closed on Mondays) and had the most delicious food. They also welcome dogs in one room, which was very much appreciated.
All in all, we had a brilliant, but cold week, and we are already planning another trip to Longnor Wood in the summer months.

We went with our dog to this site for one night. It was very quiet, tranquil and relaxing.
The site manager was very friendly and helpful, helping me to reverse into position.
The toilet and shower facilities were the cleanest I have ever seen and even had radio 2 piped in!
There were woods nearby for walking dogs and even thought it rained heavily they provided shelter.
There are no shops nearby although some items are sold on site.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and will go again one day.

When we arrived at the site we were made to feel very welcome and personally shown to our pitch,
We did have one problem that our water pipe would not reach the tap even though it was of standard length but after talking to the warden that was resolved with the loan of an extension to fit to our pipe.
The toilet and shower block was very clean and there always seemed to be plenty of hot water.
There was lots of information for places to visit, walks to go on and places to eat.
The roads leading to the site are very steep so do be aware of this, there are passing places if something coming the other way.
The nearest pub is the cheshire cheese in the village of longnor about one mile away, two other excellent pubs are the winking man which is on the main road as you head towards Leek and the other is the knights table on the road towards Buxton both do lovely meals

Just returned from a 5 day stay. Owners very welcoming and helpful and took us to our electric pitch. We even had tv connection which was good as reception here is not all that good. Trouble getting any mobile phone signal.
Site is quiet and clean and being adults only is a bonus. Toilet block was kept clean and the radio was playing during the day. Although there are only three showers for women and three for men, never had to queue and there was always plenty of hot water.
Surrounding country side is beautiful with plenty of places to visit if you like walking.Great site.
