Arrived early evening to a warm and friendly welcome from the young man on duty. He directed us to our serviced pitch and helped park up. He then showed us where everything was. Toilet block, chemical drop etc. The site and amenities were well kept and very clean. Having two Labradors who were eager for their walkies, I set off for the dog walk. I was amazed. What a stunning views. The next day we drove in to the village and had fish and chips in the tea rooms. Very nice.
We booked this site on a recommendation from a friend and we were very glad that we did. Will certainly book again.

I'm not going to repeat much as the reviews ring true, excellent friendly site. Facilities were immaculate and a beautiful location.
Only warning I will give you is to use a map and NOT satnav to get there as it will take you miles round single track lanes and get lost, still at least we had a good look at the area eh.
Will most definitely return.

Arrived to a very warm welcome and after a friendly chat we were shown to our pitch. The staff member explained the site rules, where everything was, water, toilets, washing up facilities, laundry, fire extinguishers etc and all in a very pleasant manner. After pitching the first port of call was the toilet block which was clean, heated and had piped radio 2, which was nice! In short the facilities are excellent. There is also a small well stocked shop on site. What more do you want?
There is a playground but not for kids as this is an adults only site. Badminton, boules, pitch and putt are freely available. The tent field is only on a slight slope so no problems there. Now the best bit. The location, the views are outstanding. The two nearest pubs are in the local village of Longnor which is about a 2 mile walk(and very nice at that). If you want peace and quiet then this is the place to be. Put it this way we enjoyed it that much we re-booked to visit again the following month!

On arrival we were shown to our pitch (no 6), about 100 yards from the toilets and just a convenient 10m away from a mains tap with easy access to the exit road. We were told specifically where to pitch the tent and where to park the car by the friendly enough warden, though first impressions were that the set up was a bit unnecessarily over fussy.
All the facilities here are spotlessly clean and very modern from the basic water amenities right down to the free use microwave and ice block freezer. The only minor gripe being that you have to press the button every 10 to 15 seconds to keep the shower water flowing which becomes irritating after a couple of minutes.
The site is 1.6 miles (Google Earth!) from Longnor village (and the nearest pubs) by foot, though it is easier going (30 mins) than coming back up the hill. The Horseshoe Inn and The Cheshire Cheese pubs are both pleasant enough, though the latter being quite a bit cheaper.
Our stay was made all the better by superb weather though I would come back again anyway if for no other reason than the kid free peace and quiet and magnificent scenery.

Haven't got a bad word to say about this site.
Beautifully presented. Well maintained. Fully serviced pitch was excellent.
All other pitches seemed to be positioned well. Would have been happy to have been put anywhere.
Toilet block is clean, tidy, well looked after.
Staff always had a smile. Lovely people. Once through the main barrier the view is fantastic and the sunset was awesome.
The walk to Longnor was about 1.25 miles away and once there you have 3 pubs to choose from. A post office and a small shop. Extremely pretty village. Bit of a pull up the final hill on the way back.
We will definitely be visiting again!

Just come back from weekend at Longnor. Got lost using sat nav! not recommended as had to turn around in postman pat country. When we arrived we were shown to our pitch and the gentleman even helped us push the van into position. The shower was a pain as it was a push in type and only lasted a minute at a time, apart from that no gripes. Great site with great views would recommend it. Longnor just 40 mins walk away has 3 good pubs and a fab chippy. We will be back

We spent a wonderful week here over May half term in the lower half of the site where the statics are and it has to be one of the best sites we have stayed on. I was surprised to read one of the reviews on here about site rules as I thought this was one of the most relaxed and rule free sites we have ever stayed on. We were shown to our pitch by a very nice young man who never mentioned which way we should pitch tent, car or anything else. Neither did we experience any kind of nasty smells while camped on this side of the site.
The site is in a wonderful location and even if you don't have a dog, a stroll around the huge dog walking area is a must for the wonderful views.
The village is great for amenities and a coffee in the craft shop is another must. We didn't eat or drink in the pubs so cant comment but the little village shop is like a tardis and very well stocked. It has no licence though so the nearest place to buy that last minute bottle of wine is Morrisons in Buxton, a good sized supermarket.
The site is very well placed for visiting all areas of the peak national park and Derbyshire and a big plus for us was the big discount bookstore on the corner as you turn off the Buxton road.
We loved this site with its spotless facilities, friendly owners, peace and quiet and stunning views and I am sure we will be bringing our tent here for many years to come.

This park is on various levels with open spaces and a variety of wildlife to observe. On arrival we were shown a hard standing pitch on a steep gradient which we felt would damage our (brand new)caravan. We were offered a level pitch on grass but with the recent bad weather these pitches were also unusable. We were eventually offered a harding standing, level pitch on the higher ground, which was ideal. The park is located in the Peak Naitonal Park with stunning views all round for those who enjoy walking. The park facilities are very good with clean toilets and efficient showers. The village of Longnor is very picturesque with a variety of things to do. If visiting this park you need to be specific when booking the type of pitch required. We will definitely be visiting the area again.

To say we love this site is an understatement. We stay at least once a year, even if it’s just the Saturday night whilst we go out to walking on the Saturday, Sunday.
The site appears to be run by a family who live on the grounds. We are always met by happy smiling faces, and always escorted to our plot. And there is always someone around if and when you need them.
We took our friends here last august bank holiday, as an introduction to camping, and I think we spoilt them. Big pitches, nice relaxing environment, boules and pitch & put whilst enjoying a glass or two of red wine in the sun.
The site has undergone some improvements of late, the shower block has been updated, but and this is it’s only downfall, there is still a smell of drains for a 1m perimeter around the shower block building. Oddly it’s no further out than that, and not inside the block itself.
As for the facilities themselves, the shower block is always clean when I go. Ok some grass on the floor, but you can’t escape that on a campsite. There is a large field dedicated field for dog walking (if you have a dog). Longnor village is tiny, but it has a small general store/ post office and a few pubs. I haven’t ventured out to the pubs yet, as we always take our own! Bakewell is near, and a lovely village to have a potter. On the way down we always stop off at the big clearance bookstore nearby to grab a bargain.
As an adults only site, I think it makes all the difference. And to my friends & family who I am trying to coax into camping (after hearing about the great times we’ve had come rain or shine) I always recommend Longnor Wood as a very good site.

Absolutely beautiful setting but narrow road leading to site so please obey site instructions ie do not arrive on site before 2 pm. Warm welcome on arrival; we were given details of amenities both on site and in the village (small shop on site and also in village). If the site shop could get a licence to sell wine they would make a killing as we went into Buxton to buy some! Pubs in village but we didn't visit so can't recommend. Toilets/showers/washing facilities excellent.
Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
