What a fantastic site. I camped on my own with 3 kids and could not have felt more secure and cared for. Beautiful views and lovely and quiet. Great showers etc and very friendly and helpful owners. Awful weather! but still had a lot of fun. The kids loved the freedom. We will be going again in a couple of weeks.

As a campsite inspector I inspected this site, lovely people very caring and helpful. Registered for more units but they prefer to give people space. Terraced with views. Tent facilities at top of the site, some pitches are very sloping. Hypermarket within 4 mile drive. City within 4 miles. Facilities immaculate.

What a lovely little site this is. The owners are really nice and friendly. The toilets and showers were very very clean with fresh flowers in the ladies for that little touch. The little shop that is on site is very cheap for a campsite shop. The views are stunning from every pitch. There should definitely be more campsites like this that make you feel comfortable and arent just after your pennies keep up the good work.

Very nice site owners are spot on always there to help we did not have the best of weather but still enjoyed staying at this site. The place is clean and toilets showers are excellent. Only problem is the noise from the main road and no footpaths down to the local pub but that is not the owners fault. I will return to this site again next year.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend. We arrived late, but the owner stayed at the reception to greet us. Our friends were even later, but they too had a very warm welcome. The site had mainly caravans when we were there, we were placed on the far end of the site, only a couple of minutes walk from the shower block. The toilets / showers are modern and clean. The only problem we encountered was if you didn't have a shower early then the hot water ran out and there was only a trickle from the shower - get there before 8 and you should be ok! The pitches are generous in size and very flat with nice grass. The electric point was very close and rubbish points and taps are nearby. There is some noise from the road which you will hear if you are in a tent, I doubt you'd hear it in a caravan. All in all a good site with friendly helpful owners (they even delivered rubbish bags to each pitch), we would return if we were in the area. The site is very near to Durham which is well worth a visit.

A cracking site, plenty of room for Vans and Motorhomes and a very nice smallish tent area with wonderful views. Immaculate shower / toilet block, rubbish bins always empty (how does he do it?) and recycling facilities. Nicely situated for Durham (big new Tesco 10 mins away) and Beamish Open Air Museum is a short hop up the A1. Pub a mile or two down but the road is a bit dodgy to walk along. There is a bit of noticeable traffic noise but nothing serious. If you're going soon say hello to Meg (the Collie) for me! We will be back.

Arrived and met Howard. Very friendly, showed us his camping field, small on a hill which sloped and met a rough man with 3 kids camping and playing Radio 1 very loud. Ground very hard like concrete. What a start, but after Howard asked him to turn down the radio everything was fine from then on in. Great showers & toilets, fantastic views ,super pub less than a mile away, cheap ice creams from Howard's shop, ie. Heaven. It is a 680 mile round trip to the campsite, which is too far for me to go in the future, as the reason for camping there was to go cycling in the area, which I have now done. But anyone living in the North of England should try and get there and meet Howard.

Very clean, showers and toilets and Howard and his wife were really nice. Visiting the area as moving. Brought dad on to site for an hour no problems. Great views over Durham. Flat ground, local pub down the road. Lots of info given by Elizabeth

Just returned from strawberry Hill, a very good site which is easy to get to from the A1. It is also near many attractions. The pitch sizes were the largest I have so far used. The toilet and wash area were also one of the cleanest. The only down side was the noise from the road which runs along the side of the campsite, I will be returning again.

This was our second visit to Strawberry Hill Farm. Again we had a great time, Howard and Elizabeth were once again very helpful. The site is very clean.Toilets/showers and other areas are well looked after. Howard is the type of guy that makes your holiday. He goes round the site 4 or 5 times every day emptying the bins. The kids love this park (one of them is very hard to please) but not here. Megan came to our tent each day we were there to play with the kids. We will be back in the six weeks holidays for certain. Once again all credit to Howard and Elizabeth for a well kept site.
