First time I been back to Bagwell for about 15 years! The site is still essentially the same. More importantly, it is clean and well kept. The showers, wash basins and loo's are still the same, but at least they are clean. The washing-up area is outside under cover, which itself is under trees. So during stronger winds, you end up with some of the dead leaves on the washing area. The pitches are quite large and easily laid out. But we had a problem with your electric hook-up. We only a 2KW kettle, which is fine for 10A supply, but more often than not, it tripped out the line of supply boxes. (Nothing wrong with the kettle as it worked fine at our next site). Other slight niggle with the site, we kind of thought it would be nice to gently woken up to a dawn chorus in the morning, but didn't expect to be woken up by the crow chorus at 5 every morning. I don't suppose you can blame any one for that thought! Also, people who have ice packs, might be little surprised at there arrangements. You can get you ice packs frozen, but they don't guarantee you will get yours back. I seems as if they just chuck them in the fridge and just get any ice pack out which is frozen. The cost is 25p per pack, with a 75p deposit. In summary, after what I have said above, I would go back to Bagwell because it is nice and quiet (except early morning but nothing that ear plugs cannot fix!) and in a nice location, and ultimately the facilities are free and clean.

We actually spent the 3rd week of our honeymoon at Bagwell Farm! The pitches are very large and well market out. Showers are basic but clean. The only problem I found was with the hot and hot water. It needed to be pushed every 60 seconds otherwise the water would stop. This was quite annoying after a while. The bar has a lovely area to sit outside and served good food. All in all, we were very happy and we would stay again.

Review note: Only organised groups with their own toilet facilities are booked into the rally field. All individual bookings are given a pitch on the main park which does have toilet and shower blocks and it is possible to request a pitch very near the toilets if required.
We too were part of the UKCS meet on the rally field. I will echo everyone else's comments about the distance to the toilets and showers, we found it easier to drive there each morning. There definitely needs to be more showers, especially at busy bank holiday weekend. I had to queue at 6.45am! But they were spotlessly cleaned and maintained regularly throughout the day. The shop was well stocked and handy, the bar/grill restaurant was very nice and a handy meeting place.
There are some great walks around that area and the views to Chesil beach were fab. We particularly liked the little bus that shuttles back and forth to Weymouth via some other camps. We used that bus a lot which saved the hassle of taking the car, and meant we could have a few pints while watching the Trawler Racing on Bank Holiday Monday, in scorching sunshine. I liked Bagwell very much and would return again.

Bagwell Farm is in a good central location to plenty of attractions in the area. The ehu pitches are terraced with senic views. There is a small shop selling a good range of products including camping supplies, as well as a games room & playpark.
The bar & grill is very reasonably priced (most meals around £5) There is also a pub within walking distance just outside the site, and another at Bagwells sister site further up the dirt track.
Showers are very clean although they could do with curtains, baths cost a pound, but you get plenty of hot water for your money. There is a bus service on site during peak season. The new owners are working on improvements. Looking forward to going back next year

Bagwell was the first site my family went to, five years ago when we began camping. We liked it enough to go back three times. As we hadn't been for a while and knew it was under new ownership, we went at half term.
The site is as we remembered it, well located, quiet and with good staff. It is clean and the shop, a failing with a number of other sites we've been to, is still, despite it's tiny size, excellent - though the food could be expanded in range. We did find that the bar, 'The Red Barn', though still good, seems to have been downgraded by the new owners. It used to supply breakfast, entertainment and was open until 11pm. Now it is only open 5-10pm and has many an advert for the bar at another site - West Fleet.
We really enjoyed the week but feel slightly worried that such a great site may be being 'ignored' by the owners in favour of other sites in their ownership. Hope you enjoy your stay there and would recommend to anyone, but to the owners, please keep things great and invest to make sure!

We have just spent a week here on a rally and were reluctant to leave. The toilets & showers were spotless with plenty of hot water and free hairdryers although I think more showers are needed for a site of this size.
Review note: Only organised groups with their own toilet facilities are booked into the rally field. All individual bookings are given a pitch on the main park which does have toilet and shower blocks and it is possible to request a pitch very near the toilets if required.
It is in a beautiful location with seaviews and glorious sunsets. The walk down to the coastal path is longer than expected but I had the pleasure of seeing a deer run across the path directly in front of me one morning amongst other wildlife. There is a bus that comes on site late morning going to Weymouth and returns at five. We also took along uphill walk up to St Catherines Chapel perched high on a hill but it was worth it as the views were spectacular. This site is definitely worth a return visit.

Bagwell Farm is situated just outside Weymouth in a picturesque fold in the landscape with a view to the sea. We were staying as part of the UKCS meet, and were in the rally field.
Being in the rally field meant a 5 to 10 minute walk to the toilet/shower facilities. Having said that, the facilities were clean, with good hot water in the showers for free.
Review note: Only organised groups with their own toilet facilities are booked into the rally field. All individual bookings are given a pitch on the main park which does have toilet and shower blocks and it is possible to request a pitch very near the toilets if required.
The site also had a pub/bar which was closer, but did not seem to be open as often as some of us would have liked!
Overall, I would definitely consider going back to the site as it offered good value, with the level of facilities I like, including a shop and bar.
One final point to bear in mind, the current owners are relatively new, and they actively sought comments from the UKCS members, which can only mean that they will look to make improvements in the future.

We spent Sping Bank Holiday at Bagwell on the Rally Field. The site was set in lovely countryside, not far from the coast and a few miles from the Town of Weymouth. The kids loved the Sand Pit at the Park, the boot sale on Saturday was great. The only draw back for me was the distance we had to go for the toilets and showers. It was one heck of a walk for those able bodied to do it, let alone someone who is disabled. I ended up having to drive to the toilets as I was unfit to do the walking. It was also very hard for the young children who wanted to go to the loo more than normal, walking that way was a killer. If your on the rally Field then make sure you have your Bucket with lid or porta potti as you gonna need it

Bank Holiday End May 2005. We stayed at Bagwell as part of the UKCampsite rally. And were therefore placed on the rally field over the road from the main site The main site itself is OK but I'd be a bit wary of tenting it at busy times as a fair few of the tent pitches were sloping. But that aside they seemed big enough. And some of them were right next to the Pub ( Bonus ).
Talking of the pub as I frequently do, It could be a little crowded at peak times but if the weather is good I'm sure they would not have a problem if you spilled out onto the grass. I didn't try the evening meals ( those who did said they were good ) but the breakfasts were just what was needed.
The site shop was small but well stocked with the basics and they have a small selection of papers. They also do Ice pack freezing and Gas bottles. Reception is opposite the shop, I never went in it ( hardly saw it open ) but it had the usual leaflets in there. I never saw the games room on the site unless it was the small ( very small ) windowless box attached to the back of the reception. Plenty of bins and water points dotted about, and as people have said the toilet block was old but clean ( there is a changing area in each shower cubicle ). There is a small childrens play area near the entrance that could do with some TLC. and the Farmyard pets corner should not be used as a selling point, but the younger kids seemed happy to see a donkey.
We had a great few days at Bagwell and would go again but not on the main site at mid summer.

July 2004 We made our choice based on other peoples reviews so thought it only right leave one of our own. This is a lovely site situated just outside Weymouth, but with 2 small children we weren't bothered. The bus to weymouth stopped outside the shop - we would have used it but with a buggy and all that goes with a baby, driving into town was a far better option. Parking wasn't too bad - £6 per day in the car park behind the pavillion and it was only a couple of hundred yards to the beach. We were on a level pitch at the top of the slope in the field where the bar was with lovely views of chesil beach. We were there in the first week of the school holidays and it wasn't very busy. Allthough it did start to fill rapidly as weekend approached.
Facilities are getting on a bit but well maintained and spotlessly clean (as was the whole site). There was a bath (£1) to de-sand the kids. Overall a great site. we had great weather and spent everyday on the beach at weymouth.
