Another wonderful stay at Bagwell. This is an excellent, well run site, the facilities are immaculate and the staff are all really nice and helpful.
We've stayed here quite a few times now and never had a bad experience. Beautiful views over the Chesil Bank, and we were blessed with the really sunny hot weather.
We'll be back.

We enjoyed our time here during term time in November with its modern warm clean facilities block & hard standing pitches. The lady in the well-stocked shop was very pleasant/helpful & the site well maintained with easy access from the B road. We were able to walk direct from the site on footpaths to The Fleet, Coast Path & the nearby village pub. We saw a large children’s play area, a dog walk & bar grill (closed during the time we were there) We didn't have children with us so can't really comment regarding suitability. The site was well placed to visit Weymouth & various attractions in the surrounding area.

This was our second trip in the caravan as a 'newbie' to caravanning so we were very excited about arriving at Bagwell Farm from reading previous reviews and their website.
We have a 2 year old and 4 year old so everything matters! :)
We were not disappointed, a warm welcome and given a map with all the available pitches to chose from, we set up fine (I now have a note book in case we miss anything!) before venturing to the pub for food, the kids were hungry. Highly recommend The Elm Tree Inn - wonderful! Carvery amazing!
Play park is ideal for young children, they enjoyed visiting the donkeys on site.
Facilities: showers were hot and plenty of them, even though you do have to keep pressing the button, with cleaning two children it can be tricky but multitasking is what parents are experienced at :)
I thought a nice touch was having a bathroom for families with a bath in (pay extra), plenty of washing machines (coins)and dryers and a lovely touch was the magazines to read.
(I had a terrible experience of 'token' machines at a previous site! never again).
Site shop has everything you need, I even bought a pair of handmade gloves and poppy for remembrance day, beautifully made by a local lady.
Bagwell Site is lovely, warm, friendly, met my expectations and my children's, the information hut is AMAZING and learnt so much about the area that we spent 10 hours a day out of our caravan exploring the countryside (BEST location) and making memories with our children which was our main reason for buying a caravan in the first place.
We will be back.
Thank you for starting our caravan journey X

We decided to bring our twin grandchildren away before they went back to school after the summer holidays. Although the weather could have been kinder they, and us, had a good time at Bagwell Farm. Of course it was fairly quiet as many children had returned to school, but the kids found friends in the good play area giving us a bit of peace and quiet. The facilities we used were the old shower and toilet block as they were nearest our pitch, but we had a look at the more modern block and these were superb, even with complete bathrooms if preferred. The pitches were flat and tidy and we could see the sea in the distance. The shop had a bit of everything and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We hope to return again soon and explore the area on our own.

Another brilliant stay at Bagwell Farm. This was the first year we'd stayed in a touring caravan, we sadly had to give up our folding camper as we could not manage it any more. One tiny little drawback is that the hardstanding was very, very hard. Even with rock pegs my husband had a job to peg out the awning. Didn't spoil our stay at all though. We had a lovely stay, the weather was kind to us and the site as usual is very well kept. All the facilities are immaculate and the staff very helpful. I seemed to have quite a few questions this time, and each one was dealt with quickly and pleasantly. Love the site and the area and we will be back. 100% recommend it! Weymouth is about 5½ miles away with it's lovely sandy beach and great shops and places to eat.

Sited just behind the Fleet lagoon that can be reached via a footpath across to fields direct from the site, you also pick up the coast path from this footpath. Quite a large site with several closed up caravans that look to be seasonal, and I guess, a few contractors. Only used the newest amenities block which was very clean and spacious. The dog walk field, even though was large, was not secure for off lead exercise, it was big enough that they could have divided it so you had both an off lead and on lead area, also concerning that you had to walk up a grassy bank to access it, so a bit dangerous in the wet weather we experienced, and even more so for the older dog owners who may not be as agile. Didn't use the Barn for food or drinks so cant comment. Too far out from Weymouth to make it walkable so both days we had to take the dogs on the bus before we could start the walks. We found the old railway track, now a cycle path that you can walk to Portland. Only a very small section of the beach can the dogs be walked on at Weymouth

An excellent site with a wide variety of pitches are available including hardstanding with electricity for large motorhomes with awnings.
Has a well-stocked shop with food, gas and camping bits.
Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area.
Very clean site the toilet block is immaculate.
There are sea views. The sea is about 1 mile away.
There is footpath access to the South West Coastal Path.
Well positioned for visiting the coast and South Dorset attractions.

This was my first visit to the region, and I found this site purely by chance, after trying several other sites which were charging frankly ludicrous amounts to put up a small tent. The cost here was perfectly reasonable. I arrived just before the start of the English school holidays and had the luxury of a field all to myself!. The people in reception, which included a pretty well stocked shop, could not have been more helpful or welcoming. Facilities on the site were perfect for my needs. It proved an ideal base for visits to Chesil Beach and nearby gardens, and just a little further to Portland Bill. A campsite to which I would happily return.

Just returned home after 5 nights at Bagwell Farm.
Staff at reception were welcoming even though we went to wrong hut/reception first. Reception is in shop on right as you go in. (not the hut on the left which we and the person with caravan behind us went in).
Two showers/toilet blocks look old but are ok inside with a newer block just as you enter site which I did not use. The site had everything you would expect and I liked it. We pitched on the top bank to the right as you go in which we liked. Our pitch was fairly flat so no complaints.
Very handy for Weymouth with some nice walks very close by.
Yes it is a touch more expensive than some sites but your staying near a very nice holiday town.
The site does what it says on the tin! We would definitely stay at Bagwell Farm again.

We have stayed here many times within the last 15 years, perfect for visits to the coast, Weymouth and surrounding areas. Toilet blocks are very clean, small shop stocks emergency bits, a little pricey but hey convenient, our gripe and others we spoke to is the Red Barn, it is supposed to be a restaurant and bar on site, to be honest it is far from that, apart from the food being not great but a bit pricey 2 take away burger n chips was close to £15, the decor and cleanliness is simply not good enough, please Bagwell paint the tables, use some pastel shades inside, clean the bar area and add a new counter, and get rid of the rediculous hi-viz stars with messages on now far from me to say but have a think that we stayed for 6 nights and didn't visit even for a pint, lots of folk said the same, come on guys it hasn't changed in 15 years.
Hard standings just far too hard even for Tarzan pegs and a sledge hammer seriously, fully serviced super pitches are large and apart from pegs price is fair, just couldn't get awning up right. TV point and water with waste all good.
New toilet block immaculate, dog walk great.
We ate out every night apart from 2 (BBQs) and found some nice places, Kings Arms in Abbotsbury and the Greyhound about 12 miles away in Blandford is simply brilliant and great (go there have a look what a bar in 2016 should look like) we will come again but Bagwell you probably lose £100+ by us not using the Barn sorry.
