The campsite was very nice and relaxed/friendly, very good amenities and has great views, nice walks nearby and dog walking field was very spacious. Would highly recommend this for anyone, we are local to the area and wanted a quick getaway in our campervan and decided to try Bagwell Farm, also there is a car boot on Sundays which is in a field nearby.

Visited this site over Spring Bank holiday, friendly welcome in the little shop which has lots of various items for sale, even some nice, reasonably priced red wine! Very clean and tidy site, toilet blocks immaculately clean. Lots of lovely hot water available. Good bar on site with some different beers and lagers, hubby really liked the Boston lager, can't remember the name though. Handy pathway to the Victoria Inn next door, shame it was a bit muddy but quite funny trying not to slip. Walked along the coastal path until Charlestown, stopped off at the Alex pub for some well earned refreshment. They were serving home made Sunday roast which looked and smelt fantastic, plate was certainly piled high with food. Would recommend his site to others.

We stayed at Bagwell Farm on the second bank holiday in May at the start of half tem. The site was pretty busy but there did seem to be plenty of room and we definitely didn’t feel overcrowded. There is a very nice new shower/toilet block which has a heated floor and the showers are nice and hot if lacking a little on pressure, also plenty of washing up sinks. The lady on reception is very nice and there is a small but very well stocked shop (they also sell beef produced on the farm which was very good). There is a path from the site which leads to the south west coast path, although we didn’t use it this time, and there are fabulous views from the site. We note that this site is open all year, and will definitely add it to our list of winter options. There is also a motor home service point with drive over waste etc - this is great, as many sites don't have this facility. My only gripes are that the terraces are a little narrow, and I thought it was a bit pricey, but we find that the Dorset coast is generally an expensive place to camp.

This is a good roomy site. We were on a fully serviced pitch. The site was fairly quiet. Didn't use bar/restaurant as it was not open. The site was very windy and we were unable to put up our awning ! Nice walk to Chesil beach/coastal path. We paid £5 for late stay. Lovely facilities, showers and bathrooms and toilets were excellent. Shop was well stocked, we would return to this site when down that way again. The site is very close to Weymouth, surrounding area and villages are very pleasant.

We stayed for 2 weeks in jan 2014. What a fantastic site. The toilet and shower block are kept warm and very very clean. The site shop is well stocked, even to caravan bits. The staff in the shop are very helpful, you can order your daily paper at the shop. We had a problem with our car which the young lady in the shop was able to find us a local garage for us to get repaired. All the staff, from cleaners to ground staff, were very polite. We will return again. Thank you bagwell farm, well done

Had a good overnight stay during the wet weather in January.
The site is well drained and although the local walks were very muddy (as expected), the site was fine and had been well looked after to keep the mud at bay.
There's a very large dog exercise area which was at the top of the site so again gave the dogs a chance to stretch their legs last thing at night without getting covered in mud.
The facilities were heated, clean and modern. And the campsite shop was very well stocked for the time of year.
We walked up to the Elm Tree Inn at Langton Herrington, shoddy food and dirty ale, so wouldn't visit their again. There are a couple of other pubs that reviewers mention, so we'll try those next time.
This is a good site that we'll use again for 'off-season' camping.

All in all we enjoyed our stay here and will return. Very good shower block by us but others looked a bit dated. We stayed on a super pitch and had seen from previous reviews that rock pegs were needed for an awning. We had rock pegs but found it completely impossible to erect our porch awning. It seemed as though the gravel had been laid on reinforced concrete. That said, we had a good time here and loved the easy access to some wonderful walks, which we and our dog enjoyed. The Red Barn was handy for a drink but we were never 100% sure when it would be open? Conveniently located for Weymouth and friendly staff.

Here we go, hi everyone, here is my 1st ever review. Last year was my first ever as a caravanner. We had 5 days in torquay on a 5* site and then moved to bagwell farm for the 2nd week. I did not like it! It was a bit commercial and not strictly a farm. It had over 200 pitches, very busy, the pitch behind paying music a bit loud. We settled in to a serviced pitch and went down to the old shower block. It was very clean and plenty of hot water but it was old. Still not impressed we settled in for the night. Then everything changed. As the dark closed in, the site settled down, the kids went in, the music stopped, the site fell silent, it was 10pm, I was shocked. Next day, my wife went for a shower to the new shower block, guess what, it is all brand new? Clean, tidy, new. We walked around the site to find it was actually a farm with goats and donkeys and chickens etc but still a caravan site. My view was changing. The site is only 3 miles from Weymouth but my favourite place to visit was west bay some 10 miles to the east. Within 40 mins you can visit poole, Bournemouth and lovely swanage. As the week went on I realised that the old shower block was old but clean, the new shower block was new and clean, the music from the next pitch was not the fault of the site, and most of all, bagwell farm had completely changed my view, I loved it!. We returned this year in July, stayed on a fully serviced pitch, just £3 more(why wouldn't you) and loved it again. There you go, my 1st review, bagwell farm, loved it.

We stayed for 3 nights over a long weekend at this site. Didn't book in advance just turned up, it was in the right area for visiting places we wanted to see like Portland Bill, Chesil Beach and Corfe Castle.
Nice site, clean facilities and very friendly and helpful staff.
Shop is reasonably well stocked, looked like nice play area for children though we didn't have any little ones with us. We didn't eat at the Red Barn because we like catering for ourselves
We had a nice stay here - would recommend.

Just come back from another lovely holiday at Bagwell. We have a Pennine folding camper. We tried a hardstanding pitch for the 1st time, and this was the only downside of our stay. Some of the stone chips on the pitch were quite large, and we all slipped on loose stones at one time or other, as they are not packed together. Also agree with 'Chickens' below, the pitch was exceptionally hard, and we had to drive off to the local camping shop to buy rock pegs for our awning. Apart from this, as usual Bagwell excelled in cleanliness, and friendly staff. I used the older toilet block all the time and think it is just as good as the newer one, even if it is not so posh! We ate at the Red Barn for the 1st time too, and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Yes the surroundings are basic, but we enjoyed it. We love this site and will continue to stay here when we visit Weymouth.
