I feel I must write & tell everyone about this lovely campsite we stopped at last weekend, Its situated just outside York so you are only few min's away from the city but you might as well be a thousand miles away its a quite picturesque site. It was the first time myself & husband had take the children away in a caravan(5year old & 2year old). Its a family run site & the owners were really helpful & friendly nothing was too much trouble. The toilets blocks & showers were space us & clean. The kids loved the play area the only problem that let it down was the weather & the fact the weekend ended too soon. I will definitely be back & will be telling family & friends about so a big thank you to the owners who made us feel so welcome

August 2005 Stayed for 3 nights over August bank holiday weekend. What a lovely site! Only 2 camping fields but nice play area, games room with ping pong table, table football , television, magazines and games; and a great tree swing. Only two ladies loos but they were always immaculate and there never seemed to be a queue. Very friendly, helpful owners with a nice site shop (only open a few hours a day) with fabulous home made pies and cakes for sale. Only 10 minutes drive from the park and ride to York - the A road running alongside the campsite was quite noisy into the night. We had a really great time here and we will definitely be going again.

June 2005 Arrived Fri for weekend, hot sunny weather, 1st impressions of the site were very good. A small site very clean, well laid out. The pitches are all nice and flat and the childrens play area is lovely and safely located in a quiet enclosed corner. I even allowed my 3 year old son to wander over on his own knowing it was very safe. The shop was handy and the games room too. The showers and toilets were nice and clean and modern. My older 2 daughters really enjoyed the swing fastened on the tree next to the rally field. The site is very well placed for the park and ride into York. Lovely owners (let us stay on few more hours because it was quiet). I highly recommend this site and will definitely visit again. A1

April 2005 We arrived Friday evening after work for the B/H weekend and was kindly directed to our pitch by the owner. Shortly after arriving he kindly offered his help when we were putting our awning up. We all got chatting about the area and got the impression this was going to be a really nice stay and YES it was.
Ashfield is a lovely site with a great personal touch. The owners only took over last year and have had lots to do to get it in shape and still have further plans, all to benefit us campers & caravanners. The toilet and shower facilities were very clean. The showers cost 20p for 6 minutes, great pressure and lovely warm/hot water. They were of good size so you could take a child in with you and not forgetting lovely soft toilet paper. Shop on site for essentials although we didn`t need to use it and a small play area for the children along with ping pong and tv room.
Great dog walk just outside the site gates. Brilliant site to stay at to visit York & Outlet. We have been to many sites but would definately consider this one of our top choices for a short break, will definately be visiting again. Thankyou for a great weekend, keep up the good work, it is appreciated.

March 2005 wW have just returned from an Easter weekend break, weather was rubbish as usual on Bank holidays, but this site more than made up for it. Very friendly owners, very clean toilet / showers, nice play area for kids aswell as a lounge with table tennis, tv and a few games. Lovely site.

August 2004 I would love to say this is not a good site but that would be lying. Even though the site was very wet because of the bad weather they did everything they could to dry it out. It has been recently taken over by a young couple with kids and they have made every effort to make it child friendly. They have a tv room and a shop and they are making improvements to add a play area for next year. The toilets and showers were always clean and the dishwashing area which also had a washer and tumble dryer were also spotless. It is also within easy reach of YORK and all surrounding attractions. I would highly recommend this to all.
