We chose pitch 9, because we wanted a quiet pitch for our 2 dogs, and it was just as we hoped. Long and pitch pitch, but enough room for our modest trailer tent.

We arrived after a period of extensive rain, as such the ground was very wet and muddy, but a duck board was provided, which we put to good use and certainly helped keep the interior of the tent clean.

Graig Wen is a fabulous site that makes use of the resources already there, the toilets are in an old utility building, but kept warm and clean.

Showers were the same, copious amounts of hot water, in a spacious cubicle with no push button for the water (yay!). We loved the honesty shop and hope that people remain honest so that this unique feature stays.

There are 2 areas to wash pots, one under cover the other in the open, but both had plenty of hot water.

We liked that the rubbish is recycled, easy to do, with clear signage.

We wandered down the steep slope to explore the site and surrounding area. Wow! We loved the quirky nature of the 'campers' showers, loo and washing up facilities. The pitches on the lower part of the campsite are very well spaced, some with extraordinary views, and all have their own fire pit.

We walked along the trail at the bottom of the site for some miles, a fantastic path, with some lovely sights. We particularly enjoyed watching the tide slowly engulf the salt marshes.

Graig Wen is an ideal spot to explore Snowdonia and beyond. We stumbled across Coed y Brenin and Tan Y Coed, which have really well signposted walks for all abilities, with some of the best flora and fauna we have seen. Beautiful places.

We also timed a visit to Tywyn beach to perfection, arriving on the beach as the tide was going on, we walked almost to Aberdovey, before we returned. We feel there is so much more to explore so will be returning, and we will be staying here again.

We stayed at Graig Wen for 2 nights, it was our first time camping and we had a brilliant time. Was perfect and just the thing we needed to relax away from the stresses of everyday life! The location was easy to find and absolutely stunning! So much effort has gone into Graig Wen, it is incredible. A place of tranquillity and beauty. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I have gone back to work feeling revitalised but eager to book a return at the end of the month!

Lovely campsite. Each pitch has so much space so you feel like your camping on your own. Lots of adventures for the children, and easy access to local areas.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

No cars allowed at some pitches so hard work up and down a hill with a wheelbarrow but added to the adventure. But I would definitely recommend booking the man with his truck, especially to get back up the hill.

All in all a fantastic place but would not be ideal for those that struggle with hills.

Loved this site. In a lovely location with only 10ehu pitches. I’m not a fan of commercialised sites with on site entertainment/ arcades etc so this site was perfect. I would say take rock pegs as we had such trouble getting our pegs in the ground.

The facilities are lovely- toilets and showers are clean. Toilets have toilet paper - we’ve been on big sites that don’t provide toilet paper! Showers are spacious and clean and actually have somewhere to put your shampoo/ shower gel etc.

There were activities that the staff put on for the children- treasure hunt and pebble painting whilst we were there but there’s so much to do in the local area we didn’t get time to do much at the site. The site shop is well stocked and has an honesty box so isn’t manned.

You can hear road noise from the ehu pitches but it didn’t keep any of us awake.

Staff were really friendly- we got walked to our pitch when we got there and they were great at recommending places to eat that were child and dog friendly.

Communal campfire looked great. And it had a mud kitchen for the kids. Unfortunately it rained whilst we were there so we didn’t get chance to use it.

Would definitely go back.

Fantastic views and quiet site. only negative, due to my own late booking, my pitch was on the lower field which meant for my early departure I had to take my things to the car at the top of the hill, as I was leaving before 10am which is when the helpful ATV lift is available.

Great site for camping with your dog and a bbq fire at your tent.

We love it here! This was our 4th stay at Graig Wen and once again it didn't disappoint. The location is amazing, beautiful surroundings and we love our family cycle ride out of the bottom of the camp site, along the Mawddach Trail and over the bridge into Barmouth.

Our two boys (6 and 2) love it here too, the walk up to the top from the camping fields is pretty steep but they coped pretty well. The addition of the new showers by the tree bog is great, we were very happy that they opened just in time for us to test them out on our last morning.

We have stayed in the lower camping fields each time and love how much space there is between the pitches. Having a camp fire each night at our pitch is a real highlight too.

We will go back again and would definitely recommend Graig Wen to others!

A small quiet site which to us was perfect. The toilets and shower block very clean and tidy, however only 2 toilets each for both male and female, to have a couple more would benefit the whole site. 2 showers which is a mixed facility, again to have his and her shower block would be beneficial. I didn't like the fact that a man could be in the next cynical to me whilst having a shower.

The honesty shop was always well stocked up. The scenery breathtaking, especially at sun rise and sun set. A short drive to Barmouth, Dolgellau and Fairbourne.

We would certainly book again.

Had 4 lovely nights here recently on our first camping trip in quite a while, we would love to return here in the future.

We opted to have electric and wanted to keep our car next to the tent so we stayed on the top field near the main facilities. There were 2 pitches with great views and would have preferred to book one of these had we known. However the views in general were beautiful! You are sheltered from the main road however you could hear the passing traffic although it wasn't too much of a problem.

The other two fields further down were so peaceful with great views but our dog would have struggled with the steep walk up and down daily.

Honesty shop was a great addition, showers and toilets although basic were spotless. There was a water shortage while we were there and the site were installing some portaloos on our last day. Plenty of recycling and the site is very eco friendly.

Staff were very helpful and gave plenty of tips for what to do and where to go.

Would love to return at some point, highly recommended.
