2adults1x8yr old. We stayed at this site from the Friday/Sunday. We were welcomed upon arrival and shown where to go. Site I'd say is on 3 levels, Touring pitches were at the top just past reception then the next level down is for tents and another level down another area for tents and below that a cycle track to either fairbourne, Dolgellau or Barmouth. Best to note this is quite steep from the top to the bottom We cycled into Barmouth over the bridge and got a ferry(small boat) back to fairbourne, you just pay a little extra for the bikes.
Looked fab for camping and we would definitely go back to this site again, my only criticism would be is most of the touring pitches don't get any sun but you do get a lovely view of the mountains/forest.
Location, a couple of miles drive into fairbourne. There is a bus that can be taken from just outside the entrance.

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my nephew and dog as a 7th birthday present for him as he wanted to do proper camping as he calls it, I could not of picked a better site! We were greeted on arrival and given a map detailing directions around the park and we met in the car park down the hill and taken to out spot which was fantastic, was well secluded had our own slate fire pit and was close to an eco loo which was kept clean. On the Tuesday night they had a lady who came for story telling for the kids, this was lovely as it's something you don't often see lately, loads were gathered round the campfire with there toasted marsh mellows whilst listening to the story teller. It's also dog friendly. The site has a shop that caters your basics and also do fresh baked breads to order daily, the showers and toilets were very clean. While there we visited Barmouth in which we parked the car up just down the road and walked via the bridge that crosses over the Mawddach Estuary, highly recommend this walk if the weather is nice. We also went to Dolgellau Falls, absolute fantastic day out. Would highly recommend this site, it has some fantastic walks and is in easy reach of local shops yet far away enough to feel like wild camping in the middle of no where. It had different levels of camping to cater for all from camper vans with all hook ups to tents with just a grass pitch. All round fab site and all staff were friendly and helpful. Things I would recommend is a play area for kids, the tracks to have some form of gravel and may solar lights to make it easier to see when it's dark and easier to walk over. My biggest problem was I didn't stay longer!

Having visited this location in the past, I was impressed to see how it had evolved into a smashing campsite, with honesty shop, great pitches and views to die for.
The site is located between Fairbourne and Dolgellau and is within walking distance of both, so great for the family for cycling and walking.
We were greeted on arrive and enjoyed talking to the staff who were very accommodating and friendly. The washing, toilets and showers were clean too!
Thankyou Graig Wen!

We were really impressed with this campsite, not only was it affordable, we were also able to put our car on the pitch, and make a campfire. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, plenty of facilities, and felt very spacious. The views are stunning. We arrived quite late and the receptionist had left a little note with some firewood and kindling, which was very kind. We will definitely be staying here again, thank you :)

Location is awesome with so much to do in the immediate area. Our family enjoyed cycling, fishing, walking to the top of Cadair Idris and swimming at the fantastic local beach of Fairbourne. Site is well laid out, with great honesty shop, showers and toilets which are clean and well maintained.
The friendly staff complete the whole experience, knowledgeable, friendly and go the extra mile. Thank you Graig Wen for another great family break.

Just spent a week here. More emphasis on wild camping but did have a small area for caravans and motor homes I thought that the pitches were a little small but we had one of the panoramic pitches which overlooked the beautiful mawdaach estuary which is superb in all weathers. The shower Block was at the other end of the main reception and B&B building but was fine and they done really well with the little shop that was an honesty shop which serve really well and They had thought of quite a few things to put in it. Toilets were always clean. We had a good week mixed bag of weather but done a lot.
My only gripe. Why no shelter over the dish washing area?
I would return

What a fabulous campsite! This is a great introduction to wild camping - pretty wild but with water, toilets, and best of all - hot croissants in the morning. Great cycling into Barmouth or a lovely pub by the tollbridge a few miles in the other direction. Very friendly staff, couldn't ask for more. Only advise is that if you have young children then I suggest camping in the family fields at the top. I didn't trust my toddler with the compost toilet there was too much scope for disaster so we had to make a few walks up to the top of the hill.

I stayed here with 2 children over a weekend, what a glorious position they have, stunning views of countryside or estuary from most of the pitches. The pitches are large and well spread out so although you have neighbours it doesn't feel like it at all. Ours was a pitch and park meaning I ould park next to the pitch as some would be quite a hike on foot with all the gear although there are plenty of wheelbarrows for you to use. Toilets and showers were spotless and free, nice little honesty shop too. Only downside was the weather which was atrocious wet and windy resulting in 2 snapped poles. Would love to return in better weather to enjoy the scenery and also take the bikes as it has got direct access to the cycle path to either Barmouth or Dolgellu. Only marked down slightly due to the STEEP hill to get to the only showers and the slightly high charge for the car.

Perfect location, good facilities, friendly staff. I would recommend to my friends and family.
A few more pinic benches would be useful.

Picked about the worst week in June for weather! The site was well drained anyway. Showers and loos were very good and the honesty shop is brilliant. The path to the trail is a bit steep for bikes to negotiate but walking was OK. Walked to Barmouth but buses were less than frequent back so walked back over the bridge to the road from Fairbourne to Dolgellau to catch one that dropped us at the site gate. Hourly so check. Motorhome pitches were gravel and firm. 2 have a better 'view' so book ahead if you feel the need!Owners very friendly and helpful, bar the weather a great stay!
