Amazing campsite. In all honesty the campervan section was small and a little close to the road but that being said great access to showers, shop and toilets. The overall site is superb, lots of nooks and hideaway make this a joy to explore. Great walks 5 minutes from the main building.

I wish I could have pitched down in the main field which for tents is the complete opposite of the campervan pitch area. Huge areas, great privacy and amazing views. Loved my stay and will. Be back.

Having promised to take my other half to Graig Wen for some time we finally made it for one of the most glorious weeks of the year. Much of the essence of this wonderful place is as I remembered it many years ago, (when it had just opened)yet with some terrific additions. We camped for a cpl of days at Saltings View and then after a brief unavoidable trip home we returned for a few more days, pitched at Mawddach View. Neither pitches disappointed with incredible views over the estuary and up into the hills, soft grass underfoot and whispering Aspens above!

The Bog & washing up area are a real bonus. 'loo with a view' & with showers now on their way it only gets better.

Sadly only had 1 fire as the weather made it too risky with the excessive heat. Johnny and Jo were extremely friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble, making our stay instantly relaxing. Our mini break proved everything we had hoped for. Cant wait to return

Possible thoughts for the future;

Expand the Bog/Shower area to add a small honesty shop ( to save a hike uphill to the main shop. ). And possible solar fridge.

It may also be worthwhile getting a few bikes in for people to hire! We definitely would have done !

Thankyou Graig Wen. Hoping this is the beginning of many more memorable times.

Recently visited Graig Wen. Found it to be welcoming small site. Facilities whilst limited were exceptionally clean. Adequate range of supplies on offer in shop and an honesty box! Although positioned next to a busy road, it did not impede upon the calm feeling of the site. Liked the camp fire setting. My only gripe would be mixed shower facilities- but that would not stop me visiting again.

We booked one of the Panorama pitches which has stunning views. The site is beautiful and the staff are probably the nicest most helpful we have come across. The reception and honesty shop provide just about everything you could need. My kids loved the camp fire in the woods overnight toasting marshmallows. Great location for touring the area and we did the easy cycle into Barmouth along the old railway track. We will definitely be back.

A great campsite for a long weekend away, will definitely return! The views are fantastic, even from our pitch in the lower field where there is also direct access to the Mawddach Trail.

The campsite was fully booked but the pitches are spread out so there was plenty of privacy, there were only four tents in our field.

The facilities were very clean and we didn't have to wait long for the showers. There is also a mirror and plugs for hair drying etc.

It's quite a steep walk up to the shower block / car park from the lower fields. There are wheelbarrows available to shuttle your things back and forth and they offer to pick it up/drop it off on a buggy (we will definitely book this next time!).

Would absolutely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a 'wild-ish' camping experience.

My partner and I stayed here Friday-Sunday with our German Shepherd. The place is absolutely stunning, very picturesque and extremely relaxing. Unfortunately the stay was tarnished by a rather abrupt answerphone message from the owners whilst we were climbing snowdon.

I emailed ahead requesting the details of the pitch we had been allocated as there was no facility to book a specific pitch. I requested a quiet pitch as these are the only type of places we stay at. We arrived a little later than planned due to traffic but I called ahead to let the owners know who were fine and told us they would leave instructions to get to the pitch outside reception.

Upon arrival we searched around but no instructions had been left, eventually a gentleman came and drew us a brief and quick map directing us to the estuary fields and away we went. The fields were quite a walk from the car park but we don't mind that and will happily put the work in for a more remote pitch. We arrived at the estuary fields and pitched up in one of the two remaining empty pitches with stunning views over the estuary. It was perfect, even though the pitches on this field were quite close together this one was slightly further down so perfect for us to relax without worrying about the dog trying to explore other tents, we had one of the most relaxing night’s sleep camping yet!

The next day we braved Snowdon so were out early and back late, when we arrived back the other pitch had been filled with a very friendly couple. We later found that we had been allocated the pitch we were on via a very abrupt message from an employee of Graig Wen. We unfortunately didn’t receive the message until we were back late that night but I can only assume that we would have been expected to move pitches had we have been around which I find extremely ridiculous and rude. The couple meant for our pitch were happily set up and the booking still fulfilled, had I have been asked to move along one for the sake of a name on a computer screen I wouldn’t have been a happy customer.

The facilities are also very minimal with the shower block with working toilets and running water was approx. A 20 minute uphill walk from the estuary fields. There was a ‘tree bog’ composting toilet halfway between the estuary and family fields but I don’t believe that that is sufficient for the number of pitches and the facility for washing dishes was time consuming as you have to heat the water with a kettle (bring your own lighter or pay the price of trekking back).

For this reason I can’t say we will go back which is a shame as the site is beautiful, maybe the facility to view and book individual pitches would improve customer satisfaction. I’ve known other sites with unique pitches to do this and it enables customers to see what they are buying rather than pay for a pitch that wouldn’t be right for them. I’d also recommend better facilities for the lower fields as it felt a bit like we were in the ‘cheap seats’ and unimportant.

Me and my boyfriend stayed in the idris yurt for the weekend. Location was lovely and staff were so friendly and helpful.

We had help with our bags to and from the campsite via a buggy and was even offered this service when we just nipped to the shop for a few supplies (shop is only a 5 minute drive however the campsite does offer basic food/ drink supplies should you need them) plenty of facilities at the yurt such as cooking/ bbq/ fire pit. There is also a fire inside the yurt which you will probably need at night. Also a small mirror inside the yurt if you needed to do makeup however I took a stand up one to put on the picnic table outside as the yurt does get hot in the day.

The walk really isn't too bad up to the shower block from the summer location its got one little steep hill but its really not too bad. (I'm a moderate walker and pregnant) The showers were great to use and we didn't have to wait more than a few minutes to use. There is an electric hook up with a mirror at the showers so you can dry/straighten your hair if you need to.

The camp site isn't overrun with people yurts and tents are far a few and ours was full of privacy so no one else camping close by.

Would be nice to have had flushing toilets close by but if it doesn't bother you the toilet facilities you can use are close by.

Lovely walk via the mwaddach trail down to barmouth which takes a couple of hours. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone who wants a nice relaxing picturesque few days.

Graig Wen is a great little campsite! Even off -season it is in the most beautiful position overlooking the Mawddach Estuary which you can cycle or walk along in peace and quiet.

Good range of accommodation- B&B, self-catering, amazing looking yurts and camping pitches.

We had electric hook-up with hard standing - lots of space. The toilets and showers were warm and clean, showers always hot and free.

Great little honesty shop with all sorts in case you have forgotten something and a freezer of ice creams!

Local produce for sale i. E. Eggs/burgers and a 'book the evening before' breakfast croissant service.

Friendly owners happy to give local information. Only 10 minutes drive from Coed y Brenin Mountain Biking Centre with stunning forest rides at all levels. Relaxing 3 days at excellent rates.

Would definitely return and am recommending site to all our camping friends!

Great clean site, lovely free shower with a great little honesty shop.

Nice chatting with John before climbing Cadair.

2nd time of staying here, great views if you pay a little more for those pitches
