The site is part of a working farm and boy don't you know it,we were allocated a pitch right next to an occupied cattle shed, with all the associated smells and sounds, the site owners own dogs roamed free all over the site, which could pose problems for visitors with dogs (which must be kept on the lead on site), although in all honesty this didn't pose too much of a problem with our little dog
Being a working farm farm vehicles crossing the upper part of the site are a daily occurrence, perhaps not such a problem for the pitches at the bottom end of the site but a definite draw back to the 3 pitches (1 of these was ours) at the top end of the site.
The on site 'shop' is even more basic than the amenities and appeared to sell nothing other than kids toys, perhaps a few more essential groceries may be added to the shops stock list
The site amenities, ie Toilets and showers are pretty basic although clean & accessible 24 hours a day. The site has 2 taps for drinking water, but pitches do have electric hook ups
There's a kids play area
There's a local pub, 'the foxhound', within walking distance, which serves a good variety of beers as well as generously portioned meals if you buy off the main menu but we did find that if you purchased meals off the 2 for £12 menu, the portions were considerably smaller and the walk back up the hill to humble bee farm is a bit of a long haul on foot too.
Due to the moderate rain whilst we were there the site quickly became a quagmire as there are no hard standings and the tracks to and through the site are not paved, as a result heavy mud stains to our foot wear, clothing and our car were the order of the day
If your a walker, then this, perhaps, is the site for you, as the 'wolds way' passes the end of the site, Filey itself is within walkiing distance and there are 2 walks round the site/farm itself, 1 of 1/2 hour duration, the other of an hour's duration
There are several places of interest, inc 'eden camp' military museum, just a short drive away as is 'hearbeat' country, Gothland, where you can see the 'aidensfield' garage/scrips funeral services and enjoy a pint or 2 of real ale in the 'gothland' pub, which doubles as the 'aidensfield arms'
At £17 per night we have stayed at better value for money sites.

This was our first time camping with 5 children and we are didn't want to come home!.
This site is lovely and the children had an amazing time.Pitches are not too large so check size of your tent first. We met some lovely people.
Showers and toilets ok plenty of hot water, great washing up area and family/ disabled room. Shop stocks most basic things and the farm is set in the most beautiful setting.
Easy for scarborough / whitby and filey ( check out the bakery in this town!)
We will be back next year.9/10

We have just returned from a 2 day stay at Humble Bee Farm. It was our first outing at camping and we had a non EHU pitch. We arrived at 1pm, the earliest time to check in and the staff couldn't be more helpful. We were told the area where we could pitch up, but could chose the location of our tent.
There has been the addition of a new shower/wash area in the last few months, all very clean. My wife used the other shower block up near reception and she said that was also very well kept.
There is a small play area for children, which kept our 6 and 9 year olds entertained. If you have an EHU, they are right on the park you might not appreciate the noise.
As we stayed end of August beginning of September, we had lovely weather but on a night the temperature dipped quite sharp. The site offer a fire pit for £8, which is delivered to your pitch with a supply of wood. It kept us warm and we toasted our marshmallows!
We would recommend this site and we will be staying again.

Had a lovely week at humble bee farm.Shower/toilet facilities brand new and very clean. Very well situated for days out at Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington.
My only minor gripe was that the pitch sizes were very small and on the last night of our stay 3 huge tents and gazebos were put up directly behind the fence behind us and this led to some of them hopping over the fence and also a lack of privacy.
Children had a lovely time playing in the park and because it is so compact we could see them at all times, which to us was very reassuring. Every one seemed very friendly but to be honest we were out most of the time as there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area.
There are a few decent pubs a short drive away and also a morrisons supermarket about 10 minutes down the road.Overall a nice little site and would come back.

We have just had a fantastic week at this site. The site itself is fantastic with good, clean shower and toilet facilities with free hot water. There are 3 washing up sinks in the new wash up area that also has a fridge and microwave.
The site also has a washer/dryer and shop stocking basics.
The site is well kept with lovely walks and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
Also children can visit the donkeys, duck pond and see the hens and pigs.
Our pitch was on a slight slope which didn't affect us really apart from putting thing on the table - but we didn't bother!
As it was school hols there were lots of children about (which we liked for ours to make friends) and park was sometimes loudish in the evening but everything was quiet by 10 and people didn't really seem to make noise too early.
We will definitely return to this site as we loved everything about it. Its also in a great location for many different places.

Just had a brilliant week at Humble Bee Farm! This is probably the best site anyone wanting to chillout could wish for. The owners were really friendly and helpful.
A great place for kids to have a good time without being on an overcrowded, overpriced, site! Kids were out early looking for eggs, dog loved the great walks too.
Toilet blocks, showers, etc were all kept very clean all day, and the site was full all week. For anyone who stays on this site, you must hire a firepit off them! We had one on our last night here, wish we had had one earlier in the week.
We will definitely return to this great site

Our first time camping 2 adults and a 17 month old. It was a lovely campsite (we were lucky to get a cancellation) Little one loved the walks and animals.
The facilities were excellent and clean. It was lovely to have a family shower room. Our pitch was near the play area which meant it was noisy until 10pm but everyone adhered to the rules and at 10 the site was quiet.
Will definitely go back. Oh beware the site is up a 20% incline hill which our little car found difficult when laden down with a tent. It is ideal location for Filey and Scarborough. Shops are a short drive but the camp shop has basics in.

Once again we had a lovely time here. John and Julia who own the site are really nice people who work really hard to keep the site clean and looking good.
The new shower/toilet/washing up block is great with 3 large sinks for washing up and big toilets and a really big shower, great if you have little children.
The shop is stocked with the essentials like tea, milk and bread but Morrisons isn't far away to do a big shop.
The pitches are huge and you don't feel cramped at all. The children's play area is good for all ages and was well used.
It's nice to wonder about the farm looking at the animals and having them and the dogs around your tent.
There is no mobile phone reception on the site so you do feel that you are getting away from it all, but you can get reception at the top of the hill.
We had a meal at the Fox and Hounds near the site and the food was great, we wished we had gone at the beginning of the week rather than at the end so we could have gone again.
We definitely recommend this site.

We stayed on this site for three nights and wish it could have been longer. What a beautiful well kept site in a lovely part of the country. This is not a big site which we prefer. It was full over the weekend without feeling over crowded. Our pitch was right next to the playpark which was ideal for our two year old.
The new toilet / shower block was always kept clean. We were impressed with the wash-up area which has a microwave and fridge which guests can use at no charge. The family shower room was also a great idea.
Our children really enjoyed having all the animals close by. Unfortunately they were not lucky enough to collect any eggs during our stay. I was tempted to put a few of my own free range eggs in for them to find!
Overall we had a fantastic stay at this gem of a site and will certainly return. I just wish we didn't have so long to drive to get there.

Oh my goodness - so impressed with this site.
This is a small, friendly site and due to it's secluded location on a farm feels very safe.
I have already booked to return alone with my two daughters.
Most pitches are large, on a slight incline and on either side of the main drive. The drive is very quiet and we felt quite safe letting our children walk to the little playground alone.
The toilet facilities are newly built. They're quite basic but spacious. At the time we visited the washrooms had only been open a week and they had been giving the owners a few teething problems with them flooding and a rather earthy smell lingered but am sure this should have been sorted by now.
What impressed me was the fact that a fridge, microwave and plug in point were all provided free of charge compared to other sites who charge.
If staying would fully recommend hiring one of the wood burning stoves complete with wood. These were only £8 and lasted several hours during the evening.
Our girls loved the wildlife and thought visiting the farmyard animals was brilliant.
Would recommend - After visiting many sites over the last few years this is one we will stick with for years to come!
