We visited this site 11th - 13th Sept and have to say it's pretty much as described. Take care choosing your field though, some are quite sloped and a bit of a mission from the facilities at the farm house.
The facilities themselves are fairly basic but proved entirely adequate for our needs. Note to Mrs Seymour - The shower hose needs replacing on two of the units as most of the hot water runs off before making it to the shower head. Despite this I managed to refresh myself without waiting at all. Other's have mentioned the portaloo type WC's. Although our field was quite full, they stood upto the use rate without any emitting offending mess or smells.
Overall, the location is perfectly lovely, but we pitched (fairly) close to the road that runs by the farm and this was surprisingly busy at times.
The walks around the site are really nice and the views from Dragon Hill is well worth the effort. We where treated to impromptu Red Kite displays and some truly beautiful sun-sets.
Thankfully, although the site was quite busy, there was no undue noise (other than one particularly squeaky Child) and all was serene by 11.00pm.
It was nice to see the right spirit too: One young Mother on her own with two youngsters was having a proper old time fighting with her tent. I was keeping an eye (not sure how long one should wait before offering help??) When this couple walked over and had her set up in about 10 minutes - Good for you guys!
All in all, a really good place to visit, and a nice warm welcome to boot. Marked down slightly for the noisy road and slightly rustic, but adequate facilities.

Stayed for 1 night in September. It's almost like it's 4 campsites in 1 as there are 4 completely separate fields. Plenty of room in all 4 and was directed to Sheeplands, over the road from the main farm (and also the showers and washing up facilities).
Portaloos don't sound great but they were clean, so that's all that matters isn't it?
Lovely views, lush green grass, easy to get the pegs in and out. Had a lovely fire in the evening, admiring Uffington church lit up in the distance.
On Saturday afternoon, we walked up to the Ridgeway and along to the White Horse, then returned to the farm, who do delicious cream teas at weekends. On Sunday, walked across the fields to the Fox & Hounds pub at Uffington. More like a 30 minute walk if you have children. Food at the pub is outstanding value and very good quality. Sunday roast for £7.95 (kids £4.95) and delicious puddings too. Worth booking in advance if not planning to eat outside.
We'll return to the campsite, because it's near to home, the food at the pub was so good and it was a very relaxing location.

We used this site for a one night 'quick trip' as it was only one hour from us and I am very glad that we did.
The farm is a real working farm (the kids loved the chickens and also watching the harvesters etc and seeing the corn go into the sheds) and it is a lovely quiet place.
A quick walk takes you up onto the ridge (to join the famous 'ridgeway walk') where there is a large white horse cut into the chalk of the hill - returning back to the farm for a cream tea also proved popular (lovely scones).
There is a one mile walk across fields to the village of Uffington which has a pub 'fox and hounds' where the food was remarkably good whilst fairly priced with pleasant staff (and real ale).
There are various camping fields and we were certainly not crowded. Fires are allowed and a man comes round to sell logs for those that need them.
Showers are by the farmhouse as is washing up facilities - all fine and adequate. Plenty of portaloos provided in the fields and these were very clean etc.
It costs £6 per person with £3 for kids over 5, which is not unreasonable.
All in all a very nice location and well run site which I would recommend for a relaxing weekend.

Absolutely beautiful huge sites with lovely views. Masses of space between units and for kids to roam.
Toilets, wash up and showers basic but adequate. Showers and wash up a bit of a stroll but that was not a problem. Facilities were very clean when we got there Friday PM but could have done with a clean up over the weekend.
Very helpful, friendly and efficient service from all staff.
We had scones and coffee from the tea shop which were supreme! The tea shop is basic and limited to cream teas and flap jacks but they have clearly gone for quality over quantity.
We had a great weekend and will definitely be back.

We went here with 2 other families for a 2 night stay. I thought prices were very reasonable. Set up was well organised and we enjoyed pancakes (£1 each) on the saturday morning. Campfire arrangement with wood being brought round to tents was fine but you do have to buy theirs. The portaloos were well just portaloos but as clean as expected, so absolutely fine. The field we were in was on a bit of a slope but no major problem. The showers were OK (I tried the portacabin ones) though it's a little chilly dressing outdoors in the annexe/ lean-to bit. We didn't use the pot washing facilities as it was too much aggro going from the field where we were to the main farmhouse so we washed up where we were. I liked it, but probably a bit too basic for us for any longer than a couple of nights with a young child. An enjoyable experience overall though - pleased with it.

Well, with a new tent to try out before a major camping trip, and a 3yo son whom had never been camping before, what better way than to find somewhere close to home for a good nights camping.
Found Britchcombe through the search on UKCampsite.co.uk, and as it was only about 10 miles away from home, thought we'd give it a go, and what a surprise it was.
The site sprawls over a number of large fields, with good facilities, and plenty of room for the kids to play safely. The field we were in was sloping, but still had plenty of flat spaces to pitch.
The owner was very helpful upon checking in, and it was a nice touch to get a visit mid-evening to check everything was ok.
Overall, a very nice site, lovely location, a great base for walking, and nicely tucked away in the countryside.

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the peacefulness of this site
They were polite and helpful when I enquired about a pitch and were the same when we arrived and checked in. We were shown the facilities, location of bins, showers etc. and then directed to our field. We were told to pitch approx 7 mtrs from the next unit and pitch by a fire pit
You are not allowed to bring your own wood, or forage for wood in the woods and somebody comes around in a van selling you the logs, fair enough I think. We did not use the fire pit though, but all around us people were warming themselves and cooking on them.
We were in the field opposite the main entrance and this was rather windy, however a windbreak soon sorted this. The field had 8 porta loos, these were cleaned and kept tidy, smelt a tad, but nothing to put you off your tea. Showers were located by the cottage on the main site and were three porta showers located in a purpose built wood cabin (I think there were more, but did not find or use them). These were the power shower type and worked adequately and the space in the shower and changing area was plenty
Onsite you could by free-range eggs and a selection of muffins etc. I did not , so cannot tell you if they were nice
Walking direct from the site is in abundance and we walked to the Fox and Hounds in the local village for a pint which was about a mile or so, a pleasant flat walk (except for styles) and not bad on the legs at all. Other walking is available and you can walk for miles, up to the top of the White Horse, Waylands Smithy and beyond. Ideal if you are a walker.
Nearest village about a mile away selling what you need in the stores and local pubs.
Nothing for kids in terms of playgrounds, but acres of space for games and letting kids be kids.
£6 per adult per night, job done
Overall an beautiful setting, adequate and usable facilities and totally chilled chilled.

Had a great time staying only 1 night to test out a new tent. Stayed before with a friends and our children and have enjoyed both stays. We camped in a family field, our children had plenty of space to run around and make friends. The porta loos in our field had plenty of paper and where presentable. We did not use the showers as we only stayed one night.

This is a lovely site in a lovely area, looking up to the uffington white horse hill, you can't see the horse from the site but the view is still great.
If you like your walking the walks around the site are very good and the short 1.5 mile walk into uffington village through the fields and woods is very pleasant and not too taxing, in the village the fox and hounds pub serves well kept real ale and the post office / village store stocks your basics.
Longer walks will involve a walk up the famous hill to visit the iron age uffington castle / hill fort, from here there are various clearly marked footpaths and some good circular walks back to the site. This site will also attract people walking the ridgeway long distance national trail which passes a stones throw from the site.
The campsites facilities are portaloos in each of the fields and showers over at the farm, there was always enough toilets for everyone (no queuing)and were reasonably clean, I can't comment on the showers as we didn't use them. The site also has a nice tearoom serving excellent cream teas from 3pm on weekends and bank holidays, they also sell some basic provisions (tea bags, coffee, pasta ect)
Campfires are not only allowed but encouraged which is a real attraction for this site, a nice gentleman comes around in the evening to sell bags of logs and kindling (just remember to bring an old newspaper or firelighters to get it going)
The only moans I have of this site (although some may find it an attraction!) is the general rowdiness of the campers and the complete ignorance of the 10.30pm noise curfew, there was music blaring in one of the fields until the wee hours (large 40th birthday party) and everyone around us sat around the fires until very late talking and playing guitars ect. This may have been due to the noise from the party though.
The only other thing some might not like is the slopes, most of the site is sloping, not a lot but sloped none the less.
All in all a great site and one I will return to again and again.

We visited this site with 4 other tents and had a wonderful stay. Marcella who runs the site is very friendly. We had children in our group so we were put in the family field which has only one entrance and we were able to be far enough away from the road so they were able to run off the leash!
They do allow campfires here and the 'log man' comes round each evening for you to buy logs or you can alternatively call him to get a delivery if you run out or arrive late. Showers were free and clean, toilets on the farm side of the site were plumbed in but in the fields were clean porto loos. This is a wonderful site and we will definitely be back if only to try the cream teas which are served in the afternoons at the weekends.
