The pre arrival instructions were very clear and the staff on reception were very friendly and helpful.
The site was clean and well kept and with a large park, riverside walks and close proximity to the city, what's not to love?
I would happily come back again.

Lovely site tucked away near the centre of Cardiff.
Great cycle routes up the river taff or down river to Cardiff Bay and Penarth.
Great staff very helpful and polite.
It was our third visit and we will go again.
Toilets/showers do need updating but overall the park is definitely one of my favourites

After reading some reviews we nearly never came. We were very surprised when we did.
What a lovely site. We thought being near the city it would be noisy but it certainly wasn’t. Just beautiful birdsong and very peaceful. Staff were lovely.
Nice showers and toilets.
The pedal power cafe is very nice with reasonable prices.
Lovely walk along the river to the city centre. Lots and lots of great cafes and eatery’s. Wonderful castle to visit.
We then went on to Cardiff bay which was beautiful. Bus drivers were so helpful and kind. Great pizza express on the quay side.
One of the better sites we’ve been on.
Would love to come back one day.

Grass pitches not in use, hard stands okay with electric hook-up but not individually marked out properly, just like staying in a car park.
Shower water was hot, but handbasins and washing up area only warm water at best. No hand towels or dryer in the toilet area, some more work needs to be done for the future.

This site is literally 10 mins walk from city centre within Sophia Gardens next to Glamorgan Cricket Ground. We booked as we were going to see Simple Minds in concert.
The site itself, I have to admit, was winter tired and desperately needs spring to arrive and the rain to stop as the ground even hard standing was mucky, wet and in need of some tlc. Narrow pitches meant having to walk through a quagmire for ehu and water as they were situated on the grass areas.
The site has shared access to Cosy Cinema and Pedal Power and with this in mind, I didn't feel entirely comfortable with the security as to be honest, it it completely accessible to all. Not sure either that the 6 metre rule between units is adhered to on this site, units were closer to each other than that, maybe 3 or 4 metres.
£35 per night, is that usual for a city campsite? I'm now sat on a site in the middle of the Cheshire countryside with state of the art bathroom facilities, a fully accessible motorhome service point, free WiFi and glorious views, huge pitches, £23 per night. The Cardiff Caravan site served a purpose but with hindsight, I'd probably find a site a little out of Cardiff city centre and commute in for tourist stuff.

Pleasant staff, convenient location to Cardiff city, good for cyclists and dog walkers.
The pitches too close to each other, site and facilities look in need of updating, telephone signal poor.
Seems expensive at £35 a night.

Ideally located to explore Cardiff City Centre, yes surrounded by greenery, Sophia Gardens and the leafy suburbs of Pontcanna with it's great bars and even greater restaurants.
The site itself is well maintained and has a clean toilet and shower block.

What's not to like? A site close to both the cricket and rugby and within walking distance of the City Centre.
We had a grass pitch, with electric, well sheltered from the weather midway between the latrine blocks, a parking place off road next to the tent and ample parkland close by for youngsters or others to play.
Shower blocks were basic but cleaned regularly and had hot water, loo paper and plugs for the sinks.
My only gripe, if it is one, do they have a noise policy as for 4 of the 7 nights had neighbours who wouldn't keep the noise down after 11pm.
But hey, if that's my only moan.

What a great site, brilliant location 15 minuets walk and your in the middle of the city.
Only used the car twice to go to the supermarket.
Try The Cricketers pub just round the corner nice beer garden.
Quiet at night staff were friendly and helpful.
Only thing I could find wrong was the showers and wash ups needed updating.
Will definitely use this site again
