We were a bit concerned going to a park right in the centre of Cardiff but surprise surprise this turned out to be a brillant park for us. Although fairly compact the park offers plenty of hardstandings, however pitches are on the small size. In our case we were not using an awning so we had reasonable room on the pitch. The two facility blocks were quite good and clean. The site manager was very helpful and made our stay really enjoyable. This park is really geared up for short stays and as such is difficult to fault. Located next to Glamorgan Cricket ground and Shopia Gardens. We would definitely go there again if we wanted to visit Cardiff. If you are planning to go to this site you should book early as it is very popular especially when events are on in the City.

Stopped for the rugby league challenge cup final over the August bank holiday. 3rd year & again superb, clean facilities, hot water for showers readily available, very helpful staff. It's right on the doorstep of the Millenium stadium set in Sophia gardens, close to the cricket ground & the Institute of Sport. Joining on from this is Bute park, an extensive park that's well worth a stroll around. Running through this is the river Taff. You would never know you were slap bang in the middle of a city centre, it has a real country feel to it.
Unfortunatly the cup now moves to Wembley next year so it could be our last visit for a while. I hope it's been built on an old abandoned tin mine & the whole bloody lot falls down it, then we can re-enjoy Cardiff city, it's people & it's prime site camping park.

December 2004 We stayed one night to take our daughter to see Balamory at the Cardiff International Arena. The campsite was better than the show ! It's not really a holiday park, and the utilities like Motorhome waste point could be better located, but all in all, it served our purpose well. Its a pleasant 25 minute walk (initially through a park bordering the river Taff) with a 4 year old to the Cardiff International Arena or approx £6 taxi ride. Staff were friendly and helpful.

August 2004 This is a small but very well kept site in a lovely location within easy walking distance of the city centre. There are good toilet / shower / washing up facilities. Cost just over £10 for two people with a tent and a car. Would advise people to book in advance and ask for directions, as (as previous reviewers have said) it is not the easiest of places to find. For those with children, there is a huge field and playground in the park not far from the campsite. Would highly recommend this site.

July 2004 Nice clean site, but quite small. No shop but only 15 - 20 mins walk to main city centre. Enjoyed our stay very much and only negative comment is that it is not well signposted. It is past the cricket club Sophia Gardens.

Fa cup final I used this as a base for the footy and it was not too crowded. Mainly caravan based but quite a few tents there. Very friendly and helpful wardens. Short walk to city centre through beautiful gardens. Toilet and shower blocks spotlessly clean. Not a lot for the kids to do on site. No playground but lovely parkland surrounding. I will be back.

Many visits over the years The location is superb, right in parkland by the river Taff. You can cycle many miles along the Taff trail (cycles may be hired at the site). It is a 15-20 minute walk into the City centre. The site is open all year and has good facilities and the wardens are very helpful. The site can sometimes get full when events/exhibitions are on in Cardiff though. It is one of my favourite sites.
