This site was ideal, to watch the One Day Cricket International, at the Swalec Stadium. The facilities at the site were very satisfactory. Toilets and Showers were very clean, Wardens were helpful and friendly. There is bike hire on site (pedal power) also a café. City centre is within walking distance. £30 a night, I found a bit expensive, but with the location, right next to the Cricket ground, it saved us getting Taxis, etc.

Love this site! Beautiful people running it, helpful and friendly.
Within very easy walking distance of Cardiff City centre, Bute Park, and is quiet and peaceful. We've stayed here more times that we can remember, and love it - going back in July!
Toilets and showers:
Huge, immaculately clean, hair dryers, basins. All you could wish for; showers big enough to walk around in;
Rubbish:
Loads of bins all over the site, never full or overflowing, and never smelly;
Wi-fi:
Free;
This site is really lovely. It's small, but because it's long rather than spread out (if that makes sense) it feels really tiny and personal. There's a cafe on site, but we've never needed to use it, and the absence of a shop isn't an issue because there are so many shops and restaurants within very easy walking distance. It charges more than the average for electric hook-up per night (£30) but given it's proximity to Cardiff City Centre, it's good value. A hotel for the night would cost at least twice that much, and you'd still have to pay for meals out.
The only thing which bugged us (though 2 years ago - it might all have changed since then!) was that there were about 8 or 10 soggy pitches which were unusable. Not rocket science to sort them out, so hope that they have before we arrive in July.

What a great location within spitting distance of Cardiff city centre, staff really helpful 90% grass pitches with EHU and own water supply. Freeview/Sat reception fine. 2 Shower blocks practical if not luxurious(reminded me of local leisure centre facilities)kept clean so no complaints. Both tourers and campers catered for with park next door for kids to run amoke. Taff trail runs along river Taff was great for cycling and could get anywhere you wanted to be in Cardiff by using trail. The big issue is theft, whilst we were there a number of bikes were stolen despite being secured, I know the site staff are doing everything they can and because of the frequency of incidents during our stay the police have stepped up activities to catch these mindless thugs. Really needs a full security overhaul to put this site back on the map.

“lovely jewel in cardiff
I have spent the last 8 or so years at this caravan park. It is a JEWEL in the middle of Cardiff city centre. Costs are very reasonable for pitches, £25 per electric pitch, per caravan. Modern wash facilities. Very quiet. The café on sight is very good. It opens between 0930-1000. Pending on time of year. The breakfasts are very good, nearly the full monty for the price. The staff are very polite and helpful. I would recommend this place to any camper or caravanner.
Local shops and bars are all within walking distance. The closest is the The Pig, just as you come in to the park. If you leave by the back gate, you are only five minutes from shops and restaurants.

Camped 3 nights in glorious hot weather. Very impressed with site, friendly and efficient welcome/reception. Didn't need to use the car at all, walked to local pub in evening and into Cardiff and Cardiff Bay. Facilities very clean and adequate
(though it seems to be mainly Camper Vans so may get a little stretched if more tents. )
Very little noise considering so close to city, and beautifully situated with walks through park and along river. Would definitely return.

We stayed for one night to fit round a visit to Cardiff. The site is a located in the city in reach of all the tourist highlights and is set in a large park so although in an urban area has a pleasant green feel.
The pitches are good sized on reinforced grass standings so keep a green feel about the site. The pitches have electrical hook up and water points. The toilet and shower block are modern and well maintained with a key code. The site opens up into a park so you can get out for a run or a dog walk. This could be a security issue but it seemed safe and secure while we were there. The staff were unobtrusive but were able to offer advice on where to park and how to get round the city and a map came with the arrival pack.
We visited the Cardiff International White Water Centre and the international swimming pool. Which was great fun for kids and grown up kids as well. The pool was a really good price for a day out. In the same area was all the major super markets and other big shops, this was all about two miles away. On the Sunday we visited the Dr Who experience which was a more expensive excursion, but worth it for dedicated Who fans. On the Sunday we able to park for free down on Cardiff Bay.
The site is excellent for a visit to Cardiff, the price at £30 a night is the only factor that I would say you need to be aware of. Nice aspects and helpful staff.

This was our fifth visit to this site and to be honest, we only used it because I had a hospital appointment nearby.
I have nothing but praise for the staff who work there as they are extremely friendly, helpful and hard working.
However, 'management' (that is the council) were happy to increase the price to £25 last year and our follow up visits didn't inspire us to revisit.
The general concensus about this site is that it is superbly located, just minutes walk from the city centre. But, (and it's a big but), there are issues concerning the state of the ground.
Although listed as hardstandings, they are mostly on grasscrete blocks and over the years the grass and levels of mud have got too much.
Having said that, as it was fairly quiet, they managed to keep everyone parked on the terra firma without going on the grass, and they have provided two new tarmac pitches, although these are very small indeed.
Each time we visit, there are fewer and fewer vans on site (OK, Wales were playing away!) and I think this is down to visitors not feeling they are getting value for money.
Should improvements continue, we will probably revisit sometime, as the city really has a lot to offer.
One thing I must mention is that friends of ours had their 2 bikes stolen when staying there in January. Please note that there is public access through the middle of the site at all hours.
I don't want to frighten you, but just be aware!

On the anniversary of our last visit, we would love to stay in this wonderful location again, However, our bikes were stolen during our last stay, even though they were secured to our bike rack. I have just read the recent reviews and see that there have been more bike thefts recently. Cardiff really needs to fence the site and provide effective security. Baltic Wharf Caravan Club Site in Bristol provides an example of the sort of security needed. Please take note, Cardiff.
It may be impossible to deter all thieves but this site, with public paths running through and alongside it and gaps in the hedges, almost invites theft.
Our confidence in motorhoming has been compromised and we have no confidence in Cardiff Caravan Site.
I must add that the staff are pleasant and helpful.

First time on this site and was very surprised. The site is very clean and well run the toilets and shower blocks are clean, with a nice little cafe on site that does breakfasts and light meals. Walking distance to city centre and Cardiff Castle. The park has lovely walks and is dog friendly. The site is also dog friendly with some lovely pubs and restaurants nearby. We have just booked a two night stay for Cardiff Carnival and looking forward to it

Lovely setting with lovely walks along the river and through the parks. City within walking distance which was good. Staff very friendly and helpful, facilities were good, showers kept very clean with plenty of hot water.
Only downside of the site is that they would of benefited from having proper concrete hardstanding. They did have some but they were not large enough and the motor homes had loads of problems manoeuvring as it was all churned up with the heavy rain. Drainage was very poor.
