Just completed my 15th visit to this site and as always had a fantastic time, great location wonderful setting, the most helpful staff you could ever wish to meet, as for all you Moaning Minnies out there get a life and find another pastime as camping and caravaning is for happy people, ps if you need more water while showering all you have to do is press the knob again.

We have spent three nights at this site - wonderful. The site was in good order, the toilet/shower blocks were clean and warm and the staff very friendly, who we informed that the hand drier was not in good working order - next day - a new one installed.
The location is all. Fantastic park and walks along the river Taff. We walked all the way to Cardiff Bay, which took us the best part of hour, but caught the Aquabus back, which made a nice change.
There seems to be a lot going on in Cardiff throughout the year, and well worth a visit.
The cost, for us, is on a par to others we have stayed in, but the location is the best so far. The site has a cafe, and also, a bike hire facilities which is well used by visitors and locals alike. Again, the staff at both are friendly.

We have just had a lovely weekend at this site, fantastic location near to the park, river and river boat for a trip to Cardiff bay, and Cardiff City, which is a lovely city. Doctor who experience good and bus tour a great way to see the city.
Staff on site were very friendly and helpful, facilities clean just slightly dated. Showers nice and hot.
Would have happily stayed a lot longer.
The lady (Sally ) In the coffee shop very friendly also.
Bike hire on site and ideal place for cycling.

This was our 2nd stay at this site. Excellent location within easy walking distance of the city centre, so close to all amenities and rail/bus transport.
Site was very busy on both occasions that we stayed here and the campers parked cars made it difficult to manoeuvre into our allocated space. That said, the staff were very helpful, the facilities were clean with lots of hot water.
There is a small cafe-type place on site run by volunteers and associated with the cycle hire place. Their cakes are delicious, but if you want a veggie breakfast - well suffice it to say that it took an hour to get it!
Don't let that put you off though - the bacon baps smelt delicious. Not the cheapest site around, but for the location it is good value.

My husband and I stayed here with our two sons over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
The directions given by the site were excellent and we found the site easily. Booking in was easy and pleasant and we were shown to our pitch by one of the wardens. Unfortunately, due to a badly positioned hook-up post the original pitch was not suitable because it would not have accommodated our awning. We were quickly given the pitch next door, the site wardens being very helpful with this. It had been a bit wet over the previous few days and the grass pitches were very soggy. It was extremely muddy across (and around) all of our pitch and I was glad we'd packed wellies. Despite it then being dry and sunny the site never dried out (even though the playing fields across the road did).
The layout at first seemed quite orderly but as more units arrived over the weekend the site started to look a bit 'messy' and rather crowded, with some of the pitching arrangements appearing quite random. Cars were parked on the paved areas at the end of pitches which gave a feel of a car park rather than a caravan site. Another problem with the randomness of the pitching was that people were constantly cutting through between pitches and often walking straight across other people's pitches. The pitches around us really needed mowing and everywhere looked like it needed a good tidy. There were lots of little things that just made the whole site appear quite unkempt. With a bit of regular maintenance it would have looked so much nicer.
There were two toilet blocks but I only visited the one furthest from reception. This was kept clean and the shower mop was being used by other campers to ensure the facilities stayed clean. However, I used the toilets one morning and one of them had run out of toilet paper. They had already been inspected/cleaned that morning but when I returned later, after our day out, there was still no loo roll despite the record showing that they had been inspected again that afternoon. My husband also commented that the men's toilet block had run out of loo roll one morning after the cleaning had been done. I know this is quite a minor point to pick up on, but with the prices they're charging I think things like this should be addressed.
The location of the site is excellent. It is on the Taff Trail, and there is a bike hire shop with café on the site. The walk into Cardiff Castle and city centre takes about 15 minutes along the river and through a very nice park. There is a river bus stop about 10-15 minutes walk away that goes to Mermaid Quay, Cardiff's waterfront. In the other direction, about 20 minute walk, or five minute drive, is a large Tesco Extra.
It was great to stay on a site where we were able to go several days without using the car, and we really enjoyed all the attractions that Cardiff has to offer, but we probably wouldn't return to this site unless the condition of the site, particularly the pitches, was improved substantially.

I have to leave this revue because of some of the bad revues we read before coming. This is a fantastic site what other city in the UK has a site in the best part of the city a 10 min walk to Cardiff Castle and city centre. A 2 min walk to the upmarket restaurants of Pontcanna. Set in the beautiful bute park and on the Taff trail. Very quiet for a city centre. Plenty of hardstanding pitches for the winter, with lovely grass pitches for the summer, all with hook up and water very clean and well kept. With a lovely cafe with cycle hire on site. The showers and facilities were clean warm and very good, plenty of hot water, hairdryer and plenty of room. Friendly helpful staff. I don't know what sites the other reviewers are comparing this site with, but for its fantastic location the cost was reasonable.

This site is ideally placed for Cardiff, 15 minute walk to the centre with frequent buses to Cardiff Bay. There is also a water bus weather permitting. Facilities clean and warm, showers good with plenty hot water. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Nicely situated in gardens and park. A little bit pricey but have paid more for worse.

This is a site we have used many times. But only reluctantly this time :o(
The fees have escalated to more than £30 per night for what remains a poorly maintained site - albeit in an excellent location.
Prior to the price increases we have booked stays of several nights and supported local businesses. But no longer at these prices! The council have got this seriously wrong by pitching prices at a level that discourage people from staying. The site was more than half empty and they simply lost bookings a more reasonable fee would encourage.
The shower cubicles are tired and smelled unpleasant. A man did arrive to clean them - at 0845 in the morning much to my wife's irritation! The showers dispense water for just ten seconds before needing a prod to restart. Sinks have taps that shut-off instantly unless you hold them and no plugs - making hand-washing difficult and shaving impossible. The Chemical disposal point is gross and doesn't even have a hose to rinse out tanks.
Basically this is a convenient (but expensive) car park with rudimentary washing facilities.

Stayed on the site for 2 nights. Great location only 10 minutes walk from city centre.
Found the site to be very clean and tidy although the shower blocks could do with a revamp. Extremely helpful wardens, went out of their way to help when we had problems with our gas supply. Will definitely be back again

I think the owners must have taken notice of some of the bad reviews on here - because none of them were applicable when we stayed there last week.
We stayed for just one night as myself and my daughter were visiting Cardiff University Open Day and Cardiff is a long drive for us. We arrived after the office had closed, but when I booked I asked about this, and as promised, our pitch details were left in the pigeon holes outside the office door.
The site was well kept and clean. It was lovely and quiet (we did think it might've been noisy being in the city centre). It is in a great location. It was ideal for us to walk over to the University, but would be equally good for anyone wanting to spend time visiting any of the attractions of Cardiff.
It is quite an expensive site - but worth it for the location.
