Beautifully kept campsite with some great pitches. The website is fantastic as it is like a google earth map of the site and you can pick your pitch. The loo's are great, good facilities generally. We paid extra to have a tv point! Well it was our honeymoon, so I thought I would splash out!
On the negative side, as it is so well kept, there is quite a bit of mowing going on and once I noticed it, the drone of the machine started to bug me. The shop wasn't open all day but that was only a minor point and it was a shame that the on site pub only opened in the evening, especially as the world cup and Wimbledon were on. Sadly, the landlords said they tried opening in the day last year and it wasn't busy enough to stay open.
But for me, the pub was a huge positive. It is run by Lee and his lovely wife Alex and amongst other drinks, they serve Doom Bar & Betty Stogs. Yum! Even better were Lee's fabulous Steak and Ale pie. Oh my god, it was packed with meat and absolutely delicious.
If you want close to town camping then ayr campsite looks great and if you want surfing then campsites nearer Hayle are better. But make no mistake, despite some minor minor negative points, this is a really lovely campsite and I would happily go back again. Especially for some more Steal and Ale pie!

This is the best site by far we have stayed on outside of the Caravan Club sites, you just cannot fault it and I am fussy where I park my motor home. The facilities block is of a very good standard and kept spotlessly clean with instant hot water in the taps.
The bus service from just inside the site gate is extremely useful, it is a hard walk back from St Ives up that hill. We did not use the bar/takeaway or swimming pool so cannot comment on these. Top marks Polmanter and your staff, we will be back!

Wow, we think we found our perfect site (or as close as possible to it!)
Despite the fact that we didn't have the best of weather we had a really great time at Polmanter and we are now trying to work out when we can fit in a return visit to this beautiful Park.
The site has it all and there were no negatives that we could think of. Lovely Reception staff, immaculate toilet blocks (with underfloor heating. Heaven!), nice size, clean swimming pool, bar and conservatory where we had a lovely big meal (nice not to feel ripped off for a change) games room, tennis courts and a free putting green.
All this and only a mile walk down a country lane to St Ives (prepare yourselves for the walk back 'though as it's a steep one!)
We chose the multi-service hard standing pitches which were in a new field (Rosewall) arranged in three tiers at the top of the Park, giving lovely views down to St Ives and the sea. They were really spacious and well laid out but saying that we had a good walk around and would've been happy with any of the pitches there and some of the grass ones were huge!
First class site 10/10.

What a lovely park. Nice location, with plenty of spacious private ( hedged) pitches. Very efficient and warm welcome with clear instruction to get to the pitch. Lovely clean facilities, very modern, looked brand new. Initially surprised at the cost but actually, you do get what you pay for, and would have no qualms about visiting again. It was our first trip in our tourer, and we were very pleased.
Many of the camping pitches looked cut and filled, making them level. Park was probably about 3/4 full when we visited, but we did not get the impression of lots of people, and we did not have to queue for any showers. A great start to touring!

Large well run site. The marked pitches are all of good size, and you pick your pitch at the time of booking.
We had poor weather while there, but the holiday was helped by the Games room (Table Tennis, pool)and heated swimming pool on site. Kids also enjoyed the separate field for kite flying, football etc.
Modern facilities, including some individual shower rooms.
Bus into St Ives is useful to avoid having to park in the town, or when used in conjunction with the walk into town.

Another fantastic week at this amazing campsite. Spotless as always. I really can not fault staying here, it is a total pleasure. Brilliant location within walking distance of st Ives, Carbis bay and Lelant (depends how much you like walking)
Lelant has a vast and dog friendly beach whilst all the other beaches have a seasonal dog ban between 8am and 7pm. The campsite has a good dog exercise field behind reception with poo bin.
All facilities are great, pool, bar and well stocked shop.Showers are amazing, clean and warm and we have never had to queue yet. Staff are always friendly and there to help, should you need them.
I recommend a trip to Lizard and Lizard point make sure you buy one of Annes pasties, the best we tried by far !
Also do not miss a trip to the Minack outdoor theatre, even if you don't see a show, its a must to visit.

Does what it says on the tin. And more.
Well deserving of its 5* rating.
Excellent site, well cared for in every way. Wonderful warm cheery greeting. Pitch was huge. We have a twin axle and put up a 3m awning. Plenty of space for car. Not all cramped, able to retain privacy.
Shower / toilet facilities were the best in layout, size and quality and cleanliness of any we have visited.
The grounds were immaculate, everything you could need was on site either in the form of the well stocked shop, with sensible opening hours/ kiddies play facilities / tennis courts / swimming pool. And the bar / restaurant.
Excellent public transport available from entrance of park if needed. Beautiful walks around the site.
All staff were friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Would recommend this site without a doubt.

Just coming to the end of a 10 day holiday here and what a holiday!, I have been caravanning for 25 years and I would describe this site as one of the best I have ever stayed on.
I would suggest that when you ring to book you will find it usefull to be on their website at the sametime as the reception staff will help you to pick a suitable pitch by giving you the available pitch numbers which you can then have a look at on their incredible website.
The highlights of this site are as follows:
Warm welcome - helpful and very well informed staff - Great views from most pitches - Loads of fully serviced pitches - Great wifi internet for £10 a week - Lovely heated outdoor pool - excellent bar with decent pub grub - a lovely 20 minute walk into St Ives - direct bus to/from town for £1.
Downsides were 1. Conditions could get windy at times so tie down required for awning. 2. The van patrolling site needs to adhere to the campsites 5mph speed limit, at times it seemed to be buzzing around at around 25mph
Getting out and about is easy, there is a regular bus service from Halsetown village(5 mins walk) to Penzance where you can get buses to anywhere you might like to go.
There is also one of Englands prettiest railway lines, the St Ives to St erth branch line, it runs alongside the coast, with great views of lovely beaches.£4 buys a jump on/off ticket for the day.
One day out I could thoroughly recommend is The Isles of Scilly, we took the Skybus flight from Lands end to St Marys(20 mins) and returned on the Scillonian by sea (2hrs 45 mins),we even had time to jump onto one of the many island hopping boats to visit the outstandingly beautiful, sub tropical gardens(return boat and entrance to gardens is £12.50).
I now cant wait to get my holiday dates for next year so I can book this site again

Me and my husband have just returned from what was supposed to be a 5 night stay.Loved it so much we stayed for 10 nights.
The campsite is immaculate, friendly and relaxed. Facilities included a good bar/restaurant. Heated outdoor pool. Well stocked shop with lovely staff. The best showers and toilets we have ever come across. You can walk to St ives from the site which takes about 20 mins and well worth the walk as St Ives and its beaches are stunning. If you don’t want to walk buses run regularly from the entrance to the site. Tent pitches are large and very well kept and most have their own hedge around it offering lots of privacy. Beautiful area to visit, weather was wet and windy most of the time but even that didn’t spoil it, just working out when we can go again ! Brilliant.

We have just returned from a lovely holiday at Polmanter. The pitch was a good size, with hedges on three sides for extra privacy and wind protection.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially the Reception staff on check-in.
The toilet facilities were the best I have experienced, and I only had to queue once, at which point I went to the next block (very close by), and found it to be empty.
The bar and conservatory area were very pleasant. The food in this area was good quality and average price. The takeaway, however, was a different story. We ordered pizzas and a baked potato. When we got back to the tent, the pizzas were found to be black and unrecognizable as to the flavour. The cost of these was £6.95, and they were also very small. The baked potato was very nice though.
The walk into St Ives took about 30 minutes with 2 children. I wouldn't recommend doing this walk loaded up with beach chairs etc.
All in all this site deserves it's 5 star rating, and we will definitely return next year.
