A great family site that seems to have thought of everything.
We always have our hols before the kids break up, so obviously it was a lot quieter than it will be soon!
The facilities are clean and the site is immacculate and staff friendly and helpful.
Beware though that this is a very windy site, so be prepared to tie down everything!
The Stable Bar serves a fantastic local real ale called Betty Stogs, and the food is good too.
On our last day it started to get too family orientated for us with Bingo Bill etc. But this is what the site is about and I'm sure it will give many holidaymakers a memorable holiday.
There is an hourly bus service into St Ives from the site for £1 and the last one back is at 10.55pm. Or you can walk in down a footpath and it takes about 20 mins.
The pool has an adults-only hour at 9.00 in the morning.
We will be back.

Highly recommended. This is a lovely well maintained site. There are plenty of facilities, never had to queue for showers even though the site was quite full.
Large pitches, well stocked shop, friendly staff. The pool was lovely and warm and very clean, welcome on the scorching hot days we had.
Had breakfast from the takeaway on the last day, it was so reasonably priced we did wonder why we had bothered to cook breakfast during our stay.
We had a dog with us and pitched on Morvah which is close to dog walking area. If you were pitched on the far side of the site persuading doggy to make it all the way to the exercise area before they make themselves comfortable might have be tricky.
Wind break essential as the site can be quite blowy even though the pitches to all have hedges around them.

We have just returned from a weeks camping at Polmanter Touring Park in St Ives.
We had a lovely time in St Ives and the site was fantastic, we had a lovely sheltered pitch surrounded by trees (pitch 95) and not far from a spacious and clean shower block which also had a number of family shower rooms.
The bus service which operated from the site to St Ives was very handy and reasonable at £1 per journey and also allowed dogs, but the walk from the site to the town was also pleasant.
Meals at the restaurant were good value and I believe a lot of the menu consisted of local Cornish produce.
We found the shop handy and convenient especially for breakfast croissants and milk. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful and advised us on local walks and attractions in the area.
It was our first visit to St Ives, the weather was superb and we would definitely return.

Thanks for continuing to give us great reviews everyone. We would just like to clarify the situation regarding the site bus. Those lucky enough to have stayed with us so far this year have enjoyed using the service for free. However, this was due the bus operator's licence renewal being held up. This has now been resolved and so he is charging bus fares as usual. Prices remain at £1 for adults and 50p for children. Of course you can still walk to St Ives from here along the beautiful footpath.

Just got back from a three night stay at this site, which we picked from reading reviews on here. Lovely site, good facilities shower and toilet blocks were spotless, heated swimming pool, tennis court, pool room. Managed a few games of pool never got to use swimming pool or tennis court. Good idea free bus into St Ives and back. WARNING if you go to St Ives and get anything to eat watch the gulls they are dangerous my fiancee had her ice cream cone snatched out of her hand whilst eating eat and they were trying to grab our fish and chips later on. Pitches are well laid out good size with hedges in between lovely views.
Staff very helpful and friendly will definitely return to this site and would recommend it.

We went at spring bank break for 5 nights with another family and had a fantastic time. We were able to choose our pitches when we booked so we were together with hedges around us. We were on Levant field and it was perfect. Yes the site can be windy and one night we put in extra pegs but the site is high up and you get lovely views. We were lucky enough to take advantage of the free bus into St Ives but even though you are now charged its still worth it! The children loved the pool and playgrounds and we felt they were safe going around the site on their bikes. The showers and toilets were spotless and the site was busy. We will be back. Loved it.

Absolutely loved this site! We were on pitch 229 in Morvah and had spectacular sea views! We were very close to the immaculate, spacious, well thought out and modern toilet block. I loved it that there was an area were you could plug in your own hairdryers / straighteners (or use the hairdryers provided) in front of a huge mirror!
The shop stocked all essentials, the staff were really helpful and the bus service from the site into St Ives proved really useful! There is a restaurant / bar and swimming pool on site, but we didn't get round to trying these.
We absolutely loved St Ives with all its beautiful beaches, great shops and lovely restaurants! This was a wonderful site, which makes a really good base for visiting this part of Cornwall and we have even booked to go back in July!

What a fantastic site. Very large pitches, immaculate toilet block. Outdoor pool lovely and warm - so much so that it was sometimes warmer to go in the pool with the kids than sit watching them (but that's the problem with British summers lately)and when they weren't in the pool we would find the children enjoying the playarea which they confirmed was Fandabby Dossy. Great walk into St Ives (approx 20 mins) and great to be able to catch the bus back. Will definitely be going back to this little gem

We visited Polmanter for ten days at the beginning of September, the park is truly lovely!
Everything was spotlessly clean, the showers and toilet facilities were excellent. Our pitch was large and level and despite really bad weather for several days of our stay the ground did not water log. The swimming pool was great, very clean with it's own changing rooms and showers, tennis courts and children's areas all super. The surrounding area is amazing, there is so much to see and do and the location of Polmanter was central to both St Ives and only 15 minutes from Penzance where the ship sails from to the Scillys (definitely worth a visit!).
The only negatives I can think of for Polmanter were the fact that it is located on top of a hill and when it's windy it takes the full force, we were surprised our awning was still in place one morning! The other negative was the site restaurant, we only ate there once and didn't go back. We felt that it was expensive for the standard of food they serve. Our meal was on the table in front of us within five or ten minutes of ordering, it was obviously all pre prepared food and at nearly £10 for steak and kidney 'ping' it made more sense to go into St Ives most evenings for fresh, quality food for similar, if not less money!
We would definitely return to Polmanter but avoid the restaurant.
A very nice site, thank you Polmanter!

This campsite is extremely well maintained with good sized pitches, some enclosed by hedges. They are more than happy to accommodate your requests as to where you want to be sited, subject to availability, which is great if you have been before and know exactly where you want to be. The staff are friendly and the pool is clean and is heated. The shower block was kept clean on a regular basis. There is an excellent bus service available from the campsite straight into St Ives or a 20 minute walk across fields. This is invaluable as parking in St Ives is a nightmare. The shop was small and could do with opening a little more during the day, however, Tescos is only a 5 minute car journey away. The only negative point is that the campsite is very windy. This was our second trip in one year to this site, the first being in the May half term when our tent was battered in severe winds - never again and hence why we now have a caravan! We found there was plenty to do and the campsite reception was well stocked with leaflets of places of interest.
We ate out at two restaurants whilst staying here, one was at 'Coast' overlooking the sea which served the usual and catered well for children at a reasonable cost. The second was at 'Blue Fish' where the food was gorgeous but expensive but in my opinion not loads on the menu for my children to eat. Would definitely go back to this campsite.
