Rubbish! Don't stop here, go elsewhere! Only kidding, just don't want anyone else to find out about this top class site and book all the pitches. Just spent a long weekend there and a great time, large pitches most with a high hedge around them, some with hookups, best toilet/shower bock ever, (new one) lots of showers and toilets with lots of hot water, and best of all the showers are free no, 20p needed here! Nice walk into st Ives but get the bus (70p) back as its all up hill. Big outdoor pool which is heated, not much room around the pool area so not sure how it would cope in the peak season. New kids play area close to the bar so you can sit outside having a drink and keep an eye on the kids. On site pub was nice and they do good food, a little more expensive than some but not to bad. No entertainment but that's a plus for us, nice and quite. The site is on a hill, so it can be a little exposed. We really enjoyed our stay even if the weather was not very good (bad winds one night but our monty 6 held up well) In fact we liked the site that much we booked for 2 weeks next year while we were there! you will not be disappointed.

Lovely site - first time visit for us. The pitches were incredibly generous in size. The interactive booking page helps with pitch selection. Ours was really level, with a sea view. The toilet block was kept to a high standard. The individual shower rooms would have benefited from the placement of a mop and bucket so each user could quickly mop up excess water and leave the area cleaner for the next user. A hook next/above each wash basin would have been useful for towels etc. The pool was a welcome attraction at the end of a hot sticky day. We enjoyed the walk down to St Ives - but always got the bus back again! At 70p per adult it was cheap! The site was very well maintained. We used the 'Stable Bar' a couple of times and found it very welcoming. The play area looked very well built and seemed to attract the few children on site while we were there. The staff at all levels were very friendly and pleasant to deal with - we will return!

We have camped at many sites and I think this is probably the best one we have stayed at. Facilities excellent, good sized pitches, lovely showers and clean, they even have private shower rooms for families. We used the outdoor pool even though the weather wasn't great the kids really enjoyed it. Good play area - overall a very well organised site. It was also unbelievably quiet in the evening! A great website too, you can even zoom in and choose your pitch! Only negative comment was we were camped underneath an overhead cable, which my hubby isn't keen on and there was lots of seagull droppings on the tent during our stay! NB If you do visit this site and have a BBQ guard your food carefully - a seagull made off with our sausages!

We visited this fantastic site the week before the Spring Bank Holiday and it was virtually empty. We have an 18 month old and thought the facilities were excellent and well thought out. The family shower block provides large rooms for complete families to occupy but we mainly used the large sinks to bath her. I would recommend to others to take something to make the sink non slip like some sort of bath mat, but apart from that there are no complaints. The weather was unusually wet and cold for that time of year but the heating was on constantly. The new shower block facilities near the Morvah field were immaculate and they provide private rooms with toilet, sink and shower. There are 2 public foot paths taking you into St Ives. We were able to take our buggy over the shortest path but had to lift it over a stone wall and style at either end and dodge cows along the way. You definitely need 2 people for this. The walk was lovely and we didn't mind the walk back either as the site bus service was not yet running. All the staff were friendly and helpful, even when all my plastic-backed bibs melted to the tumble dryer drum! Be warned, the tumble dryers are industrial strength. The electric hook up was well worth it otherwise we'd have spent all our time in the wonderful pub/restaurant. Despite the dire weather, it did not put us off camping here and we would definitely visit again.

What a lovely site, and how lucky we were to book the best two weeks of the British summer, perfect weather. We have a very large khyam family tent and were worried about pitch sizes. Our pitch was large and level we were able to get huge tent, trailer and car on. We pitched on Wicca.
Pool was superb two children loved it, the walk down into St ives was very pleasant about 20 mins all downhill, caught the minibus provided by the site back up the hill several times, the drivers were always very courteous and at busy times made several trips back and forth to make sure no-one was left in St Ives.
Many people on site had stayed here time and again often staying for several weeks. Toilet and showers were always clean and not overcrowded always hot. The new shower and loo lock in Morvah was superb! We ate several times in on site pub/conservatory restaurant, the food was good pub grub! and we didnt think it was unreasonably priced. The shop was well stocked reception friendly and I would certainly return again - if I could book a pitch! - very popular!
I find it hard to believe that one of the reviews I have just read is actually about the same site, we have been happily camping for many years, both in england and europe and would recommend this site to anyone. My advise to the disgruntled "dog" person is to put the dog in kennels next time and concentrate on enjoying a happy holiday!

This was our second visit to this campsite. Polamanter is a larger site than we normally stay on, but it is cleverly landscaped into a number of small areas so that you are never daunted by the scale of it NB It isn't huge anyway, its just that we normally stay on small sites. The pitches are all very generously sized and well looked after. The shower and toilet blocks are a high standard and kept clean. A new shower block was due to open this summer but they were still working on it when we were there. A good range of family facilities eg outdoor pool, gamesroom, field for ball games, children's play area, bar, takeaway, shop, internet access. Helpful staff in reception and a well run site.
The big plus, as others have said, is the very pleasant walk across the fields and down into St Ives with a reliable bus service to come back on.

Have not long since spent a week at this site, the site has its good points and also its bad points, unfortunately the bad points seemed to outway the good points for us but this is just a personal view.
Good points: Very good toilets/showers/pot washing and laundry facilities. The family shower rooms are excellent and all was very clean. The pub on site with a conservatory area is very nice and the pool look ok although we didn't use it. The dog exercise area was spacious and the little paths around were good. The reception staff and the cleaners were very friendly. Pitches were of decent size and well maintained. Plently of bins and water points, bin seemed to be emptied everyday. We had a beautiful view of the sea from our pitch (Morvah).
Bad points: This is not a level site! Despite what Cades or other publication state. This site is not that dog friendly. You can take your dog onto the exercise field and you can squeeze onto two picnic tables outside the bar area but thats your lot really. If its raining sit in your tent! In the height of the season the bar opened at 7pm. The signs say dogs must be on leads at all times - this does not apply to the owner who has a little nasty dog, so be warned it will go for your dog! The Owner and the shop staff are not very welcoming there is nothing like having you shop bill sighed at you as if its such a chore. No please no thank you either (maybe it was just for our benefit as since on the first day I told the owner his dog should be on a lead I got the sneaking suspicion that we were watched very closely even to the point of reversing a car to see where we went with the dogs)
I'm not saying this site is awful, just our experience was not enjoyable so we would not go again. Maybe there should be more reveiws for this year.

What a fantastic site. Everything was extremely well organised from the moment we arrived - there is a very large arrivals field where you can park up and walk to reception to check in and then they will let you know when you can go to your pitch. Everywhere was spotless - the pool was fabulous and well heated so that Emily (6) got a great deal of pleasure out of swimming and splashing around. There was never a queue for the showers and there was plenty of hot water. Plus in two locations there are family shower rooms with shower, basin and toilet, the temp on the shower is also controllable in these. The path to St Ives is excellent a lovely 30 mins stroll and even two six yr olds and a 3 yr old managed it - we did this most days and hardly used the car! Also the bus service straight to St Ives centre is excellent and goes from the site and runs until 11.35pm! Already booked for next year!

I cannot fault this site its well maintained. Recently had new shower block very clean and modern, with private bathrooms and a disabled shower room, handy for those with small children. There is a bus that takes you into town regulary, or you can take a short walk down to the beach, with lovely views on the way. The weather was lucky when we stayed. We stayed on levant field.

Wonderful site - cannot recommend it enough - large, level hedged pitches, very clean toilets/showers with thoughtful touches such as dry 'cupboards' for your things. Beautiful pool and everywhere was immaculately clean and landscaped etc with beautiful sea views (and lots of bunnies!). The bar is great and the food/service was fantastic...so good we ate there far too much!!! Reception were very friendly and helpful (fast track Eden tickets are available). All in all a top class site only niggle would be that it is quite windy which prevented us from erecting the gazebo and took the edge off the sunshine! - but thats not the sites fault!!!
