We arrived at Polmanter at 0015hrs on the 27th June and parked up in the late arrivals area for a sleep, but before we did the wife and myself went to use the toilet and found the staff hard at work cleaning the toilet and showers and this was how it was for our stay at Polmater. In total 9 nights and I have never seen such dedication from all the staff who worked day and night to keep the park in tip top condition, other site owners should learn from Polmanter. Yes it does cost a little extra for a pitch but by god it is value for money and much so we have been pencilled in for 2014 and this time its for 16 nights, roll on next year.
I think the only thing I would change would be in the Stable Bar and its menu and opening times, on the menu I would add a few curry dishes and at least out of the main season open up for breakfast on a Friday Saturday and Sunday, as the site was over 60% full during our stay and there was never a breakfast menu but it did start after we left on the 6th July.

Fabulous site! Incredibly well run and an easy and efficient booking process. The interactive pitch map is great as it gives you photos of all of the pitches, including a photo of the view from each pitch. The pitches are separated with incredibly neat hedges. Our pitch had a great view and wasn't too far from the loos (as requested). It was a pretty big pitch (about 10mx9m). We didn't feel too close to our neighbours.
The toilet and shower block we used was the best I've ever come across at a campsite. The showers were amazing. They also had private bathrooms that had a shower, loo and basin with plenty of room for getting changed.
We didn't get round to using the swimming pool unfortunately, but it looked lovely. There was steam coming off it one evening. Very tempting!
The location is fabulous. It was a 25 minute stroll downhill into St Ives. The bus goes pretty regularly (we were there during half term week, so it was about every 45 mins or so), so we walked into St Ives and got the bus back.
The site is on the hills around St Ives, so it's a bit windy but you get a nice view.
The site shop was good too. Well stocked. They also have a lively bar that does food. We were a bit too late to get a table on the one night we tried, but it was half term week and some of the evening entertainment was about to start.
It was a bit pricey. We paid about £31/night for a tent, 2 adults, 1 car and electric hook up. But the location and facilities make it worth it.
Looking forward to going back some time!

Used our ACSI card at this site with no problems, nice discount but then we paid a bit more to upgrade our pitch. Check in gave us lots of info, had a lovely view high up on the site of the sea. Showers were lovely. We had electric bikes and managed to get them over the 2 little styles on the far side of the site without too much of a problem.
Porthmeor Beach Cafe for a blow out tapas lunch (have the monkfish) and then the barbara hepworth gardens. It was my first time to st ives loved it.
It was out of season so we had a drink in the bar all very quiet, but the pub just down the road in Halestown did superb food and had a lovely atmosphere, so good we ate here twice.
Only here for a weekend but very nice.

Visited for 2 night stay during our motorhome tour.
Make sure you follow the site's directions and not satnav. Roads to the site (if directions followed) are easy and wide.
Smooth check in and initially we were given pitch 12 which was about 2 pitches away from the toilet block, we didn't like it as it had no sea view so asked if we could move which was absoultely fine and we moved to one of the top tiers overlooking the bay on a multi serviced pitch.
Site is large but in different areas so doesn't appear overbearing. Plenty of toilet blocks. We preferred the multi serviced pitches along the top area rather than the bottom pitches. Serviced pitches very large and level. The hardstanding non serviced pitches seemed quite a lot smaller.
The toilets were amazing. Probably one of the best toilet blocks during our whole 17 day tour. Always clean & fresh. Lovely and modern with white and blue mosaic tiles. Spacious toilet cubicles and shower cubicles. Hairdrying area. As the site was very quiet I used the private bathrooms (family room) for the duration of our stay and again it was spacious with a really handy (and sturdy) bench to sit on.
The only slight niggle was the shop and bar had both just closed prior to our arrival. We arrived 2 days after they had closed. Not so much the bar, but the shop was really missed by us as being in a motorhome we didn't want to drive into St Ives and there was no close shop unless you wanted to walk the 30 minute walk into St Ives. Think maybe reception could stock a few essentials when the shop closes.
Good dog walking area at the top of the site.
Motorhome service point.
We did treat ourselves to a meal out during our stay, on the Hayle to Penzance road there is a traditional Inn called the Lamb & Flag - if you're looking for a good steak at reasonable prices this is the place to go. Fish & chips at the Tudor Chippy on the road opposite St Michaels Mount at Marazion also recommended.
To sum up - very nice site. Amazing views if you can get a good pitch, so choose carefully. Fab shower blocks. We will return.

Just come back from 4 nts, originally booked two, but loved it so much could not leave. This is how every campsite should be - well run, spacious pitches, wonderful facilities, cannot wait to return, but all other campsites will not compare now ! - well done to all staff there - you are doing a great job.
The site is at Halsetown, which is a 25 min stroll from St Ives, the campsite run a bus on the hour for those who don, t fancy walking. Access is really good - no narrow lanes to negotiate. I would have to say the price is slightly eye-watering, but is a 5 star campsite and the price reflects this - the food on offer in the lovely stable bar was excellent, and there is a small take-away on site. Did not use the pool, but is looked lovely.

Just returned from 5 nights at Polmanter, our second visit this year. This is real Glamping, such a well manicured site with plenty of toilet and shower blocks to ensure you never have to queue and they are always kept very clean. The on site shop has most basic needs with some chilled lines and nice fresh baked baguettes. There is an on site bar and restaurant but we didn't use it however it looks very nice and overlooks a lovely swimming pool.
Its such a lovely walk into St Ives, about a mile on easy terrain with lovely country views. The walk back is a bit harder going as uphill but there is a very regular bus from Royal Sq to the site for only £1. 40 a bargain.
We paid £23 a night and worth every penny, so will see you again as so central for all parts of West Cornwall.

We love this campsite and have just returned from our sixth visit there. Quite honestly we have stopped trying elsewhere, why bother when everything at polmanter is just perfect. Location ( we love walking but there's a bus into town every 30 mis for £1. 40)
Showers to die for that are warm and spotless, never ever had to wait for one, heated outdoor pool, bar that serves food and allows dogs in to the conservatory area which has loads of tables. The campsite is well cared for all the time yet you are unaware of the staff, they leave you alone to enjoy your stay, just a cheery hello as they pass. Reception great and a dog excessive field too.
St Ives itself is the most beautiful town, loads of local quaint shops pubs and restaurants, and the beaches, wow, you could be in the med ! Dog restrictions apply to all bar one beach which is dog friendly all the time.

Wow what a lovely site, we were heading for another site in St Ives but didn't like what we found, so found this by following a road sign, and weren't disappointed. Friendly reception, given a nice pitch at the back of the site, high up with great sea views. Electric, water, TV point and drain on a flat spacious pitch.
All grass areas short and neat, shower and toilet blocks are up to date with spacious showers, and hairdryers (free) and never less than spotless, best I’ve seen. Nice shop and laundrette. Good restaurant on site, rustic but smart and modern, and dogs welcome in the conservatory, which is a nice touch. Lovely pool (adult only session in the morning), tennis courts, play area and games room for the kids, everything you could want really.
The dog walk was a field, which was great for him to have a run around. But lovely walks locally, and a nice half hour walk down hill via a local quiet lane into St Ives, which is a beautiful fishing village and artists centre with a stunning harbour and quaint shops, you could spent a good couple of days just exploring the village.
A very convenient bus service from the campsite to the village and back, every half hour early till late, which is great if you want an evening out. All in all it was the best site we've ever found and the only down side is that we won't want to stay anywhere else.

Great site, 5* so that is to be expected. Very secure site, welcomed on site by very helpful staff. The bad weather of recent weeks had unfortunately taken its toll on our pitch which was muddy and had little grass left but this wasn't the sites fault. The toilets and showers were clean and the showers had curtains and benchs to put your things and keep them dry. Hairdryers and plenty of hot water. There was a lovely bar that served food and drinks and overlooked the swimming pool. The take away pizza was nice although a little expensive.
There was a launderette, one added bonus due to being near to the beach would have been a shower for washing out wetsuits as this was a bit of hassle to wash them out.
The location was great and there was a bus into st ives, you can walk it inside about 30mins. St Ives is beautiful and plenty of places to eat.
We spent a lot of time travelling to perranporth to surf which was a bit of a drive but well worth it. Reccomended campsite, there was heaps to do inc free golf but we never seemed to have the time as we were always out and about enjoying the local area. Healeys cider farm is well worth a visit as well even if just for the tasting!

Just to echo previous comments and reviews absolutely fantastic site. Extra large pitches. Excellent toilet /shower facilities immaculately clean. Fabulous pool and enjoyed a morning adults only swim. Wonderful staff couldn't do enough for you.
Shop good for necessities but also morrisons and lidl not far away. Warning all service gravel pitches difficult to get even rock pegs in and very windy pitches resulting in the light weight awning being taken down at 1 am, so perhaps canvas awning with storm strap more appropriate although we did have some torrential weather!
had brilliant meal in bar off special board seafood of the day starter and main.
Lovely walk into St. Ives did it 3 times and caught bus back ideal so you don't have to use car, must try pasties in St. Ives and seafood restaurant is recommended.
The highlight of the holiday was seeing seals in st. Ives bay so lovely. Lands end well worth visiting. Mousehole nice little old harbour and village.
Would definitely recommend excellent facilities for children, despite site being full didn't appear loud or overcrowded. Well done polmanter keep up the excellent work.
