Security barrier to site superb Owners welcoming Shop stocked with the basics
Site and facilities were spotless(first port of call on arrival at new site is to have a toilet check this one passed with flying colours)well maintained site a site the owners should be proud of
Local Morrisons within walking distance
Our party had two full days out one in Liverpool and one in Blackpool

What a wonderful site. We only stayed for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday, but a very enjoyable weekend. Staff very friendly, nice flat grassy pitch. The toilet and shower block spotless, but I must add that the shower cubicles were a bit tight. Shop stocked all that you need, but the villages of Burscough and Ormskirk are not too far away. Great field for letting the dog off the lead and the next field to that had a pond for the anglers amongst us. Security at the site is first class. Great site and we are back again soon.

The entrance security is great. Staff fantasticly friendly and helpful always a smile and nothing to much trouble.
The pitches are spacious and always tidy.
The shop sells sweets, general bits and pieces. You can order your daily newspapers too.
The dog field is great with plenty of space for it to run.
The fishing permit keeps husbands and kids entertained for hours especially when they get a bite.
The field is spacious and plenty on the park especially the tractor for kids to play on.
There is a Tesco in Burscough and Morrisons in Ormskirk town centre. Market day on a Saturday is great to have a wonder around.
McDonalds is in the town centre too.
We love this site have been 4 times and will be going back again.
The toilet block spotlessly clean and tidy.
Highly recommendable.

We have just spent 3 nights here at abbey farm,
We loved it and our 3 kids had a ball, there is a fantastic playing field and park, kids was so safe there, they played for hours and hours.
The owners are really nice and helpful , our electric cable was short he came out straight away with an extention for us to use.
There was a seperate dog field which was very good,
You can walk and ride for hours on end,
But also Southport, liver all very close by,,, also take a trip to crosby beach eith the iron men on,,,,,dogs welcome on beach.
All in all we had a lovely weekend and will def go back,
Very clean in all areas and very looked after.

I agree with the majority of entries for this site. It is clean, peaceful and relaxing. It was our first trip with a caravan and the owner helped my husband reverse our van into position, he was so helpful.
The showers and toilet area are immaculate and warm which was very welcome with the great British weather. There is a play room with pool tables and other games but what we didn't realise is that the machines only accept 50 pence pieces, so if you have children make sure you have a supply as the shop isn't always open when you need change. Perhaps a change machine would be a good investment for the room. Also what we didn't know and it wasn't made clear to us is that the showers are free or included in your site fees, but we took a key for the family room and you need 50p tokens for the hot water for the shower and bath and the hot water ran out. If I'd have known that I wouldn't have taken the key and just used the shower rooms.
There isn't much in the way of leaflets advertising what is on in the area, the only leaflets we saw were for Blackpool Zoo! I would like to see more about the surrounding area and perhaps maps of local walks. We did enjoy our stay and the security gate is great as it really makes you feel secure. My 2 young children and their friends thought it was brilliant, big open spaces to run round in, ideal for the family. We'll certainly be going back.

Spent a great Easter weekend on this site. The facilties really are fantastic. The shower and toilet block were spotless at all times and we never had to wait for a shower. The family bathroom is a great facility for those of us with young children. The large playing field would be good in better weather. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This was our first time out with our van and they helped us with a couple of small teething problems we were having.
Lots to do in the local area. Fairly central for visiting places such as Southport and Liverpool. Definitely worth a visit!

This is a fantastic site and we have visited on many occasions. The owners are lovely and are always willing to help. The shower facilities are spotless and cleaned regularly, there is also a seperate family bathroom which can be used with a £5 deposit from reception an excellent idea with little ones. There is lots to do in the area(not far from southport) and pubs are in walking distance and a large tesco for amenities. There is a shop on site which is very handy. Cant wait to return this year for quite a few weekends!. We have tried other sites but we just love it at Abbey farm

This is a very nice site, and I completely concur with all of the comments.
I wish to add that this is a very secure site with up to date entry system.
We stayed on the Abbey feild, and whilst this feild benefits from a new toilet block, there are only two toilet / showers for the men / women. So if 2 guys were taking a shower, you had to head over to the bigger toilet block (which I did anyway).
There was a downside during our stay: it would appear that there is a fashion for the guys that have tents to bring along their televisions and watch them in the tent until 10.30pm each night, with the volume up fairly loud. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect perfect silence after 9.00pm, but the three units that were there during our stay were way past what is (in my book) acceptable noise levels, and were down right selfish. None of the owners seemed too bothered.
On the plus side, we took advantage of some of the lovely walks in the surrounding countryside, and it really is in a wonderful part of the country. There are a couple of pubs the other side of the railway, and a short drive away are the main towns and cities of the North West.
We will return to this site, and we will specifically ask to be sited on the large feild (which I think is) called the Pyramid Feild.
Do visit this site - it's dead good, but take along your personal stereo.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is a nice site although the pitch we had was not very big. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless with hair dryers available for 20p. We were a bit worried that the trains running nearby would keep us awake but we either slept very well or they stopped running in the night because we didn't hear them at all. There is a well stocked shop on site, the only downside is that is was closed from 12noon till 3pm just when we ran out of things for lunch. All in all a nice site but we probably wouldn't use it again mainly because of the size of the pitches.

Had a great week here. Lovely people, good facilities, and really nice, helpful staff.
Clean shower block, and never too packed to get a shower whenever you wanted. Good washing up facilities too, with washing machine, dryer, and ironing board/iron too.
No entertainment, or clubhouse, but we didnt mind that. It was just a really nice place to stay.
Would love to stay there again, and if we're in that part of the country again would do so without a doubt.
