Wonderful place! Very peaceful, lovely owners, spotless facilities. Plenty for the children to do and the site never seems noisy. Little shop selling the basics and very reasonable. This was our first visit with our grandchildren and we loved it so much we are going back next weekend! Sshh, don't tell the kids. Location is spot on, 5 minutes in the car, lovely little town with a great market.
Highly recommended

Our second visit to this lovely site.
Facilities still as good as before, always clean & both showers & toilets were warm. The site was slightly busier than our last visit, being summer, but it is plenty big enough for all to enjoy.
The play park was well established & all thoroughly enjoyed it. There is also plenty of play space & an ample dog walking field.
Local facilities are a short drive away but perfectly adequate.
I think we may be visiting again!

We are return visitors to Abbey Farm but haven't been for two years - I really don't know why because having been back this weekend (17th to 19th April) we have realised what a wonderful site this is! It is spotlessly clean. Two children's playgrounds, one for toddlers and one for bigger kids (brand new), a library and a games room with snooker table, table tennis and a couple of arcade games. There is a small shop selling basic goods and sweets, etc. Toilets/showers were immaculate and they even had a special children's shower which operates at a lower temperature. There was a problem with this, but when I reported it to reception they apologised and rectified it immediately. The site is lovely and quiet, which might not suit everyone, but we like the fact that there is no clubhouse but that it is still a family friendly site and kids could be heard playing and laughing etc. There is a lovely wooded walk and a small field for dogs to run free. Another big plus is that prices don't sky rocket for bank holidays, so before we left we booked to come back for four nights at the August bank holiday. The site is well situated for many activities and places of interest and well worth a mention is Windmill Farm, with plenty of animal contact including bottle feeding lambs. Well done Abbey Farm - keep up the good work!

Once again had a great weekend at this site the owner put us on our pitch with the tractor as it was very wet and ask us to park on the car park which was not a problem, the facilities were spotless and plenty of hot water in the showers. A top site for a weekend or a longer stay in a great location.

Pleasant, standard site. Nice field for dog-walking although very small.
Units a bit close to one another but we were given a corner pitch as requested.
Welcomed on arrival.
Turning spaces for units very small. I was advised to drive round a loop once I had parked up to go to the office. Managed ok but it wasn't easy.
I didn't find directions to the office easy and I had to leave my motor home in the middle of the main drive whilst I walked quite a way to the office.
There seemed to be no temporary parking.
Turning out of the field onto the main drive was also very tight and many units had difficulty.
No major problems but I would suggest clearer direction signs and turn round areas.
Secured by barrier access.

Just got back from a great weekend at Abbey Farm and had a great time the site is brilliant, well kept and the facilities are spot on. The staff are friendly and very helpful. There is a pub with food 10 mins walk away and the site is only 2 miles outside of Ormskirk a great little market town ( thursday and saturday). We will be going back next year for more chilling weekends.

Good facilities & a friendly welcome.
A lovely site which is well serviced with good sized camping pitches. The toilets & showers were always clean & warm. There were two play parks, one for smaller kids & one for larger. Although the larger had just been refurbished it was usable & was well equipped.
Overall a great site which I would recommend & I am sure we will be revisiting.

Abbey Farm is a top site, tranquil/peaceful with excellent facilities, family friendly, no noise. Can we campers want anything more? Highly recommend, upon arrival had a very friendly greeting from one of the brothers showed us our pitch and answered every question I asked. Before leaving we tried to book for the August Bank Holiday weekend - full, no surprise.

Nice clean site with two toilet blocks. Small camping area which was on a slight slope. Nice and quiet when we arrived on the Thursday but on the Friday it got quite busy, so slightly cramped as the pitches are laid out between posts. There is a large play area at the bottom of the field through a gate, which was good as most of the children played down here and not on the camping field. Nice walk up the track and over the railway line to the Bull and Dog, if you want to eat out or better still walk into the town of Ormskirk, about one and a half miles along the main road footpath or you could take the scenic view along an off road footpath which takes about an hour. The site also have a library, which is a good idea.

Stayed at abbey farm for 2 nights - Friday / Saturday. 4 adults 3 kids. We only live in Manchester and it was only 35mins to get there but you feel you are a lot further from home.
The site is very nice, we were booked in easily and quickly. We had a nice big pitch with EHU in the tent field on the left as you enter the site. The showers / toilets were very clean, there is a wash up area in the field we were on which is handy.
There is a nice games room and library on site. The little shop had all the essentials you need.
We went fishing for a few hours (£3 per rod per day) - we caught a few decent sized fish which the kids loved.
On the Saturday, we went to ainsdale beach (approx 30 mins away) - fantastic beach and you can park on there as well for £5.
There are a couple of fields and play areas for the kids which they all seemed to enjoy.
We would return again and the fact it is so close is a bonus for us when we look at a 2 night trip.
