We were on a small field which was lovely. The pitches were level, the playground was adjacent to us. The showers/toilets were warm and very clean. All in all it is a really nice family site. We will be returning. Cost just over £24 for 2 nights including ehu which I thought was very reasonable. Showers were free.

Stayed a couple of nights mid week. We found the owners to be friendly and helpful. Our kids loved it, plenty of room on large recreation field for rounders cricket etc. Toilets were clean. Is a site we will be returning to - found it very peaceful and relaxing.

This was our second time here, on both occassions I have gone with my 6yr old daughter, a lifelong mate and his daughter. Checking in, I explained that I had asked her husband (when booking) about the availability of certain pitches as the tent we now own was large. The lady became aloof saying that they couldn't take bookings on actual pitches,i hadn't asked this! There was only one tent and two touring caravans on the field of approx 24 pitches, and yet she told us to have pitch #1 (the smallest). We explained our predicament to her husband who was most helpful - he not only gave us a more suitable pitch, but also the one next to it (free of charge,so both cars were nearby). This was probably an isolated incident, and wouldn't stop us staying again.
The site is very clean and quiet, with more than adequate washroom / toilet facilities, a childrens playground on a large field, walks, fishing. For those coming from further afield it is ideally situated for visiting all the Northwest's attractions and more. Well worth a stay or two,it's easy to see why some people come back year after year.

We have just returned from our first camping trip in years. The site was extreemly clean and the toilet blocks were imaculate. The owners were very helpful and very friendly. The childrens play area was huge and very child friendly, the equipment was well maintained, with big swings for older kids and smaller ones for the little ones. There is a small but well stocked shop on the site, a small library, and a kids room where they can play ping pong etc. The site was booked up when we called but with luck they had a cancelation. There is a massive car boot on a Sunday about 10-15 minutes walk away,it takes about 2 hrs to walk around it. There is plenty of wild life in the surounding area and boy do the birds like to sing early. We sat and watched the bats flying around the childrens play area when the kids had all gone to bed and it was peaceful. A great site for families who just want to chill out.

We thought this was a great site and would recommend it to all. We turned up on the Friday bank hol weekend. We hadn't booked, but they managed to fit us in (don't get me wrong cos you'd be thinking they were dead) they were full. For tents they have a little field that takes about 8 tents comfortably, it is next to the play area field so you can watch the kids but not too close that you can hear them. The toilets and showers were immaculate and plentiful. The owners were lovely and we hope to see them again soon
note to one's self - exiting from campsite to go to Ormskirk, don't go left as this is the v. long way round.

This is a really nice site. Good clean toilet and shower facilities. Good sized pitches too. The recreation area is great, it is massive, we had a game of rounders - 6 kids, 6 adults and there was loads of space. Will definitely be visiting again.

This was about the 4th time that we've stayed here. The owners are very pleasant indeed and nothing is too much trouble. The tent area although not huge we find just right. The showers are of A1 standard just like the recreation field. Good reasonable prices.

This was our first ever camping adventure as a family. Our little boys are 3,4 and 5. We had a great time. The grass pitch was nice and flat and the toilet and shower blocks were spotless. The childrens playground is great and we were able to just let them go and please themselves. We have been to other places since and nowhere measures up to this site.

This was our first visit,a lovely quiet site with good facilities and mostly level pitches.Tents and tourers are separate from the static caravans.A good location for visiting Ormskirk Southport and the Leeds-Liverpool canal. We would recommend this site if you are looking for a good quality site in a quiet location.
