Just came back from here today.I enjoyed the weekend. Wardens are friendly and helpful but is very crowded. Went to the bar on site last night ,Was very busy but a band was on for the kids. As soon as you leave the site the beach is about 2 mins away. The takeaway wasn't much to write home about. £2.50 for a pretty nasty bacon sandwich. Shower blocks and toilets top notch. All in all not a bad site very busy and sometimes noisy, also quite expensive, for 3 of us it cost £60 for 2 nights stay in 1 tent.
Overall 7/10

Just returned from Holiday Resort Unity after the early May Bank holiday weekend. The site was busy but not quite full to capacity. The site is huge and covers a vast area, alot of walking was involved just getting between places on site. Good site with good facilities. Cost Cutter store on site for groceries had a good range, slightly overpriced as one would expect on site. Range of food outlets including american themed restaurant/bar, takewaways and cafe, food was good and resonably priced. On site bar was RJs, very busy in here and loud, wasnt really our cup of tea. Childrens play park was large and always busy, also an arcade and soft play area. The arcade was full of teenagers and abit intimidating for my 12 and 13 year old girls. Toilet block on green field was kept very clean, hot showers and piped music. Wardens on site were helpful and kept children in check, re playing around the toilets etc. Beach across the road was huge and good for letting the dog have a run around in but not particularly scenic. Brean Leisure park is linked to the site. We visited via the good on site dog walk and the girls had a day at the fair using wristband system which worked out as good value for money. Discount available to campers but you must obtain your discount voucher via reception BEFORE you head down to the fair as they do not offer discount just on sight of your guest passes. The swimming pool is also available to guests. Only the inside pool was open at this time of year, it is tiny with just one slide into it which is accessed via steps outside making it very cold once wet. Changing rooms had lockers but were very grubby.
All in all the site was well managed with helpful staff. However it is massive with row upon row of caravans etc and was like being in a little town of its own which isnt really what we would normally want when away from home. Night times were quite noisy and quiet time didnt seem to be enforced whilst we were their. If you want a quiet break away this is not the place for you. If you want hussle bussle and noise with lots for children then it is ideal.

Just got back from this site. We have been there before, but in a tent. This visit was in our van and was a freebee as part of thier first timers weekends. Brean is known for its windy weather but it was very calm over the weekend. The rain hit us hard but that was not realy an issue. This site is one of the biggest sites we have ever visited, its a really nice place for such a big site. The pitches are large and well spaced and the field warden will escort you to your pitch to make sure everything is ok. The toilets are spotless and checked and cleaned regularly. We never bother with the sites night clubs and bars. The site is also part of the Brean leisure park, this is full of white knuckle type rides and as guests of Unity you can get a discount.
All in all, a nice site, a little bigger than we would normal go for, but out of season it was fine. We would have no problems returning.

We visited this site in August 2007 just after we had all the floods. On arrival we checked in and then went round to find the pitch. This place is massive, got lost trying to find pitch. Once we got sorted we were placed near the main toilet block which was handy as we didn't have to go too far for a shower. The showers were fantastic, all in one block toilet, shower and sink. The entertainment was ok, we found it a little packed at night but you need to get there early to get a seat. Over all we found this camping site to be one of the best that we have been to so far, plenty for the kids to do. We would go back there again.

Just spent a few nights at this site during peak period, school holidays and hot weather. These factors meant the site was quite full and busy. Even though it was so very busy, we never had to queue in the showers, never waited for attention at reception from the staff, never failed to find a nice seat in the clubhouse - all of which we feel is a tribute to the smooth way the site was run. The entertainment was great and the children were really well catered for. Even though the Staff must have been really busy, they never failed to be helpful and happy. We also have need to use the disabled showers and the facilities here are excellent. The swimming pools were too full to actually swim much but the indoor and outdoor pools were very good with lifeguards in attendance. We thought the site was kept very clean in all areas at all times. The pitches were of a generous size. The Wardens helped find suitable pitches for our needs. We thought prices per night were about average for a site with all these facilities and we thought the club and food prices were reasonable. There was a friendly, relaxed atmosphere on this site. We will be returning.

Chose this site for the second of two week holiday to shorten the journey home, the first week being spent in Cornwall. We got stuck on M5 all night on the way down to Cornwall and first night here the rains came down again, flooding many of the pitches. The wardens did allow us to drive round with them on the morning we pitched up to chose a dry pitch as they had obviously had lots of rain the previous week. Although we managed to find pitches that looked okay we woke up Sunday morning to a very soggy groundsheet. This site is huge and on the whole quite well organised, there is a free train that runs every half an hour from about 7pm to 11:30pm I believe, to take you to the club houses. RJ's I didn't really like it reminded me of a leisure centre, I much preferred the Tavern next to the funfair. The entertainment staff worked hard to fill the gaps between the visiting acts, I'm not into getting up in front of the audience and making a laughing stock of myself but there are always some willing victims up for a laugh to win a drink, its fun to watch but gets a bit repetitive . As for the visiting acts they were very good. Being a smoker I also appreciated the decking area under cover and with patio heaters which beat RJ's 'bus shelters' that did nothing to shield us from the rain/wind and everything else the British summer brings. The pool system (one free visit per day) was a good idea as this stopped people settling themselves on the sun loungers for the day however the water was frrr.eezing and only the brave kids dared get in. The showers get a big YES amongst the best I've experienced, you get toilet, wash basin, shower, seat and plenty of hooks to hang your towels and clean clothes and there are plenty of them, only recall queueing once. I could be picky and mention that the mirrors were distorted (or was that my true reflection ) no really the glass was warped but that doesn't matter. The beach was a real let down but then again maybe its an unfair comparison with Cornwall. Somerset is a fair old way from where we live and I wouldn't travel this distance to visit again I'd go for another hour or so to get to Devon or Cornwall. For those who live closer by the site itself is okay and tries hard to entertain - if the weather looks dodgy though book on the hardstandings!

We booked into this site blind, only a few days before arrival as a two night stop over on our way back up north from Newquay. We picked it at random from a magazine so on arrival we were pleasantly surprised. A massive site laid out really well. All the pitches were well spaced, very flat and mainly hard standing. Plenty to do for the whole family. Our four year old loved the evening entertainment with Mr Mayhem in Dickies Bar and the adjoining fun park. The shower blocks were clean, modern and well maintained. A mixer tap on the showers would have been better as you either had a very hot shower or a very hot shower. A little cold water would be nice. There were plenty of water points to fill up your aqua rolls. The waste water disposal point was at knee height which made emptying a 50ltr waste hog a little awkward. The swimming pool looked good from the outside, we didn't get a chance to use it, or the other two clubs available because of a lack of time.
If you like fishing the lake on site looked very popular and the dog walking area was fantastic. There is also a large on site play area for the little ones. The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. A road train is run between the site and fun park. If using it make sure you know where you need to get off on your way home as the site is massive and very spooky when your lost at night as my wife and son found out. For fun for the whole family I can recommend this site. Fees were very reasonable too.

Spent a good week here, despite the rain! Field Warden very helpful allowing us to follow him round and choose the driest pitch we wanted. So we ended up with a large row end pitch.
Really liked the pool complex, the toddler area was lovely and warm and the slides kept my 12 year old busy. The fair was pretty expensive and the choice of rides a bit limited (my son moaned that there were no big coasters, or white knuckle rides). The entertainment areas were clean and tidy. Security at the club house checked our passes regularly, but the kids shows were too loud for my 2 year old and made her cry so we only went once & left 'the men' to go on their own.
We were disappointed with the beach. The sea was never close enough when we went for us to paddle safely. The beach patrols were excellent and made sure everyone stayed away from the dangerous sinking sand and mud.
There is a land train operating from 7 to 11.30pm which was great for saving a long walk from the entertainment areas, but a bit intrusive rumbling past the folding camper every 30 mins when we were trying to get the baby to sleep.
Showers, toilets & pot wash (take your own bowl - £1 for plug hire) clean. Laundry available too.
If you're looking for a big site with all the whistles & bells I'd certainly say give this one a go.

Our second trip this year but in a tent this time and only for the weekend. The site was busy but not crowded and again all was good. However if you are camping and you get a pitch on the row end (any letter pitch 1 or 2) it will be noisy as everyone walks past and cuts across, not the sites fault just a point. If you want a bit of peace when everyone is coming back from the pub have a high numbered pitch at the far end or in the middle.

Had a really good weekend on this site, weather a bit of a let down but did all we wanted to do. Site is very well run for such a large concern apart from the volume of people trying to check in at reception at the same time which causes a backlog in the entrance which therefore spills out onto the main road but this was quickly sorted by the management. Toilet blocks very clean and tidy, shop on site stocked all we needed. Fishing lake in middle of site gave up some good catches for my husband and children had a great time at the fairground so there was something for everyone. The only negative thing about the place was the pool complex which I thought was poorly supervised. I appreciate it is only a splash pool but I still feel that an admissions policy should be in place as there were people swimming in their clothes and nothing was said to them! Will be returning in the future.
