First time ever camping using our touring caravan that we had purchased a few weeks earlier.
What a fantastic site and for our first impressions of caravanning 'FANTASTIC' we can't wait to go again.
Unity staff were very helpful and friendly especially the two wardens who looked after green field.
The toilets and shower blocks were very clean and great to hear music all times of the day/night.
The dog walks were great our little dog was well and truly happy.
All the amenities on the site were 100% and nothing could be faulted.
We enjoyed the walk into the Leisure Park and the journey back on the land train. The other great thing about this site is that our dog was welcomed everywhere i.E. The train and leisure park etc.
We will definitely be returning.

We stayed here for 2 nights in July and it is a brilliant site. Check-in was very quick and we were directed to our field of choice where a warden was waiting to show us to our pitch, we were offered a few pitches to choose from and opted for one near the shower block. Pitch was hardstanding and very clean and well kept grass surrounding it, with a water tap and drain at the rear. The showers were the best we have seen, with the toilet shower and wash basin all in 1 individual cubicle, there were approx 20 cubicles and they were spotless. Rj's clubhouse is just a 5min walk away and they had great entertainment and a kids club, also reasonably priced drinks, just £10.80 for a 4pint pitcher of fosters. 5 mins walk to brean funfair and the various shops and bars. We had food in the quickeat cafe on the front, just £5.95 for the mega breakfast and it was huge. Excellent site, lovely staff, very clean.

We decided to try this site for our first caravanning holiday! We had a wonderful time. The warden showed us to our pitch and was very helpful, the shower and toilet blocks were spotless throughout the day, and there were plenty of showers and toilets.
We had free entertainment passes (just like Haven) and this was great! There was a great park for our 6 year old son to play in. On site shop was a little bit expensive, so I would suggest you do your shopping before you get there! I highly recommend this site, and we will definitely be visiting again.

After reading previous reviews we were worried about coming but on arrival all worries went away. We came during may half term and stayed on yellow field in a touring caravan and trailer tent with 4 adults 2 kids 8 & 6 & baby. The wardens were really friendly and show you to your pitch which is massive. You have your own water drainage and electric to share to 2 pitches.
Good points:
Pitch size, size of site is big but on yellow field you only a few minutes walk from all activities, food is nice, arcades really good and not expensive (my daughter won a mobile phone on the 10p machines only spent about £3 in it the person working there gave my other daughter a toy one so she didn't feel left out).
Only 10 min walk from the beach, entertainment good, food and drinks not too pricey, not a noisy site at night. Toilets did get a bit dirty over the night, wardens clean up a lot
Bad points
We had a problem with someones dog messing right outside our awning which the wardens cleaned up straight away (we have a 11mnth baby crawling on the grass so not impressed
The pool was a bit cold and there's not enough changing rooms or a family changing area, (a new pool is currently being built). Not pushchair friendly from 6pm at nightly entertainment venue bit silly really if a baby is tired and you want tea out.
The fair is good but buy an adult wristband for over 6s as the kids one is only used for about 5 rides we made that mistake.
If you go out of the site and turn right there's more places to eat, bars shops and arcades. Try the horse riding to that's fun. Overall the site is good would go again and would recommend

We took our two kids and two of their friends to Unity for the a week and I have to say we couldn't have asked for a better holiday.
We randomly chose the Brown Field, which was very spacious, clean, tidy and had everything we wanted. The shower and toilet blocks were spotless as were the washing up and laundry areas. I think Bridget and Steve (the on site wardens) are trying to polish a hole in the tiles, they were always cleaning! Even if it wasn't dirty!, with that and being more helpful than helpful people, what more could you ask for?
It was about a five minute walk to the Costcutter which stocks loads of stuff and at very reasonable prices, Then another five minute stroll and you are at RJ's (the entertainment capital of the park) the arcade, chinese / english takeaway, Hire Centre(for go-karts, bikes, motobility scooters etc) and the main entrance with reception. Booking in was a doddle, very simple, efficient and friendly.
Entertainment is well above average(look out for Petes wig in the Grease show!), but make sure you know when the last road train leaves or you have a 10 minute walk and if the famous brean wind is blowing, then it can be a bit nippy.
The leisure park is another five minute walk and well worth getting the discount for the unlimited rides wristbands.
You must go to the beach as well. Where else can you drive onto a vast flat beach, park your car and set your self up fro the day with everything you want, there and then?
All in all, a thoroughly recommended site, and we will definitely be there next year.

On arrival it seemed a bit grim, the entrance sign could do with being renewed! However we drove onto a lovely large site, we were situated on the brown field which is at the very back of the site and quite a long walk to the on site facilities. There were taps situated at what seemed like every other pitch, the toilet and shower block was spotless even though it was a busy bank holiday weekend! I never had to wait for either the toilet or the shower either.
There is a costcutter on site which sells pretty much everything you could need, and was reasonably priced too! Brean leisure park is just a short walk away where there is a fun fair and swimming pool, you get one free entry into the swimming pool each day although they operate timed sessions so check before you go! The pool is half indoor and half outdoor it is heated but with the doors open it felt chilly! They are rebuilding the pool and expect it to be finished in 2012.
We had a carvery in the tavern pub which to say how busy it was, was actually quite nice! The jacket potatos looked nice too and worth the money! The funfair was nice but a bit pricey in my opinion!
The site is within a 10 minute walk to the beach, I can't comment because I didn't go but some friends of ours did and said it was pleasant. There was quite a lot of noise on site quite late the wardens do drive around but didn't seem to act upon the noise. That being said we enjoyed our stay and will most likely be returning to the area again. Forgot to say the on site park was great for the kids!

I booked up last minute as we heard there was a lovely weekend on the way. On arrival with all the static caravans I was very worried but as we got closer to our pitch I started to relax a lot.
The lady who showed us to our pitch on yellow field was lovely and very helpful.
The shower/toilet area was spotless, the showers were only luke warm at any time of the day but was regularly cleaned.
The club house was very family orientated which my two young children loved. There is a free road train going around the camp area (which is very large) and to the funfair, but on the down side if you are trying to sleep and it's going past you every 30 mins it is annoying.

As a first time visitor to Unity I knew nothing about the site only the fair side of things.
The site was much larger than I expected, the pitches were large but the road between was a little small when backing into pitch, this wouldn't be so much of a problem if the grass was nice and dry, but I didn't want to dig up there grass unlike some others did. Lighting around the site just about right, there were tap just behind each unit, these were shared with 3 other vans and you could put your waste water down the drain underneath. The hardstanding was a bit of a mess, mix of concrete and tarmac, but almost level.
The showers and wash block were great, apart from the little yobs that managed to mess them up, but as soon as they noticed the shut the block for cleaning, just wish I wasn't just about to shower at that point, shower was just the right temp and power and best of all free.
The costcutter on site did most the stuff you need, and the amusements kept my littlen happy, she also loved the bowling, but 2 lanes wouldn't be good in high season.
Fair and pools not open.
Park looked great but was to wet to use it.
Most of my gripes were with other campers, including next door who left there dog in there van for 4 hours alone, and nothing was done.
Wardens were kind and helpful.
Not much dog mess about only found a few when going along the dog walk(i didn't go looking for it, I was walking my dog)
My only real bit of advise to the reception would be to have a good information pack on arrival including a map as what we got was near on useless apart from opening times, and should advise people that there is a gate at the side of the site by the leisure park that cars can use to get in and out.
Great site overall would use it in low season

We visited this site in Sept 2009 after having read mixed reviews about it.
Well what can I say, anything other than a positive review would be misleading.
The site is HUGE and the pitches have more than enough space for a car, caravan and awning.
We arrived at the site and checked in at reception. We were handed our barcode tickets that opened the barrier to the site and given small pack which included a map which showed the locations of everything.
We were asked to make our way down to the Green Section where we would be met by a warden and shown to our pitch.
The warden was waiting for us when we arrived and asked us to hang on a couple of minutes while he escorted another unit to their pitch. He promptly returned and after checking our information, took us to our pitch.
The pitch itself was clearly marked and we were asdvised that as long as we stayed within the lines, we could pitch up however we wanted.
The pitch was flat and firm and we had no problems with our awning pegs.
The water tap was very close by as was the EHU point.
The amenity block was spotless and very modern with plenty of room in the shower cubicles and the under-floor heating was just amazing.
The club / bar area was also very tidy albeit a good walk away and it wasn't until the last night that we realised that when the site train isn't running (as we were out of peak season) you could go to the warden point and ask for the free minibus to take you up there if you wanted, our mistake as it did say so in the welcome pack.
The other facilities on site were all very good and prices reasonable for the shop and take-aways.
All in all a really good site, so good in fact that we are booked in again this year for June.

Great site with plenty of facilities.Cheap fun fair with no queues and plenty of good rides for the whole family including go karts, rollercoasters and arcades. The indoor swimming pool was small with no flumes but the outdoor one had loads, just a shame about the weather! The club was nice but had seen better acts.
As for the caravan that was excellent. Considering it was a sun holiday. It was a fairly new caravan with a big tv, freeview, dvd player, stereo plus a private garden with decking and patio set. We were on red field wich was near the chippy and a Costcutter and not that far from RJS, the on site club. A short walk to fishing lake which didn't have much in, and a 2 min walk to the fair and swimming complex also owned by the site.
There was a large park and outdoor gym where the older children hang out. There is also a land train which is on the site and is handy if you are in brown field. The hire centre sells fishing bait plus bikes, mobility scooters to hire. There is a market and carboot which sells fishing equipment and general stuff which could come in handy, plus your normal stuff. There is also a stunt show once a week but because of the weather it was dangerous so they let us have ride in the monster truck for fiver which was very good value, even though it was only for 5 mins.
The on site food was nice from the chipshop which is also a cafe and there is a wimpy as well. I hired a pedal car with my family which was fun that cost just over a tenner for 4 adults plus 2 children not bad these days. The arcade by RJS was not that good and the bowling was just a bowlingo .But the arcade in the fair was good and was ideal when it started raining.
As for the local area the was seaside shops arcades restaurants in walking distance. There is also a big hill which I think is called Brean down but cant be sure, which you can walk up and see Cardiff. A 10 min drive to Burnham on sea which has cheap arcades (a fiver will last for ages) a morrisons supermarket (but it is small) and seaside shops, tackle shops, tearooms and chippys plus a big beach. Not much sea more quicksand and a nice promenade good fun for kite flying.
A 20min drive will get you to Weston Super Mare, not that much there now because of the pier burning down, but it will be back open for 2010 summer. There is a sea aquarium, basically a sea life centre which I was going to go into but asked the helpful assistant for prices and they were not bad I think they were about 6.25 for adults and 5.25 for kids, oaps, disabled and students and FREE for kids under 3.
The Weston wheel is good and their prices are good, fiver for adults, £4 OAPs, children £3 toddlers £1 babies free, and a family ticket for 4 people (minimum 1 child) £12 you can also hire a vip capsule. The wheel was fairly empty normally about 2 pepole in each capsule. The was also a sand sculpture exhibition which was about 2 quid and had the opportunity to make your own piece of art. There were plenty of seaside shops and crazy golf places on the main road. The town centre was just like a normal town centre and not a very nice one. But the was a little shopping centre which was handy. There was also a pirate themed crazy golf near the site.
Overall the staff was friendly the entertainers and characters stay in the club unlike other sites such as Butlins, but the facilities were good and mostly free.
