We were meant to stay 3 nights but left after 1 night, partially due to sick child and poor weather forecast for remaining stay but also partially due to behaviour of other campers.
The site is massive, but well laid out and the pitch was generous, flat and well maintained. The warden was very friendly and helpful on arrival. The toilet and shower block was excellent, probably the best I've ever used to be honest.
The only issue we had was that a large number of fellow campers could be best described as 'a bit rough'. A trailer tent next to ours had the TV blaring out til well after midnight, couples were returning to their tents/caravans from the clubs arguing with car doors being slammed, bad language etc, mothers screaming non-stop at their out of control kids.
It was quite entertaining for a bit but not pleasant! By the playground kids ran riot and there wasn't an adult to be seen as kids as young as 3 or 4 were left unattended.
We only had time to visit the entertainment complex once but the kids enjoyed the puppet/magic show that was on. Food was pretty poor in the Bucket and Spade club, £6 for a supermarket budget brand pizza. Staff were great though. Didn't get chance to use the Splash Park which was a shame as we were looking forward to that.
In short, can't fault the park or it's staff but unfortunately it seems to attract some (not by any means all) rough folk. Won't be going back unfortunately.

HRU is a well maintained clean site with a shop and take aways on site. We stayed on a pitch with electric hookup and the showers were clean and hot. There was washing up facilities and a launderette. Children's play areas and fishing pools.
The park is situated next to brean splash and brean leisure park with just a short walk to the beach.
Overall a great family park with plenty to do on and off the site and excellent value for money. Will certainly be returning in the future.

Got to be one of the best sites we have been too, and we have been to a lot!
Everything you could need is here, swimming pool, funfair, great size pitches on the yellow field,
The staff are happy and helpful,
The toilet block has shower cubicles with their own loo and sink inside
There are several bars to use, and the drink prices are not a ripoff like most sites we have been to,
We will be going back again.

This is a great site that we enjoy visiting as we have been here a few times before.
We camped on the Green field which has all the usual EHU, water taps for each pitch etc. The toilet facilities were a let down though, I think this was more down to the lack of caring from other site users as it was not down to the lack of effort from the field wardens as they seemed to be in the toilet blocks constantly cleaning.
Near the Green field is a good playground for the kids which mine enjoyed going to, there is also a couple of areas for them to play football.
We spent a couple of evenings in RJ's which was ok, the show that was put on was the exact same as last May which was a little disappointing. As mentioned in other reviews, if you want a seat then you need to get there early.
Spent one afternoon in the indoor swimming pool, this has been updated within the last year as they now have a second pool which is more geared around younger children having small slides etc that my 8 and 7 year olds really enjoyed. £14 for a family of 4 was very reasonable in my opinion.
If you turn right out of the site and drive for a mile or so, you can drive your car onto the Beach, make sure you take note of the high and low tides as you get the following warning 'At low tide a wide exposure of soft sand and mud is exposed leading to the water's edge, but note that it is very dangerous to approach the water at low tide.
I would imagine we would go again, but probably not on a Bank Holiday weekend.

Great site with plenty of things to do within walking distance.
Pitches are a good size with your own electric hook up, water and drainage on Yellow field which we always book.
The kiddies indoor play is excellent and cheap to get in and decent food. Not a huge selection but enough for a bite to eat while the kid(s) play. Haven't tried the indoor pool yet but looks nice enough and the weather has never been warm enough for the outdoor every time I've been.
Funfair, shops, crazy golf, bars, food and beach all within walking distance so plenty to keep you entertained.
Nice clubhouse with good entertainment but get there early during peak to get a seat. It gets very busy.
The food in the clubhouse is excellent!
It's a little bit pricier than the other sites in the area but you get what you pay for.

Has everything most large holiday sites have with the added bonus of swimming pools and a fun fair next door. The location is spot on for the beach and local supplies and only a short drive to Weston Super-mare.
The staff were helpful throughout and the wardens on yellow field were cheerful considering how busy they were. The on site chippie was very tasty and has a small costcutter shop for the essentials.
The toilet blocks were kept clean but are a little dated now, so come on unity spruce them up a a bit :)
We've been her three years running now and have enjoyed each stay and can recommend it as somewhere to stay :)

Have been here before a few times when the kids were small and stayed in statics on site so kind of knew what we were getting into. Now the kids are older we are late comers to camping but thought why not go back only try camping this time.
We have had an absolutely fantastic week.
Toilet/washing facilities are superb clean, warm and well maintained.
The wardens were helpful and more importantly cheerful.
The pitch with electric hook up was great.
We like camping as we find it more sociable than staying in a static and all our neighbours were superb.
Even though the kids are now fourteen and sixteen the fair and the club catered for everybody's needs and the local markets and boot fairs gave ample opportunity for a walk and a browse.
The swimming facilities have been upgraded since our last visit and represent real good value for money with your site discount rate which is also available at the fair.
We took a trip into both Burnham on Sea and Weston Super Mare and with the obligatory trip to Clarks shopping village have had a really full, active enjoyable and entertaining week away.
We cannot recommend HRU highly enough whatever your mode of accommodation another great holiday in Somerset.

We were told about the camp site by my daughter. When we got there everyone was polite and friendly, we haven't been camping for over twenty years and were amazed how things had changed, the toilet block was fantastic warm and clean, doesn't matter what time of day, music playing which helped especially at night when it can be scary.
I was also amazed at the washing up area. There was a laundry room if needed, we walked around the site at all the different areas, well sign posted.
The club on site very good for family's with small children, but not for us old folk. Good shop, takeaways. Very close to the beach, down the road a pub and takeaways, what more do you need right on your door step.
FANTASTIC. And if you want your right in the middle, Weston only twenty five minutes away by car, and Burnham on sea the other way. Made new friends.
Will definitely be coming back, and telling friends and family

Lovely campsite, perfect for families with children. There is a park on the site for children to enjoy and there is a clubhouse which makes great family entertainment.
There is a large amount of staff on this site who are all very helpful and polite.
The facilities are always clean and well maintained.
The site is located very near the coast and also a short walk away from Brean theme park. There is a market walking distance from the site and also you can visit Weston Super Mare which is a short drive away.
The site is good value for money if you choose to use all the facilities, otherwise it is on the pricey side.
We have gone to this campsite with family and friends for many years and have always had a positive experience.

Visited Easter weekend stayed on Yellow field. HRU very busy so the wardens on yellow field ask us if we minded staying down by where their seasonals were.
Seasonals were very helpful on first arrival and throughout the weekend. I took my 4 year old grandson with us and he enjoyed riding his bike and playing with the other children from the seasonal tourers.
HRU felt safe and easy to get around.
Toilet and shower block were warm with hot showers, I did not queue at any time, the toilet were also cleaned on a regular basis.
There is a children's play area which was evident and suitable for children of all ages.
OH took grandson swimming which they both enjoyed at a discounted rate, we also had a discounted rate for grandson for the fair next door I think we paid under a tenner, I can tell you grandson made the most off, the rides were suitable for his age, he really enjoyed the fair. We did not go to the beach this time, but it is just across the road and you acn take the car onto the beach for a charge.
HRU has various amenities on site from a supermarket, takeaways and entertainment areas. Offering a good range of food items.
HRU could be whatever you wanted busy or relaxing holiday, being expensive or inexpensive.
Yes I would recommend and go back again.
