Been here twice now, both times we have stayed on the Brown field. The facilities are great, shop on site, take away etc, the toilets are spotless and showers are free and hot!

The electric hook ups are very good and also include water points which are situated right next to the pitches. There is a warden who is friendly and helpful and there is on site security who patrol throughout the night.

The beach is also very close by, but be warned, when the tide is out, don't attempt to reach the sea! It goes out for miles and is very muddy! The entertainment wasn't the best in my opinion, I think its more aimed at the kids.

My only gripes, are the fact that you have to be off site by 10, which can be a struggle when you have to pack everything away, I think they should allow people to stay until 12. And finally, I think its quite an expensive site, £40.50 for 2 people for 2 nights with electric and a 10% discount is quite a lot. I would recommend this site to anyone and will probably go back once we are out of the peak season. Hope this helps!

We usually go on Yellow field but after being flooded out last year we decided to have a go on Brown instead. We arrived early to avoid traffic and were expecting to have to hang around until pitching time (1200) but were amazed when told at 0830 we could pitch. The warden showed us to a flat well grassed large pitch amongst the caravans.

The field was very full when we arrived on the Saturday but come the Bank Holiday Monday it was nearly empty and come Tuesday there were no more than a dozen units on the whole field.

The toilet block was refurbished last year and is kept in good clean order and the wardens do a good job. Brown field is the furthest away from all the amenities so be prepared for a walk, but in the evening the site land train runs to RJ's every 30 mins.

ENTERTAINMENT: The new resident band (Jump) has replaced Simple Life but are just as good, the visiting acts were good, but this current crop of Somerstars are quite poor. Most of last years crew have moved on for various reasons and the new bunch are not as talented, not as natural and not as together as a unit.

FOOD AND SERVICE RJ's is American diner themed and the food shows that. Its not bad food but the choices are limited, The Tavern has a much wider choice. Service was hit and miss on a busy night we were served within 20 mins but on a night when the place was less packed it took an hour for a Pizza and chips!

Beer prices are ok same as most places and there is the usual choice.

As prizes they give out lanyards and you can buy pin badges to swap, but this has dropped off from last time. The somerstars no longer wear them for kids to swap badges and the shop only sells 3 types so its really a little pointless.

As per usual the good old Brean wind was pretty constant and as people left it made us a little exposed. Overall a good visit but I just wish the wind would go away

Went with a group of friends for Unitys taster weekend, free pitch inc EHU.

The morning of departure we had a call to say our booking has been changed from one field to another, but the field we were moving to (yellow) had no hot water but we could still use the toilets. I was reassured that the green block toilets were only a short walk away. We had to take the car :( but one good thing was the toilet and shower facilities were 5 star and immaculate.

The pitches were also very good too hardstanding plenty of space and your own tap :) but only 10amp not as advertised (16amp)

We did not get to try anything as it wasn't open :( AJ's, Arcade and costcutter that was it, It would of been nice if the indoor pool was open and the other nightspots and bars at Brean leisure Park.

Security and bouncers on the doors at AJ's do a great job of keeping the kids in :)

There was a very large party of rugby club lads not fighting but were hogging the bar stopping people getting a drink! but that's not Unitys fault and the DJ did ask them to move away numerous times :)

There is one large play park quite a walk away from majority of pitches but top marks from the littleuns.

I think Unity could of made more of an effort in sorting out the toilet blocks not one engineer/repair person was seen all over the weekend, I had to fill a kettle and take it to the plate wash for hot water!

The biggest thing all weekend was the weather which unfortunately Brean is rather famous for, again not unitys fault :( the wind doesn't half whip up! take tie down straps and choose your pitch carefully! also the site like all the sites along Brean are prone to flooding.

We were put off after this visit mostly from the weather and the fact a taster weekend was not all it was cracked up to be :(

We visited this site on one of the FREE taster weekends that they have in March, grass pitch inc EHU for 4 people, 2 nights.

Unity called us the day before we went, to cancel our booking due to the grass pitches being water logged, however, we were offered a hardstanding pitch for £5, so £5 for 2 nights still a bargain and prefered to have a hardstanding pitch. The only downside being we were told it was up to the wardens if we were allowed our awning up (this they did once we arrived) Also the toilet block in the yellow field (our field) only had cold water due to problems, but we could use the other fields loos/showers. Now this site is HUGE, and the nearest loos were along way from some pitches, never mind other fields toilet blocks

The website and brouchure state 16amp EHU, however on arrival we were told that it was infact only 10amp.

The hardstanding pitches were very long, with space on the grass for your awning, also plenty of room in between the pitches, all with a tap and ehu that you shared with the pitch behind you, so 10/10 for the pitches.

The toilet/shower block was (apart from only having cold water) very nice, lots of loos/showers with some having a shower/sink and loo in one large cublicle, the building was also heated, and the wardens kept it very clean, shame we had no hot water.

As I said this site is massive, in the busy months it even has a land train that goes around the site to run people to and from the main area. Only 1 play area on the whole site, that the kids gave 10/10 for, except the fact it was so far away from our pitches.

The evening entertainment was held in RJ's (the only club that was open), now this is where things started to go haywire for us. Its an odd shaped room, stage in the middle, with two wings running off to the sides, themed a bit like an american diner. Now we like clubs and entertainment, but the volume in here was the worse that I have ever come across, no matter where you sat, even at the tables the furthest away, you were deafened by the music, no chance that you could speak to someone other than the person next to you, and even then you had to shout, got overcharged at the bar :o( and drinks poor quality.

The club has a very small area consisting of a couple of arcade games, other than this nothing for the kids to do, security was good, and wouldn't let children outside without an adult.

The taster weekend was a dissapointment as there was little tasting to be done as 90% of the site and facilities were closed.

The worse thing by far was once again the Brean WIND, our last day was awful, tent blown down, 4 adults trying to hold our awning down for a couple of hours, and friends awning collapsing. Now I know this isnt Unitys fault, but EVERY time we have been to Brean the wind has been the same, and its no fun.

Our 1st Camping experience in the Uk and it was fantastic. The site was the best we have visited to date. Disabled facilities were separate and kept brilliantly clean, always accessible. Plenty of ordinary toilets in an updated modernised block. Nice clean showers with plenty of places to place objects and clothes. 3 Family bathrooms. The pitches were cosy but as it was waterlogged when we arrived, we accepted a pitch next to some water and had plenty of room.

There was a good laundry, lots of chemical disposal points and washing up facitilies.

The entertainment was excellent at the on site clubhouse and my 2 year old son loved the character performances. The adult entertainment which followed was also very good and enjoyable. There was a good playarea for the children which was also very safe. The only draw back was the swimming pool was at Brean Leisure Park just off site so wasn't easily acessible and was opened limited hours, esp for a bank holiday weekend. There were fun buggies that good be driven around the park which our family had great fun on.

We were a little apprehensive about being next to the leisure park but we did not see or hear this from our camping field but it was in easy walking distance for the children to enjoy.

The staff were very friendly and dealt with all enquiries brilliantly.

This was the 1st time my disabled sister had ever camped and she loved the whole experience. We were unsure of how being in a wheelchair and camping would turn out but the staff and facilities at Unity made the whole experience a pleasure. We stayed an extra night to planned and have been on several camping trips since, not all as successful!

The area is accessible to Weston, and the Somerset Coast. The Beach at Brean Sands was clean and long, plenty of room.

I would definitely recommend this site!

What an absolutely fab site! It is huge and caters equally well for tourers as it does for the large numbers of statics on site.

We were pitched on the yellow field on a hard standing (this is the field closest to the FunFair). You can hear the fair from here but we didn't find it intrusive in any way.

Just a short walk along the road there is a brilliant chip shop where you can get an extra large fish (and believe me it's huge) and chips for £5.90 - there was more than enough for my husband and son to share !

A ride wristband for the leisure park is £16.99 (inc resident's discount) but beware the wristbands are only valid for 11am-5pm or 5pm - 10pm not all day as we expected. You just need to plan when you are going to eat so that you don't lose out on valuable ride time.

There is a Saturday market in the leisure park and car boot on a Sunday.

The pitches on site are pretty well spaced out and the wardens are more than helpful.

Bearing in mind that we were there over the Bank Holiday Weekend the staff did well to keep the shower blocks looking ok. My only criticism is that there was no mop and bucket so you couldn't mop out the shower before or after use, it seems that when they warden had left a bucket out in the past some idiots had just tipped the water all over the floor.

The Green field is largely seasonal pitching and the Brown field seems to be grass pitching mainly and this is also where the rent-a-tents are.

If you want a seat in the entertainment bar (RJ'S) then you need to be an early bird - people were queuing at 6pm to get in!

The swimming pool wasn't the largest in the world but the boys still enjoyed it.

We rented one of the two seater bikes which at £8 per hour seemed pretty good value (you do need to leave a deposit of £10 too)

A bus runs to Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-sea from just outside the site.

There is a landtrain that operates around the site from 6pm to Midnight (this runs to the leisure park)

The site is very popular and therefore very busy at peak times and although can be a bit noisy we found that by midnight it was pretty quiet apart from the odd person wandering back to their units talking, there certainly wasn't loud music or loutish behaviour here.

We loved this site as it really does cater for all ages without losing that personal touch in fact we loved it so much that we ended up taking a seasonal pitch!

Just returned from this site. Was shown to the pitch by Malcolm (green field)who was quite overwhelmed by the weather and the destruction to his beautifully mown pitches which I must add at this point were so close together that although we were in a motorhome we could actually hear the gentleman on the next pitch (tent)snoring so loudly he kept us awake. We found Malcolm very friendly and informative as the site is massively impressive. There is so much to do on this site you cannot get bored whatever your age or the weather throws at you. Our three year old daughter loved the tiny trotters club and the evening entertainment. The drinks and supermarket prices were a little steep but cost of inflation recently must be taken into account. The shower block in green field was spotless and the family bathrooms with shower and bath for younger children was a godsend especially as the weather was the worst ever so much so that some unfortunate families went out for the day only to return to no upstanding tents and therefore had to pack up broken tents and return home early. The beach was clean and scenery spectacular especially when the sun deemed us with its presence. The local pub was great outdoor play area excellent well priced and fresh home cooked meals. Well visit worth a return visit but will request hardstanding pitch and return for a week rather than 4 days you need this much time at least to tour the amenities on site alone.

We've just returned from a week at this park and we have enjoyed every bit. On arriving at the site we were greeted by our warden who led us to our pitch. Once set up we found it easy to orientate ourselves as the site maps are displayed all around the site showing you where you are. The toilet and washroom facilities are spotless and all the showers are set at one temperature comfortable but not hot enough to burn the little ones. We found the shops to be well catered a bit overpriced but i've paid more on other sites with less amenities. The club houses were good and catered for all ages, Prices were fair, food was good the pizza's were good value and a meal for the kids in itself, The fair was a good size easy to get there even though we were in the green area. Pool was good even though a bit small swimming is at 2hr intervals a nice rest from the kids. Good sized pitches we were able to park the car next to the caravan and awning and still have space this was ideal for us as this was our first time touring we intend on going next year even if it does rain. 10/10 P.S check out the market for some good bargains

Just returned from 10 nights at Unity. As mentioned in other reviews this is a very big site. We stayed on Yellow field, which had a lot of units on it. The site is well maintained and the shower blocks always clean, however found the water to be cold on the basins most of the time. But the showers always hot. There is also a bath in one cubicle.

There was a fair bits of heavy rain while we were there and this did highlight a drainage problem on quite a few pitches (so if your in a tent or using an awning pitch carefully so you not in a low spot).

If you like peace and quiet then this site is NOT for you. There seemed to be very little regard to others when people returned to their pitches, making lots of noise.

If you going to use the chip shop go to Porkers behind the RJ's nightclub, Alan's Takeaway is awkful, whereas Porkers is of an acceptable quality.

If you going for evening entertainment we found RJ's to be great (but the main act does start a little late). The other venues weren't up to much. RJ's was busy but not overly crowded considering the size of the site.

If you go make sure you get a map as it's easy to get lost when you first arrive.

We paid £332.50 for 10 nights with EHU for 2 adults and 2 kids, which with the quality of entertainment we thought was good value.

We would consider going to this site again, but probably in one of their static caravan instead of touring due to the noise of other tourers (unless we could get a pitch well away from the main routes/roads that vistors use).
