Have just returned from a few nights stay here and will definitely be staying again! We were there with our 10 year old son so were after a site that was clean and safe yet gave him a chance to roam and make friends. This did it all. There is an excellent games room with air hockey, pool, table tennis etc and a trampoline and playpark as well. The wash rooms were spotless and the shop well stocked especially with emergency camping/caravanning supplies.
Local beach was great, pebbles at high tide but great rock pools and area of sand at low tide, we caught crabs and and lots of shrimps. You can also do various beach/cliff walks from free car park. Cafe is great too. Ogmore beach is beautiful and perfect for swimming/body boarding and building sand castles, parking on dunes. All in all a lovely quiet site perfect for chilled out time.

The owners of this site are indeed welcoming and helpful. The showers and washing facilities are excellent and the shop is quite well stocked.
We had two gripes though:
1)There is a small play area on a hard surface, but we didn't use it much as there were usually a large number of unsupervised children. There were also a number of children being allowed to ride their bikes very fast around the site without any care for other campers.
2) Despite ringing in advance and requesting a large pitch our pitch was too small, we felt quite cramped (we do have a rather large 8 man tent). The owners have assured us that if we go again they will try to arrange a larger pitch.
Lovely beaches nearby - especially Ogmore. Good grocery shops in Llantwit too. Despite our grumbles we would use the site again if guaranteed a big enough pitch.

I went here after reading the other reviews and because it is really the only site in this particular area.
The facilities, as others have mentioned, are good. They are spacious and were always clean.
The owner lady was very friendly and polite and also helpful which was also good.
However the allocated pitches I found to be small and as such we were very close to the 'neighbours' so there was very little of your own space. We certainly felt cramped. I also felt that it was quite expensive (£4.50 for my two year old to stay).
The noise was also a problem with several fairly loud groups and music being played. Although I realise that the owners can't choose who stays the promised circuit-of-the-park-at-night to control these things either didn't happen or was ineffective. Perhaps we just chose a bad weekend.
Perhaps a weekend off-season here would be a bit more palatable.
However the site was reasonably situated for exploring the area.

Do not be put off by the rough farm track leading to the site. Once you arrive you will be in for a treat. Very clean site, very hot water, spotless shower and changing rooms. Pitches are large and some surrounded by hedges giving extra privacy. Shop on site sells most of your needs at reasonable prices. Great if you have kids with good playing area. I would fully recommend this site.

What a superb site and fantastically run 5 star.
The site is tucked away behind a farm and is peaceful, relaxing and well sheltered, the facilities are probably the best we have experienced and that includes the very helpful staff.
The site itself is well situated for exploring the region with good road and train links, local shops are well stocked and very cheap, we tried one of the village pubs The White Lion and was given a warm welcome, great food and even a lift back to the site by one of the locals.
If this is an area of Wales you want to visit we would definitely recommend the site to both couples and families

Quick weekend get away with really good weather. Myself, hubbie, daughter 6 and Niece 7.
Campsite is tucked away through the lanes.
Arrival and booking in was pleasant and quick.
Facilities were clean and never full even with a full campsite. Showers are roomy.
Although the campsite is aimed at families one group kept us up until 3am. However a quick word with the owners and they were asked to leave - couldn't ask for more really.
Girls loved the playpark and a few small ponds around the grounds had tadpoles - so that kept them amused for hours!
Local area has some lovely beaches and we tried a few.
Would go back and would recommend to others

We stayed there for 10 days in August 2008 and it was the wettest 10 days I have ever experienced.
Luckily we have a good quality canvas frame tent which held up to the wind and rain well.
Access to our tent was very muddy and squelchy but considering how much rain there had been was to be expected.
Shower block was very large and clean, the onsite shop was well stocked and reasonably priced.
We paid about £160 - £170 to camp for the ten days and that included electric hook up.
Our 7yr old daughter thought that it was the best ever holiday (lots of children playing and making friends in the play area like the good old fashioned holidays. The town was 20 mins walk with everything that you need and about 5 pubs.
We would definitely go back again.

I stayed here for five days, camping with my sister, her hubby and five of their children. A lovely site, relaxed, good facilities, reasonably priced.
They have a 'quiet time' in the evening to discourage people from noisy parties that disturb others, so good and restful (apart from one of my nieces that decided to exercise her little lungs on the first night!)
Altogether a good family park.

Stayed here for the week, read all the reviews on here first.
What a gem of a site, dont be fooled on the aproach as you go through a farm yard, roads a bit rough but worth the drive.
There are two tent fields on the right as you drive towards reception, both are on a bit of a slope but nothing major. First field is more wooded than the second, so I would suggest the second field is a better choice, ie gets more sun less midges. We stayed in the second field, it was more or less full all week, nice and clean field, ehu were no problems nice and close. The pitches are large and how they should be, we had no problem pitching a large 6 man tent, utility tent and had room for the table chairs and the car on the pitch. You also have a field designated for mainly tourers or statics, so cant comment much on that.
Toilet block is also great. Its a big building close to the caravans, the showers are some of the best I've used on my many sites I've visited.
You've got 4 shower cubicles, also about 5 wash basins. What I liked was that in the shower cubicle you've also got wash basin in, so handy for shaving. Shaver points, you've also got a hairdryer for you who like to groom lol. They were always clean to a high standard. In the toilet block you've got the washing machines dryers, never used them myself, also the dishwashing area is inside the block.
The games room is basic, but was always full of kids, pool table. Also you've got a full size snooker table in a seperate room. Price was £3 a hour.
Shop sold basic stuff, also sold camping stuff, reasonably priced to. Also take away was available. Owners were very nice always said good morning that a rare event on some sites we've been to. Overall would recommend this site.

Our first camping trip ever, and it was fab! we chose a site close to home, just in case we hated it! luckily we loved it. The site was extremly well run. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and shown promptly to our pitch. Our pitch was pitch N and my sister and her family were on pitch M, both were great, really private with bushes to the side and back. The Shower Blocks and Dish Washing facilities were spotless. The childrens play area was a godsend as the weather was not great the weekend we visited! We are familiar with Llantwit Major as my Mother in Law lives there, so we were familiar with the walk to the beach (go the field route rather than the road), we also knew that the May Far chinese in the town was fab, so that was Saturday's supper sorted! Although the site was fully booked when we went, it was still very tranquill. Would highly recommend this site.
