Just the best site! Love the area, the facilities, the dog walks. If you're fit enough you can even walk to the pub! In places it is bit hilly, nothing too extreme though. We have never had a problem setting up our caravan. Helpful staff and good reception area with lots of local tourist information.
We recommend this site, it's off the beaten track, but it's beautiful and peaceful [even in school holidays]. Near to lots of lovely Norfolk towns and villages.

Sadly a less than friendly welcome,a lack of attention to rules like keeping dogs on leads and the pitch spacing regulations. All facilities are very clean but there were queues at peak times, very annoying as not all the cubicles were made available for use, ie they were locked!
A very pretty site with lovely walks directly from the site and the best view in North Norfolk from the top of Incleboro Hill, pity there is not a sign post on site to the gate, we must have given people directions most days as we were pitched nearby.
East Runton beach is ideal for dogs, useful shops at both West and East Runton if you didn't want the trip to the supermarket in Cromer. East Runton is a pleasant 20 t0 30 minute walk. Nice places to visit within easy driving distance lots of tourist leaflets available on site.

This is the first time we have received less than a friendly welcome at a camping and caravan club site which was a pity. However the location and excellent facilities made up for the glitch at the beginning.
As others have written the showers are the push button type which is less than refreshing. But we had a nice sheltered pitch by one of the hedges that run through the site. We will be returning later this year as we had such a nice time.

This is our new favourite campsite! I can imagine it might be tricky driving a large vehicle down the approach road but our car managed it very well and it is a very pretty approach.
The site is beautifully maintained and in a lovely location surrounded by woods. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and were shown to our pitch, perfectly situated overlooking the play area (we have 3 small children, 6, 4 and 1).
Showers and toilets were immaculate every time we visited and are roomy and practically laid out. Play area is basic but very nice and the sandpit was a draw for all the site's young visitors. Our older 2 made lots of friends and we only saw them when they were hungry!
There are lovely walks from the site and a short drive took us to Sheringham were we spent an idyllic day on a sandy beach. The Village Inn at West Runton is lovely for a drink and the food looked good but we didn't eat there.
The fish and chip van that visits the site was excellent and worth a long queue.
We will definitely return and in fact my husband and 4. 5 year old are insisting it is the only place they will camp from now on.

Just got home from a week away at this site, what a fantastic site, very busy on the day we arrived but by the Sunday afternoon only a handfull of units left in our section.
The facilities were spotless and we never had to queue for the shower once. The site manager let a group of teenagers doing the Duke of Edinburgh Award on site and they were camped next to us for our final 2 days, initial thoughts were OMG kids but they were so well behaved we were not disturbed.
Friendly staff always willing to go out of their way to help Will sure be using this site again

Access to the site a tad tight and proved dicey when met with oncoming traffic between passing points so take it steady !
Not the normal friendly welcome you would come to expect from a Camping & Caravan site although, we were pleased to find that this was only the one lady who greeted guests on arrival who evidently was less than happy in her work and outlook on life which was commented by more than 1 person on the site. All other staff and management on site were a pleasure to have met.
The facilities in general were very clean and well serviced however, the family rooms drainage lead to flooding, squigying the floor and a break to let it drain being required half way through our family of 4 being showered.
An attractive site with a great play area for the children and the nearby West and East Runton beaches were quiet, un-commercialised and very enjoyable for activities such as crab fishing and rock pooling.
Nearby Cromer and Sheringham are also very pleasant and well worth a morning or afternoon visit with the Steam train journey a must for young children.
Will go again and probably again and again !

Just spent four nights here during this lovely weather. As others have stated the long woodland lane to the site is rough but not too bad when dry.
There are two toilet blocks, and the one we used was fully functional, with large and small shower cubicles and separate washing sinks. Perhaps the only minus was the showers push button timer to dispense the water which requires pushing every twenty seconds or so. The washing up facility was excellent with really hot water.
The site is quiet and peaceful. After being inducted into the site by the warden we were shown to a choice of pitches by a friendly assistant.
Wells Next The Sea and Blickling Hall are great days out.
There are many other lovely gardens and properties in this area to visit, but check the opening days and times first.

This was our 1st visit to any Camping and Caravanning Club site and we thought that the facilities were really good. We took our 2 dogs with us and the walks around the site (just through the hedge) were fantastic.
The surrounding area is really nice, Sheringham Park is also excellent for dog walking (dogs allowed off lead).
Would recommend for keen walkers and dog owners.
It is a bit bumpy down the track to the site but not as bad as I anticipated having read the other reviews on here.
The site is close to Cromer & Sheringham and withing walking distance of the beach using very pleasant footpaths.
Lots of Rabbits & Squirrels around the site, also saw a red deer. The National Trust warn of Adders we didn't see any but did meet a dog walker who had

Stayed 4 nights at this site. Have to say I found the road to the site not as bad as expected, but then again I wasn't towing a caravan or driving a Campervan.
On arrival I found the lady a tad rude, when checking in. We are still new to all this and never been to a C&CC site, so I had a few questions, but it seemed a bit of a pain for her to answer.
The site itself was excellent, showers/toilets always clean and available. With it being school holidays it was busy, but the 6 meter meant we had plenty of room around us.
Found it was well placed for all the places to visit.
Was well catered for family's, with family was rooms, although one was closed for refurbishing.
Overall was a good site for us, apart from the one staff member being rude I enjoyed my stay. A good base to explore Norfolk.

Just returned from long wet weekend at West Runton. First of all the long track to approach the site very narrow and rough, full of potholes and difficult if needing to pass other vehicles. On arrival at site we were met at the automatic barrier and given instructions to enter the site, which were somewhat confusing after a long journey but can see the wardens were just trying to be super efficient. Had to go to reception to pay balance and get more info, unfortunately one of the receptionists very rude and unhelpful which gave us our first impression of the site. Thankfully the guides showed us to our pitch which was beautiful so we were back to all being happy.
The site was beautiful, we were pitched next to our friends and we were all very happy, the sun was shining and being in an area where we could play frisbee and ball games the children were very happy too.
The walks out of the site were lovely and there are some beautiful views of the coast just from the back of the site.
We took our border terrier pup with us, but the information says dogs not allowed to mess or wet on the site and no provisions for dogs on the site.
The toilet blocks were lovely and very clean, lots of hot water in the showers and lots of space for getting changed. Pot washing facilities also good.
Unfortunately all changed on Saturday when the site really filled up, we were expecting it to be busy as bank holiday weekend but the site was absolutely packed and spoiled what we thought was a lovely site. The tents were crammed in, the area we were in was supposed to be a designated play area but there was no room for the children to be able to play.
With such an increase in people the toilets and showers became unsuitable with queues of people waiting to try to get in the shower. For some reason some of the toilets and sink areas were blocked off, which seems crazy when so many people waiting. The surrounding area was lovely, the kids especially loved bewilder woods, crabbing at cromer and rock pooling at west runton.
The Village Inn at West Runton was a lovely meal with great service.
Would like to return to the area and would maybe give site another try but avoid at peak times.
