Great site. Reasonable priced. Bit of a slope on grass pitches but level on hard standing. Showers etc were to a high standard. Easy walk over hill to golf club and hotel and inn on the green for great food. One gripe was the drive way down very tight and uneven but only used when going in and leaving.

Just back from a week at this gorgeous campsite. We have stayed in a few in the area and this is definitely the best so far.
As others have mentioned the access road is narrow and bumpy but fine if you take your time. We were greeted by really friendly staff and asked to park in a queue and then shown to a pitch. We were asked if we had an preference and were easily accomodated despite the park being very busy.
Our pitch was on quite a big slope but we were comfortable with that as we chose that position on the park. We were on the edge of the site with the woodlands behind which was perfect for walking the dog.
The site has 2 large, clean and heated shower/toilet blocks including a really soacious family shower room which was a great help with us having 2 little ones with us. That room also included a baby bath as well as the shower having a constant flow rather than push button which is a little detail but helps a great deal when trying to sort little kids out. I used the washing machine £3. 50 and dryer £2, clothes actually came out clean which is a first for us when using on site machines!
Great little playpark and plenty of space for kids to run around. V small shop which we only used for ice creams/sweets. There is lots of wildlife there as the site is surrounded by woodland and we saw deers and rabbits. The site is extremely quiet on an evening and no road noise at all.
Fantastic woodland walks straight off site where you can walk dogs off the lead. There is a golf club within walking distance serving decent meals and a pub with a great beer garden a little further in west runton. You can walk from there to the beach however it may be too far to walk with v young children.
Fantastic location for getting to Cromer, Sheringham, Wells, Blakeney etc.
Can't wait to visit again!

'Site was in a great location with the shower blocks kept very clean. Cannot fault the site itself or the way it is kept
However, after an initial warm welcome, the next couple of encounters with the wardens left me wishing I had gone somewhere else.
On my second night I was erecting a wind break on the grass behind my van to shelter my planned BBQ only to be sharply told that this was not allowed, I must keep all my outfit within the confines of the hard-standing. Something I was not told on arrival. When I tried to reason with the chap, its for one night and its just a wind break, it was met with an emphatic NO.
Bearing in mind the site was fairly quiet I found this a little perplexing. I understand there needs to be rules and to be honest that's not this issue, it was the general attitude that bothered me and that manner I was spoken to.
After seeing notices around site offer late departures, I followed the instructions and on the Sunday morning, went to the office before the allotted time to request we leave at 2pm. Again the attitude of the wardens was frosty to say the least. Problems with the lane was given as the initial reason for a flat NO. When I challenge this with 'why offer late departures on the notices' after a 'humph' they checked the number of arrivals. 8 were due in. 8!. I was 'granted' permission under duress.
At 1. 30 we decided to leave and thought it responsible to ask whether the 2 gust booked for a 1pm arrival had in fact arrived. Again more 'why are you bothering us' attitude. In the end my partner walked to the end of the lane and called when the coast was clear and was ready to advise any arrivals that I was in the process of driving up the lane. Just a bit of common sense and all was well.
Overall I would say lovely site shame about the staff. I for one will not be visiting again. '

Booked site for Easter weekend, but staying from the Thursday. Was met by staff member who told me to book in while he took our friends to their pitch and said ours will be next door. Booked in drove up to the pitch and got told off for not waiting to be sited, even though he told me where I was going 5 mins earlier.
Next day our friends got told off for putting their car on the next pitch. When they explained that it was for our friend who was arriving in 2 hours, got told they could not reserve pitches, even though they had paid for this pitch 30 minutes earlier and were just about to put up her tent that was in the back of their car.
Asked for late stay as per the notice on the toilets, to let the wardens know by 10. 30am. When asked for a late stay warden could not have been more unhelpful stating that due to the narrow lane they do not encourage late stays, so why put a sign up!. When asked what time would I be leaving, I said about 2pm, she then wrote down and said 2pm SHARP! then. I asked what the issue was and got told its due to the narrow site road. So how many are coming on today then I asked, (approx 220 units left the site on the Monday) oh, 8. I'll take my chances then.
Great site, great location, good facilities, totally ruined by the attitude of the wardens. Will I be back. Never.

Our first time in beautiful Norfolk and we enjoyed it very much. The site is situated in a out of the way spot down a long bumpy gravel forest track, we enjoyed the seclusion of that but it seemed to take forever to get in and out of the site some days, though this can't be helped.
The site is ideally located near West Runton village in between Cromer And Sherringham. Just up the road from the site (turn right) is the wonderful Hillside Animal Sanctuary which we spent a happy afternoon at, and is well worth a visit. They deserve all the support they can get.
The site itself is set amongst a backdrop of wonderful tall forest, it is well maintained and the facilities were very clean and well run, the wardens were all very friendly and helpful. There is a nice dog walk with a choice of routes which is lovely for the dogs.
Overall a very nice site we would return to.

Well what can I say what a gem of a site, yes access road is not the best but I did cycle it on a road bike up hill in 3 mins 6 seconds so can't be all that bad lol, but I am under the impression that planning permission has been applied for to rectify the roads issue's. Toilets and showers hot and clean throughout the whole 7 night visit. Play area was great for the children. Shop on site was a little pricey but had a good range of sweets and ice creams and lollies also sold camping bits and bobs including gas and local produce plus bread and milk. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Off site there is plenty of places to go and explore, mazes, museums, independent shops, walking and xc trails. East and west Runton about 1 and a half miles walk from the site. West runton has a spar shop, tea shops and a pub also a well stocked and very good and helpful camping and caravan shop. East runton has a nisa shop a couple of pubs and chip shop. Beaches are a mixture of sand and pebbles with plenty of rock pools and are very clean including the north sea. I joined the north Norfolk wheelers cycle club for one of there Wednesday cycle rides and had a great 45 mile ride with very friendly people. Dog friendly site with a good mixture of caravans, tents, camper vans trailer tents etc etc.

The arrival road is in need of repair, particularly at the top of the road where it is at its steepest. The roadway is, as other reviewers identified, rather narrow and bendy but departures in the morning and arrivals in the afternoon seems to prevent problems of passing When leaving/entering the site as a non-towing car at other times, a little courtesy giving way to those climbing the hill does the trick.
Reception after a long drive was a little irritating: having driven through the open barrier gate we parked nicely to the side and stopped, unbelted and climbed out of the car when we were told to move on, required to drive all the way round the site back to the exit road to park up to book in. Naturally, we did so - although what we really wanted was to stretch our legs!
Necessity for ramps on some pitches is an understatement: I consider some of the sloped pitches positively dangerous. Handbrakes on some caravans (particularly facing backwards down a slope) are notoriously dodgy (ours is, having been serviced by our local dealer!) and I used chocks and our ramps to protect those down the slope when attempting to pitch. In busy periods (August) there are few pitches to choose from - having established that our 6m caravan wasn't going to 'level' no matter what we did the site had only one other pitch available. So we re-hitched and moved on. In summary, it was a most inauspicious start.
Shown to the alternative, completely worn out by caravans and tents being repeatedly pitched in exactly the same spot, day after day, week after week, we were instructed to pitch 'just so' and did as we were told. It seems to me that a little flexibility in pitching would probably help the grass to recover. As another reviewer notes, the pitches are close with views of either your next door neighbour or his/her car.
Toilets were clean and kept clean and only once in a week did the toilet/shower have a queue. Wash basins were within attractive cubicles. Some of the locks were defective/broken/missing and this seems to be poor design coupled with inadequate maintenance. There was always hot water available.
Generally a quiet site in spite of the many families with children. Ball games and such like were concentrated in the play area. The main source of noise was a few badly trained dogs who would set each other off at random times - but the site was surprisingly quiet for the numbers of campers staying there.
Some lovely walks to be had. We walked to Cromer on three occasions for various carnival events; to West Runton for the beach and for dinner; and up the adjacent hill for a spectacular view of the Red Arrows display for Cromer Carnival.
Would we stay here again? - only if able to specify a level pitch.

We stayed here as husband playing golf in Sherringham. This was nearest camping & caravan club site.
Access is via an unmade bridle path/road with passing places Sadly if you meet oncoming traffic and they can't use the passing place properly it becomes quite tricky. I ended up trapped in my Motorhome (after I'd pulled into the passing place and asking if caravan er had enough room - he'd said he had) he managed to jam his caravan up against my Motorhome. We were stuck for an hour while helpers manoeuvred the caravan! So be aware!
The site is lovely. Spacious, clean, friendly.
You can easily walk via woodland footpath to west Runton and there is a few little coffee shops, pubs etc there and most allow dogs in. Also easy to access beach from there.
We walked into Sherringham from there also. Nice coastal walk there and tide was out on return so walked back via beach.
Next door is a caravan club site and also a golf course
Quite a good place to base yourself for the area
Nice flat grass pitch with electric
Water station available as you enter site and a small reception with some basic shopping goods
