Well after managing to drive down the long dirt track and I mean long we arrived at the site and the office was closed! The opening hours of the office are very short so be aware of this if you need anything.
When we had finally got booked in we were shown to our pitch and we set up for the 4 night stay we had booked. We did our usual thing of checking out the facilities and I have to say they were the best we have come across! There were plenty of toilets and wash basins and the shower cubicles were fab as they have a separate place for you to dress and the bonus is you can listen to the radio that is on all the time in the toilet blocks!
There is plenty to see and do in the area we went to cromer, sheringham and to a little village a bit further on from sheringham I forget the name to get on a boat out to blakney point to see the seals living there it was fab! The only downside to our stay was that the electric went off one day and the toilets couldn't be used so we were a little stuck as no emergency loos were offered and on the next day the barrier didn't work
The site is lovely and in the middle of a forest and there are some lovely walks and we would definitely book again.

Just got back from an 8 night stay at this site. Lovely & clean facilities. Site was busy but a pleasant and relaxing stay. Some lovely walks in the area and the beach at Cromer is impressive. Had a couple of v good meals at the White Horse in East Runton (also a good indian restaurant / takeaway in Cromer worth visiting).
The Shire Horse centre was enjoyed by my husband and I and our two young children. Also drove to Bewilderwood for the day and had a great time.
Definitely worth visiting Wells Next to Sea and doing some crabbing.
Only negatives about the site would be the road (or dirt track) to the entrance which is narrow and has many potholes and also the bedtime curfew was 11pm. Not great if you're chatting in an awning with friends (the wardens will come and tell you to quieten down!).
Will certainly visit this site and area again.

The dirt track road needs to be taken with care so as not to shake the crockery out of the cupboards.
This was our first stay on a C&CC site. The welcome was fine. The assistant wardens directing you to a pitch were extremely helpful.
The site always felt a bit crowded, it was mid summer holidays. Maybe it was the tenters 'marquees' and all their ancillary kitchen tents and dining lean-to's ! At certain periods of our stay it was difficult to negotiate the roadways because of the mass of guy-ropes!
My 2 year old loved his stay. He made lots of friends and made use of the kids play park. By the end of our 9 night stay he tried to make his own way to the park on his own on several occasions.
The local radio played in the toilet blocks was good to catch up on local news, events & weather, however I wouldn't like to have pitched close by as it was fairly loud. I did think that there were not enough facilities in the 2 toilet blocks, however I never needed to queue for anything during this busy period. I did think that one washing machine & dryer could have potentially been a bottleneck. We used them once.Got in early and didn't have any problems
There is too much to list in the local area for things to do. You just need to get out and explore. One recommendation if you like to eat fish is 'Cookies crab shack'. Its a fairly basic menu based mainly on seafood salads, but it is recommended that you book a table in peak season as it's always full
During our stay a 'fish & chip van' turned up twice a week and there was always a queue
We will be returning again to the area. We may look around at the other sites but would not be disappointed if we returned again to this one

Long single road with a few passing places to enter this site, which thankfully we did not meet another caravan on when leaving. The booking in was well organised but seemed to be a lengthy process, however it was nice to be shown to your pitch and allowed to move if unsuitable, as the ground where we we pitched was on the steep side!
The play park was enough to keep the kids entertained and it was great to see them climb trees!
The toilet blocks are amazing, no wonder they have won awards. When one is closed for cleaning, the other is open.
The reception shop provided the basics, but get there early!
Great walks for the dogs, one straight onto National Trust land, but you are warned about adders and not about the ticks!
West Runton, East Runton and Overstrand are just great. Fantastic beaches, great scenary.

A typical C&CC site - well laid out with good, clean, warm facilities blocks (x2) and plenty of water taps around the site and the standard small playground area - plus a sand pit and two boule pitches.
The site is reached by a single track unmade road(with passing places). It is at the foot of Incleboro Hill & is surrounded by mature trees on all sides. The site slopes from N to S.
There are a number of footpaths and bridleways that can be accessed from the site that take you to West Runton (15 - 20 mins), East Runton (10 mins) and Cromer (45 mins) The site staff are friendly but were a tad patronising and somewhat unhelpful when asked the best way to walk to West Runton (this was also the experience of other campers as we found out!)So, for the benefit of future campers.
Incleboro Hill is over the northern boundary of the site - this is at the top of the campsite. There is a footpath which runs along the Northern boundary and is accessed by 2 gates one towards each end of the site. At the footpath turn left (heading west) to go to West Runton. This should take you past the Caravan Club site which backs onto the C&CC site and takes you over Town Hill towards West Runton Golf course.
We enjoyed our stay - but I have not seen so many children, babies especially, on a campsite before. Unfortunately babies don't give a fig for the C&CC sites no noise rules! Other than camper noise the site is lovely and quiet with minimal environmental noise except from local wildlife (owls, pigeons etc.)
There is a nice pub serving real ale in West Runton along with a very nice cafe, a Spar and a Caravan Accessory shop. East Runton has 2 pubs (I can't recommend the Fisherman which was filthy), a chip shop and other shops. East Runton has the better beach and it's only a short walk along the beach to Cromer (be careful of the tide - it comes in very fast). Cromer is lovely with 2 nice small museums, a great pier and a super cafe / restaurant at the Rocket House (above the RNLI museum) plus the standard British seaside amusement arcades and funfair on the eastern side of the prom. There are also 2 putting greens and a very small boating lake with kayak type boats.
Other places worth a visit are:-
2 NT houses - Felbrigg and Blicklinghall
The Broads and Horsey Windpump - great NT beach at Horsey where you can walk to see seals.
Wells-next-the-Sea and Blakeney Quay (NB park at Blakeney Village Hall as the roads to the quay are very narrow!)

Just got back from a very pleasant stay at this well located site. The approach road is basically quite a long dirt track with a few potholes - so care is needed - and I imagine it could become unpleasant in wet weather. That said, the site itself is in a quiet, pretty spot and the facilities are excellent. I loved having a shower in the BIG cubicles with plenty of hooks for clothes whilst listening to the latest news on local radio! There are also personal wash basin areas for both men and women which are far preferable to the old communal basins! The site staff are friendly and helpful and there's a little shop selling the basics. The children's play area looked great and was being enjoyed by the few families that were camping at this time of year (most campers seemed to be in the 50+ age range though!). The surrounding area has lots to offer in the way of beaches, staithes and broads. Even if the coast is misty (which it was on several occasions) you can find hot sunshine by travelling a few miles inland. Well worth a visit but I would recommend booking in the school holidays as the site seemed very popular.

Arrived at 1.30pm, small queue to book in. Was shown to our pitch, which was near the play area - great for the boys. The shop is open twice a day from 9-10.30am and 4-5.30pm, selling the basics. Small information hut near to the gate with a whole lot of leaflets, maps and timetables. The site, even though it was full seemed quiet and relaxed. The toilet blocks were immaculate, nice large showers and separate private sinks with a large mirror and individual lights, complete with radio playing in the background. Didn't use the laundry area or the family bathroom, but the dishwashing area was just as immaculate. Each toilet block was closed for cleaning for 1 1/2 hours each day, but at different times, so there was always one you could use. We walked from the site to Cromer, and it took about 45 minutes at a leisurely rate. Cromer is a lovely town, not all arcades, but more traditional. The only negative I found with this site was the road entering the site. It is a single track road with some passing places, and if you time it wrong, there can be some problems with cars, motorhomes, caravans etc having to reverse either up or down the road to let others pass. Would be better if there was some sort of traffic control around the time of pitches being vacated and new campers arriving. This site is definitely on my list to do again.

We had a great 5 nights here over Easter & found the site really good for us as a Family. We had a pitch that directly overlooked the play area, which was great as it meant our two boys didn’t need constant supervising as we could watch them from the tent.
The site facilities were spot on & always clean, I certainly didn’t have to wait for a shower, washroom or loo all weekend in the gents.
There is a little shop on site that sells essentials (fresh bread, eggs etc) but it’s only open twice a day. For those who like a paper these can be ordered in for you. A Fish & Chip van comes to site on a Sunday & Tuesday at 19:30 but I would start queuing early as it took an hour to get served, thankfully the chips were worth the wait
Out the back of the site there are some great walks heading off in all directions.
West Runton is definitely a site we will go back to.

We went for our first trial run at camping, 2 adults and children aged 6 and 8. Important to me was good toilet and shower facilities and I wasn't disappointed they were very good, separate areas from the loos for washing and doing teeth and a spacious family bathroom. Children enjoyed the play area. Staff were very helpful and friendly as were other campers who offered us tea and an electric pump to blow up our airbeds. Children enjoyed the beach which was an enjoyable walk from the campsite. A good experience I would recommend this site.
