Just got back from this large site with separate fields for tents etc, toilets are very rustic and we did have to que as it was a very busy weekend, 1 shower for men, and 1 for women 20p for 2 mins water was hot, ample washing up areas. Tree swing kids enjoyed also the free range poultry and lovely eggs you can buy.
Post office a short walk down road and not to far to Bridlington.
This site has to be seen to be believed I certainly have never seen anywhere like it before.
Think it would be better in less busy periods very quiet area.

A site with lots of character in a nice village with a small shop and pub that does food, plenty of places to visit within a short car journey. Turkeys, hens, guinea fowl and ducks wander around, plenty of room for children to play. The grass on the camping field is well mown and there are plenty of rubbish bins, the owner insists on recycling. He opens a bar in the evening, and serves a very nice reasonably priced breakfast in a bun in the mornings. We found the hired fire pit a godsend as it was very cold in the evening. The only downside is the toilet / shower facilities which although cleaned are very heath robinson. A great place to go for a long weekend.

What a great site
My son enjoyed feeding the many birds on the site and we all enjoyed the camp fire that Robert allowed. Oh and the eggs are out of this world (a must for the breakfast's) very yummy.
The only draw back is the lack of hot water (for washing up) and the showers weren't that great (only 1 for the gents with more cold water than hot)
But that didn't put us off, we will visit Rob again.

Just returned from our second visit to this fantastic campsite. In the middle of the wolds, not far from the coast, it is a perfect place to spend a few days. The owner Rob is very friendly and very funny and works tirelessly, almost single handedly, to do everything from sort and clean toilets, make breakfast from the Chuck Waggon on a morning, deliver wood for the camp fires, check people in, sort out the free range chickens and turkeys, serve beer in the bar at bank holidays etc.
This is a really friendly and relaxed site with big fields that hold a lot of tents, together with a quieter filed through the hedge overlooking a farmer's field. The atmosphere here is tremendous with its ramshackle farm buildings. Toilets are ok (Tinkle Cottage) and there is a chem disposal (Chemical Alley) and showers.
Kids love it - especially the tree swing and turkeys. We will be back again and again.

We spent a weekend here with our friends and had a great time. Rob runs the site and does absolutely everything - cleaning, cooking the breakfasts, maintaining the site, greeting visitors, running the farm, manning the bar etc. No idea how he keeps up with it all!
Plenty of space for our extra large tent and porch and we didn't have to pay extra. 4 washrooms and a shower room for the ladies (I assume it's the same for the men) but they are very basic. Elsan point, 2 wash-up points and water points. EHU's are available. There are many seasonal pitches and caravan storage from £5 a week.
Chuck wagon is open in a morning for breakfasts and then open again on a night as a bar (Rob will give you a plastic glass if you want to take your pint back to your tent). We rented a BBQ with charcoal for £3 and a fire pit with a massive pile of wood for £4.50 - so much easier than collecting it yourself. Recycling bins all over the place - nice to see there are people who care about the environment. The next project is to power more EHU's from solar panels and run the loo flushes off rain water - a fab idea!
£10.50 per tent with 2 people (£12.50 on BHW's. Extra people £1.50, dogs and cars free. Showers 20p for 2 minutes. This was great value for money and we are definitely going again!

Just come back from spending two nights at Mere Farm Campsite. How does the owner do it - he makes the breakfasts (which are fantastic and really good value), delivers campfires and wood, mows the grass, looks after the chickens, cleans the showers and toilets - the man is a marvel who always has a smile and a joke! Lovely big area for your tent, plenty of toilets but only one shower (costs you 20p for 2 minutes) but they are cleaned every day. Unfortunately some campers don't clean up after themselves! Kids love the chickens and the two huge turkeys. Just 7.5 miles to Bridlington and Burton Fleming itself is a lovely little village. If you want a giggle round the campfire and be in the perfect location to travel to Bridlington, Scarborough, Flamborough Head and Filey and eat the best bacon, sausage and egg butties, then this is the place for you!

Just come back from Mere farm had 2 nights there, great campsite back to proper camping, facilities not 5 star but serve the purpose. Rob the owner friendly and helpful, cooking breakfast on a morning then doubles up as a bar on a bank holiday weekend selling local beers, all reasonably priced Couple of shops in village and a pub serving food, all within a short walk. Camp fire hire £4.50 with wood very popular with campers. Will definitely visit again.

The best thing about this site is the amount of space you get for your pitch, however, if you have the space you cant have a hook up. Well worth going without your light tho! It is like stepping back in time on this site. Feel like your miles from anywhere but very conveniently located to tour the surrounding areas.
The best thing for us was the open fire, my children loved it, and the free range hens! Breakfast can be bought on site and a couple of little shops within easy walking distance. It's a great site.
The only negative has got to be the facilities. They are ancient and not very clean. Could do with a bit of a revamp. Also, area for cleaning dishes is dirty and no hot water.
Would definitely visit again and recommend it to anyone wanting to try real camping!

The site was interesting and seemed not to have any of the features finished.
There was a limit set of 5 Amp supply which was not sufficient for our van, This should be made obvious on all site information. Because we were early season we were able to negotiate a 10 Amp supply
The site claims green credentials which is I suspect an excuse for poor maintenance, cleanliness and general facilities
The toilets were not clean and in a poor state of repair, there was a 3-4' flex in the gents toilet floor. We did not use the toilet facilities provided relying on our caravan.
With the amount of building rubble on the site at the time of our visit I would not wish to take children to his site.
The local pub when open is a delight the area was very pleasant and interesting.
If this site is ever completed to the same standard as the other local sites then it would be the ideal site for exploring the east coast.

We found this camp site on the internet about 9 months ago, me and my wife have stayed there about four weeks since we found it. Rob is great, the animals are clean and well fed. The site is what we have being looking for. We have camped all over but mere farm is the best yet. There is a nice pleasant shop in the village, a very good butchers, and the pub has reopened the burton arms, a very nice public house. We cannot say nothing bad about burton flemming, happy Christmas see you very soon, james and julie breslin, from bradford.
