Just returned from a visit to this campsite. To be honest it wasn't our first choice but we booked late for the bank hol weekend and struggled to get in anywhere. This site had good reviews so we thought we would give it a try. We have a tent with electric hook up; two adults and two children. We were charged £20 per night for a tent with two people plus £5 each for the children making £30 per night plus an extra £2. 50 per night for bank hol fri and sat night making a total of £95 for 3 nights which is extortionate in my opinion for camping - we have never paid no where near as much as that. Yes the site is quirky but it's also not clean.

Ladies toilets and showers are surrounded by birds cages and wandering ducks and geese so the smell is awful and going to the toilet in he dark is awful as you have no idea what you are going to stand in. My son of 8 years was sworn at and accused of chasing rabbits when he was playing tig with another boy ( we live on a farm - chasing rabbits is of no interest to him). The father of the other boy ended up in a row with the man outside our tent and the man threatened to come back in the morning and 'knock his head off'. Not a nice experience on our first night and we all wanted to go home!

We did get used to the roaming animals, statues with wellies on, junk laying around and dirty facilities and yes is quirky but not in a nice way. On the plus side the site is in a great location and the pitches are flat. The price is ridiculous in my opinion and in many years of camping its the only site I would definitely not go back to.

Sorry not for us.

We have camped here several times in the last 3 years due to the campsite accepting pets, allowing campfires and mainly the price - £5pppn for a Non EHU tent pitch. (please note the price has doubled in 2014 to £10pppn)

The site it well placed for Bridlington and surrounding areas and has a pub nearby. The site also has a 'chuck wagon' that sells breakfast sandwiches and we're told turns into a bar on busy weekends in the evenings.

The site is big on recycling and there are several signs pointing out what goes where in the bins. The Ladies showers and toilets are located in a recycled Silo. You have to pay extra for the showers and I found the showers to be adequate. There is also a freezer located here for your ice packs etc.

The owner has a friendly Labrador that freely roams the campsite, along with turkeys, chickens and rabbits so if you're not an animal lover this may not be the site for you.

We were planning to return with family and friends in Easter 2014, but we have noticed that the site have doubled their prices to £10pppn.

This increase meant that it would cost our party £320 to camp over Easter on a site that has basic facilities, so we are reluctantly trying camping elsewhere for the first time in 3 years.

We've just returned from two nights at Bobby Bees, which has now instantly become my daughter's favourite place. She's 4. There are guinea fowl, turkeys, rabbits, cockerels and chickens roaming the site, which is entertaining to say the least. We had read about the owner's dog, George, before we went, so he was already somewhat of a legend before we got there. He more than met my daughters expectations, visiting pitches, laying by the fire, making himself comfortable wherever. He seemed to have a nice nature though and I felt very comfortable with him around my little girl even though he's a huge dog.

Aside from the animals and quirky statues and things dotted around, the site has a rope swing, a tyre swing, a normal swing, all hanging from a big tree in the middle of the site. My daughter loved this and it seemed to be a great meeting place for the kids. Next time I will try to pitch closer by so I can drink coffee, whilst she socialises.

The quirky statues (lions, a pirate, some child mannequins, a boat, to name but a few) are absolutely wonderful and certainly give the site a great deal of charm and originality.

The bathrooms are spacious, not spotless, but they have homely touches and are pleasant enough - clearly effort has been made to put fresh flowers in and a few other bits and pieces. Sadly, the doors aren't great on the showers, so the floors were often wet which was a shame. But then people should also have a responsibility to leave the bathroom as they find it, and obviously not all visitors do this. Anyway, the bathrooms were spacious and private. We paid £1 for a ten minute shower which was decent and hot.

The chuck wagon is open on weekend mornings for a variety of sausage/bacon/egg sandwiches, as well as good coffee, and cold drinks. You can sit there and eat, or take your food away. The Chuck Wagon itself looked very clean and well stocked.

I would have liked to have seen the glitter ball and fairy lights lit up at the Cock and Bottle, but we didn't see that. Maybe this is for bank weekends only, along with the bar. We did however see a lot of fairy lights on the boat and various gazebos around the site, which my daughter loved. It certainly gave the site a real magical feel to it.

I enjoyed the atmosphere here. The staff and visitors were friendly. It has a great laidback feel to it. Camp fires are allowed (£5 per night for a firepit and wood). Gazebos are allowed too by the looks of things.

The location is fantastic. Five minutes from Hunmanby. 10 from Reighton Sands. 15 from Bridlington. 10 from Filey. Perfect.

I would have liked to see a communal freezer somewhere. Maybe I missed it, and it is something I'll be asking about before I visit again, as we had nowhere to refreeze our freezer blocks which is a big problem if you want to stay longer than a couple of days without electricity.

We will definitely come back to this site. Next time, as mentioned, I will pitch nearer to the swings or closer to one of the wooden table/benches that are dotted around. We might also pitch looking at the ponies.

I take my hat off to the owner for doing a commendable job. I will definitely be returning as much as possible. (At a fiver a night, its an absolute fantastic find. )

Great camping site in the middle of Burton Fleming, a beautiful village. The site is certainly a little quirky and the owner may com across as a little eccentric but he and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

There are animals such as guinea fowl, domestic rabbits, cockerels and a turkey roaming the site along with George the owners black Labrador who may help himself to your food and bits and pieces but he's friendly too.

The facilities are a little basic but clean and you may have to queue for a shower a peak times at 20p per 2 minutes.

Whilst I didn't use it there is a 'Chuck Wagon' serving breakfast sandwiches open between 9am and 10am and this may also serve on busy evenings.

The local pub is a 5 minute walk which serves good food at a reasonable price.

All in all a lovely site in a lovely location, very reasonably priced with basic but clean facilities. I'd happily return.

We having been coming to this site with family for 4 years and was a lovely site to visit but sadly this trip will be our last! It has become too popular and is now a very busy site which is such a shame. We were pitched next to a group of families with dogs which were not on leads and the owners had no control of the dogs which kept darting into our tent and belongings all day! There was also a big group of lads with around 5 tents on the opposite field who played extremely loud music and partied until around 4am before fighting and leaving the site. By allowing these types of people on the site it has spoilt what was once a lovely peaceful campsite with good facilities.

Bobby bees in the heart of Burton Flemming, 4 miles to Filey, 7 miles to bridlington. What a wonderful camp site, its an old quirky farm, the staff are great. Recycling is a must. The showers and toilets are up to standard. The place is great with all the animals wandering, and not to forget the dog George, what a great dog. Cant wait to get back

I loved this site and the staff and owner were great too. The site has a quirky, magical feel to it. Animals roaming freely around the tents and caravans, the kids loved this.

The site is beautifully maintained by its owner, it has a relaxed look about it with rambling roses and quirky statues dotted about. The look is informal but clearly takes some hard work on the owners part. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. As a single mum with two young girls on my first camping holiday I was a little anxious about feeling safe and also whether I'd be able to manage. The staff on the site ensured help was available and they did not seem to mind any requests for help, their service was always with a smile. The site felt safe and the added bonus of fire pits for hire at night added to the whole experience.

The toilets and showers are perfectly adequate. They are not top of the range but I think any ultra modern facility on this site would detract from the ambience and magic. The showers are warm, I managed to shower myself and two kids for just a pound. There is enough room to attend to your children's needs in private, not like other sites where you have block showers.

The Chuck wagon is charming in accordance with the rest of the site.

The pitches are flat and the field is well drained. I was on a no electric tent pitch and endured some heavy showers but the ground drained well and did not turn boggy.

The local area is pretty and you can reach Filey, Whitby and Scarborough easliy within the day.

I can't wait to return to this site, not only because of it's beauty and relaxed feel but also because of the welcoming attitude of the staff and owner.

We really enjoyed our stay here. After reading the reviews, we got what we expected.

The plusses out list the minus in my opinion.

Good Side.

Within walking distance of a lovely village that has a fabulous butcher, nice pub, lovely cafe that sells nice cakes, local shop that sells all sorts of stuff. The church is worth a visit.

The pitch we had was lovely in the first area that is provided rather than the tent field. Very attractive and peaceful.

Nice to see the chickens and rabbits.

Chuck wagon was good - we only bought the good coffee there, real and fresh.

Room for improvement

Showers and toilets but as we were in a caravan we could use our own facilities, would not recommend for our friends who are in tents.

We will definitely go back, the site is charming and quirky and we liked the owner!

This was our first camping trip as a family (4 adults 2 kids ages 2 and 5) and our first 3 night stay at Bobbybees. Having read all the reviews on here we were unsure how it would be but we had a fab time! The kids loved all the animals (chickens, geese, guinea fowl, rabbits, guinea pig, miniature pony and Frank the turkey). My 2 year old daughter was obsessed by the Pirate and the boat to play on (a scrapped sailing boat with chairs inside in the spirit of recycle and reuse and a Pirate statue) which were visited hourly.

We arrived around 1:30pm on Sat 2nd June and it was already packed. We had booked 2 non electric pitches as grandparents were coming with a smaller tent. We paid on arrival and were shown to our pitch. Around 6pm they came around in the tractor with wood and campfires (wheel rims on legs, another genius recycle). £3.50 per bag for wood and a bag lasted us all night and a bit of the next. The kids loved having the campfire and roasting marshmallows and so did the adults. Not many places allow campfires these days.

The facilities are limited but we don't want all night cabaret and swimming pools which is why we choose here. The toilets are basic but were mostly clean during our stay.

The Chuck Wagon was open as a bar every night and serving food in mornings as it was a Bank Holiday weekend but we had our own food and beer so we didn't sample it.

The ground was good and flat and drained well after persistent heavy rain. You can park up beside your tent which is handy with kids and a 6 man tent and the site is one way with an exit at the top of the camping field.

The site cleared quite quickly on the Sunday as it rained from 4.30am til later that night. It is very handy for Filey, Bridlington and Scarborough for the usual seaside fun. We found out about Hunmanby Gap too late but will be going there during our next stay as it looks beautiful.

On our last night there was a group of 4 chavs blasting music out and Robert came over very quickly to remind them of the rules. We were reassured that there is zero tolerance of partying so if you want that then this isn't the place for you.

There are signs all over the site reminding you to recycle which isn't a problem as there are bins there for glass and plastic and non-recyclables. There are a few rules but nothing unreasonable to us. We spoke to Robert on our last night who was very friendly and he said he has plenty of regular campers who are more than happy to abide by the rules and he can do without the ones that aren't. We certainly feel that we will be regulars from now on.

£5 per adult per night. Under 5s free. Can't go wrong for those prices. I rate it very highly for everything as we wanted basic camping but if you want luxury toilet blocks then you need to go somewhere else.

We have just come back from Bobbybees after a 4 night stay and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This is our 2nd stay and the place looks a lot tidier apart from the ladies toilet/shower block but this is the other campers who have made a mess and not tidied up after themselves. We were left in peace to set up and Rob the owner is very friendly. The campsite is easy to get to the main resorts of Filey, Brid and Scarboro but far enough away from the hussle and bustle for a quiet break. My only warning is of George the dog! He likes to wander around your tent and steal your shoes if your not quick enough to grab them quick. We are looking forward to coming here again very soon!
