We have just returned from a long weekend at this site.  The field is OK with electric hook-up.  Having said that the electric hook-up is kept in a plastic bag in the hedge and appears to be contrary to any health and safety legislation.  The electric doesn't have any trip switch and you are asked to limit yourselves to 5amp usage, but this doesn't seem to hold, as when more than one unit is using the electric your own seems to give up.
The gents toilets are OK, but are in need of an upgrade.  There is only one shower in the gents block which is in a very poor state of repair.  You need 20p for 2 minutes, and it takes 15 seconds of that to warm up - so be quick.
There is only one shower in the ladies, which gets extremely busy at peak periods (anytime after 7,30-10am),  The owner just opened up two more ladies toilets, but no more showers.  There is only one washing up sink as well so this also gets very busy at peak morning and evening times.
The weekend got very busy with tents and tourers so all the facilities were strained.  On the Saturday there was no water pressure in the toilets so facilities didn't work properly.
There is a breakfast bar that opens in the morning and this then turns in to a pub in the evening.  (no wonder the local pub closed!)  The owner seemed to maximise sales at the weekend by allowing so many people to come to the site but the facilities couldn't cope.
Apart from the electric, showers, toilets and washing facilities the campsite is nice and quiet and really handy for the coast.  Hope he improves the facilities quickly!

The owner of the site, Robert comes across as a friendly, nice to see you owner. His welcome however was very dictatorial. I agree with his vision for recycling but would have preferred a can you please, attitude as opposed to the YOU WILL attitude which we received.
The site is well laid out and I would think on our field there were about 12 units with room for a few more and there were 2 other fields that I could see again will hold about 20 units or so. The facilities were not that brilliant. One shower each for ladies and gents, 3 toilets plus urinals for the guys. The ladies did not fare any better also they could both have done with a regular cleaning and maintenance programme. Ill fitting doors, dodgy lights, the gents did not work for 2 days. He is currently adding more toilet facilities to the ladies area. For £15 a night with EHU I would have expected better facilities. I have been on sites with much better facilities for less money.
Saying that the owner is a grafter, I did not see anyone else working the site, he was running the breakfast bar where you could get bacon, sausage, egg sarnies etc pretty reasonably priced, he was running the recycling and rubbish removal, cleaning the facilities, sometimes, cutting the grass and moving caravans around into storage.
He charges £5 a week for storage and then if you wish to book then it is full price on top, but he will move the caravan into place for you. If you like the site then this is a good option. Don't know if I would visit again, I think there is some work still to do on the site or at least get some assistance to help maintain and clean the facilities. If the site is full, in my opinion, then the facilities would never be able to cope.

I have just returned from this campsite, only to re-book for next week-end!  The site is large, very spacious and fairly flat.  My husband and I choose this campsite due to the many good reviews already posted and was not disappointed.  We went with another family and between us had 5 children aged between 2 and 8 yrs.  We enjoyed touring to nearby attractions including Bridlington and Flamborough Head.  Bridlington South Beach being the nicer beach.  The site owner Rob is a  jolly man and very welcoming.  The village pub has closed but the site will have a liquer licence from the bank holiday week- end.  Rob also has a breakfast shack with decking and chairs.  The roaming chickens and ducks made the experince all the more tranquil.

Hi we are just back from spending two nights at this campsite. The camp site itself is kept very clean and tidy although it is very basic and only one female shower unit , and it was getting used by the men which annoyed me when people were queuing to go outside.
the chickens were great didn't bother you but the turkey frank was a pain and he actually bit me and chased my daughter which is quite scarey for a 3 year old.
the owner of the site does put a lot of hard work in although the tents should be kept away from the caravans and this weekend  caravans were in the tents section.
we had a lovley breakfast at the chuck wagon but it was expensive and the turkey wouldn't leave us alone.

all in all good campsite, would recomend not sure if we will be going back there though.

Have just returned from this site with my family (age range 83 - 40) and have had a great time.  When you drive through the gate you could be forgiven for believing that you had been transported into the set from The Darling Buds of May, I was convinced David Jason was going to pop up from behind a hedge!

The site is lovely with plenty of space for all and nice high hedges provide good shelter for tents.  The owner is great and will deliver a brasserie or barbecue together with dustbin of wood for £3.00 which really made the evenings for us.  You may also hire bikes for full or half days.

The only downside is the toilets and shower as there are only two ladies toilets and one of those is within the only shower, so queues are inevitable.  It didn't particularly bother us, we just used natures own facilities but probably was a little stressful for people with small children.  However, the total charm and relaxing atmosphere of the place more than made up for it.

Just returned from a week's stay at mere farm.  We agree with other reviews that it is quite a chilled out site.  Rob, the owner is very helpful, considering he must be very busy running the site single handed.  Hens and ducks roaming the site was not a problem, just keep your eyes open when visiting toilets, as I found one sitting in the waste bin.

Only downfall is the toilet & showering facilities are quite basic, men's being more basic than ladies

This is a lovely site and very relaxing. The owner is very friendly and will do anything for you, we took 2 children and they were safe at all times. The toilet block/shower are basic but very clean and we had no complaints whatsoever with them.I would recommend this site to people of all ages with or without children.

The nearest town is Bridlington, which to our surprise was very quiet for a bank holiday weekend and I would advise travelling to Scarborough for a better day out.

Have just returned from a Bank Holiday stay at this campsite.   I would highly recommend it.  It is situated in the pretty little village of Burton Fleming.  Unfortunately, the local pub (the Burton Arms) has closed down despite a campaign by the locals to “save our pub”.  On the up side, the very friendly owner, Rob, pointed us in the direction of the “Falling Stone” in nearby Thwing.  This pub is well worth a visit, serving local beer from the Wold Top brewery.
But, anyway, back to the campsite….even though it was a Bank Holiday weekend, there was still plenty of space for kids to run around and play.  Chickens and ducks wander freely around the site, making the eggs that the owner sells “Very Free Range”. If you don’t fancy cooking breakfast on a morning, you can buy Breakfast in a Bun from the owner for £2.  After chatting with him, he is also under negotiations for a license to sell beer on site from the August Bank Holiday. All in all, a great campsite kept clean and tidy.

Excellent , fab, great ,brilliant, campsite what more  can I say .

My son has autism and I havent found a campsite which suits him like this one does. The owner (robert) totally understand how he is and even loans him his wheelbarrow when we go which our son loves.
This site is an all rounder it is great for people with or without children, also the people that visit are very friendly and we have already made a lot of new friends, it is also dog friendly , our two boarder terriers love it .

The toilets and showers have just been improved and are mega clean. Robert also does an excellent breakfast and keeps a well tidy caravan site, you can always find him cutting the grass.  The site is full of ducks, chickens etc which are kept the way nature intended you can also feed them if you like.

Since coming to this caravan site in march 2007 we havent missed a weekend. It is a five star site. Eggs and honey can also be purchased which are yummy

We spend most weekends at this camp site, as we both work long hours during the week, it is the perfect place to chill out. Beautiful picturesque surroundings, the chickens are very friendly although frankfurter the turkey is a bit too friendly with my husband!  Robert the owner is helpful and friendly and he has worked hard throughout the year improving the site, i.e hot water in ladies/mens toilets, also running hot water for campers at the outside sink.
Breakfast is available at the new breakfast shack complete with decking and tables / chairs, sarnies are brill. There is also cycle hire which is good for everyone to cycle round and about the area. B-B-Q to rent also outside heaters / bonfires to keep you warm and cosy Robert has planted lots of trees and shrubs which are all growing steadily around the site This is an ideal site for tents and caravans.
