Second time at this campsite and we will be back. Very quirky site, friendly owner and brilliant location.

Cockerels are a little noisy but we soon got used to them and we were on the quiet area so right in the middle of them all.

Ladies toilets/showers are in grain silos and do get cold but I don't know of many other sites with heated toilets/showers.

I managed to shower in the morning and we had frost on the ground. Costs are 2 minutes for 20p or £1 for 10 minutes.

The Burton Arms in the village is fantastic, very friendly and accommodating staff and the food is just delicious.

We have recommended this site to our friends

We were going to stay here from Saturday night until Monday night the weekend before the queens jubilee, easy enough to find set in a quiet village. The field for the campers was nice and quiet and we were told to pitch where ever we pleased. The owners were very keen on recycling and had good recycling facilities.

The shower and toilet facilities were adequate with a 'keep clean for the next person', unfortunately other visitors don't seem to have the same standards as others and they could have been cleaner. Washing our pots in the sink could have been better as we were told the hot water heater wasn't working and the water was freezing cold.

What ended our trip in a 1 nights stay was George the old black labrador. Early evening we were taking our dog for a stroll around the field I popped back to our tent with the dog behind me, I stepped up out of the tent to find George brushing past me and my dog to the tray of wet dog food in the tent and proceeded to walk out of the tent onto the field with it, I grabbed it from him and told him 'away', he then came back into the tent a couple more times trying to take more food, after pushing him out I zipped the tent up to find him push his nose in between the mat and the tent door forcing his way inside unzipping the door. We had to place all our things inside the zipped sleeping area. Another incident involving my partners soaked plimsoles after George had decided to chew and slava on them was the final straw.

George does his 'rounds' of the campsite all day, going to every family begging for food and it obviously works as we saw people give him food.

We spoke to the owners in the morning and were kindly given a full refund.

The campsite is alright if you don't have a dog with you and you don't mind animals round your tent or them being nosey.

Located in the quiet village of Burton Flemming sited not too far from Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough the site appealed to us as a base for getting to these coastal towns for days out. The pitches for both caravans and tents are clean and well looked after. The owner has a strict recycling policy and there are plenty of bins to keep this up. The owner was very accommodating in letting us arrive and leave at any time on the days we agreed.

However, The constant crowing of the farm cockerel's were just too much for us. This started at around 2:30 am and lasted all day. We knew about the 'free range chickens', but did not really appreciate the impact of the male of the species. This barrage of noise was further impacted by guinea fowl, geese etc.

The showers were very poor and had (even though set at full) hardly any power or heat and cost £1. 00 for 10 minutes. We did not feel the toilets were clean, nor was the washing up area.

A very quirky little site set in the lovely village of Burton Fleming. Well placed for Bridlington only 7 miles away and Filey 9 miles with Scarborough a little further afield.

One of the highlights is all of the farm animals wandering freely around site. Great for kids although for those who are light sleepers, the cockerels can be very noisy!

Facilities are ok but weren't immaculately clean unfortunately. The ladies toilets and showers are in old corn stores and get very, very cold as there is no heating so a brisk shower (£1 for ten minutes) is recommended! The owner serves breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening from 'The Chuck Wagon' - we didn't sample this, preferring instead to go to the Burton Arms pub which was a lovely village pub which did amazing food for reasonable money.

The grass pitches for tourers are not all quite level, so would recommend you take your levelling ramps.

Some may find the owners advice on noise and mandatory recycling a pain but we had no issue, although we did smirk about the amount of notices for the sake of notices on rules that were displayed around site.

Arrived on site for the Easter break. Not a great welcome at the gate due the owner being quite difficult to contact. We finally contacted him via our mobile phone. He instructed us to drive up to the camping field where he would meet us.

We were meeting some friends who were already on site, on booking we requested two pitches beside each other, our requests were granted however, the pitches were extremely tight. We have a large twin axle caravan and the hitch was only 6 inch from the road way, I was quite anxious that someone may hit it while navigating the site.

Fairly run down site but with very good intentions, toilet blocks very outdated and showers adequate. Living on a smallholding myself, the hens and cocks did not bother me but constant crowing from early hours may be a problem to some. The 'rent a fire' idea was good but would have been slightly concerned with fire risks due to everything being so cramped. I cannot understand why we were so crammed in when there was loads of room further up the site.

There was a bar open on bank holiday weekend evenings which served a good quality local ale. Along with breakfast and coffees served in the mornings. All at honest prices.

Local village very nice with a decent pub serving food and real ale. Farm shop/ tea room nice and welcoming with friendly owners.

As a lot of previous reviews suggest, a nice site with an overworked owner. If he employed more staff to aid with the upkeep, this site would be A1.

Would visit the site again for a short break providing we had a larger pitch.

Positives: Lots, great owner, tries very hard everywhere on the site, his staff were really friendly, the one we saw the most was Peter.

Recycling is actively encouraged, it'd be difficult not to as all the bins are there labelled.

You can hire fire pits and are supplied with plenty of wood to use, which is unusual as most sites have banned the use of these now.

There are animals roaming round everywhere which is great, it gave a real sense of being in the country and a good sense of freedom, the free range eggs are lovely

The toilets were cleaned often and had plenty of room, it's unfortunate that the people using them would leave them in a disgusting state, particularly the women's, yet there Rob and Peter were 2/3 times a day cleaning them.

Loved the chuck wagon where you can get a good breakfast butty, a brew and sit round the fire in the evening with a nice drink.

The site was lovely and quiet and a very quirky place to stay.

A quirky site that may not appeal to all. On the positive side its a very relaxed site in a good location the statues and wandering animals are quite different to some more formal sites. We came to this site with two other families unfortunately due to a few problems we won't return. On arrival as mentioned on other reviews it was very disorganized and appeared that they didn't keep a record of our booking. This led to our trailer tent being put on a pitch which turned out to be the parking area of a static caravan which led to confrontation with the owners later in the week. Another problem was that towards the end of our stay the owner decided to scream and shout at my partner and threaten us with eviction over the behaviour of children that weren't even ours! Robert did apologise and blamed this behaviour on him being busy on the farm which he runs as well as the campsite. This is a shame as overall despite the limited facilities this is a great site, quirky, unusual and a very relaxed atmosphere.

Came here with a good idea what to expect and was not disappointed! There are, sadly, few campsite like this in the UK.

Good - Choose your own pitch. Relaxed. Campfire encouraged. Close to coast. Animals. Dark sky. Kids all get together. Rope swings. Amusing stone circle circa 1996.

Bad - Showers/toilets could do with updating but fine for a short stay. Quirky stuff everywhere (good) but too many random pallets etc scattered around.

If you like something different and hate those commercial sites then come here but I would not recommend booking a week without trying a weekend first if you are in any doubt. Didn't see a living soul in the village for the three day stay! Cracking place and we will be back.

P. S. Bring a bag of BBQ coals or similar to keep the fire going. 5 quid for a small bag of pallet wood is poor value and does not last long.

We have used this site before and loved it. This time we decided to have electric hook up for our tent. We were disappointed that instead of the usual £20 per night for the 4 of us, it was actually £30. Making the EHU £10 per night. Now we thought that this was excessive for what you get. Come on now, it wasn't even a proper hook up point. £20 for electric for the weekend. We cant justify it. This is the most we have ever paid. The animals are still nice with the addition of Trigger the pony although he did bite my niece on the stomach so beware.

The owner does nice things like putting soap etc in the loos but just wish he'd refurbish them. Also the loos are in the same room as the shower so if someone is showering or there is a queue it can take an absolute age to get to go to the toilet. We loved the campfire thing first time round but this time we have had to wash everything thoroughly as we brought the smell of bonfires home with us. We've even had to put the tent up to try and air it off.

Just come back from night stay at Bobbybees.

Like everyone says yo are given a list of rules and regulations on arrival and in case you have a poor memory there are plenty of signs to remind you what you can and can't do.

The dogs were able to be kept off the lead so I would note if you are not a dog lover I would avoid this site as the owner has his own dog that wonders the site, he was known to pinch the kids toys and bust a few footballs. Also if you are not a lover of hens, turkeys, geese and other farm animals, this is not the site for you as they run loose.

The toilet facilities aren't great, but I suppose this is reflected in the price. There is only 1 shower for the men and only a couple for the women and cost £1 for 10mins to use, so this can result in queing.

If you are looking for an adult fun time away then not the best place as the campsite is a quiet zone from 10. 30pm, and again there are plenty of signs to remind you of this.

The fire pits are a great idea and are £5 to rent from the site, they will even set them up for you.

Probably wouldn't be put off going again.
