This was our second trip camping, we had booked for 3 nights as it was bank holiday weekend, there was my partner, me and our 2 and a half year old boy. When we first arrived Friday afternoon the site was larger than we thought and there were quite a few tents already there, as the day/evening went on a lot more people started arriving and pitching all over the fields as there were no actual pitches. There were signs up at all the bin areas stating no noise after 10. 30pm and no music! The first night was not so bad as it was raining all night, however we were near to a family that stayed awake until 5am, and consequently kept me and my partner up until then also, the second night however it was dreadful, the noise and music blaring out was awful, none of the rules regarding noise or music were upheld! The noise went on until about 4am, at one point we had someone letting off fireworks and chinese lanterns in a field full of tents! Needless to say we did not stay for our 3rd night, we packed up early and left, and we will not be back, the old saying, you get what you pay for definitely sprung to mind on this camping trip! If you are a large group and wanting to party etc then this is the site for you, but not for a family with small children. The owner was nice and the chuck wagon was nice also and the animals are a nice touch.

Wonderful Bobbybees again. Camping as it should be and a million miles away from the over-sanitised usual.
The owner Robert and Pete were welcoming and helpful. Don't get all offended at the brusque re-cycling lecture you get when you arrive. Everyone gets it and about half of those actually do what's asked of them.
The showers and loos are average and there aren't enough of them but I remember camping in the seventies and by comparison they're luxurious! Try to remember that this is one of the very few sites where you can put yourself where you want and as Robert says if you don't like your neighbour move next to one you do like or find a spot on your own.
He's introduced a dog walk which seemed to be going down well and the usual wonderful collection of animals is a delight. The fire pit hire is great and we bring a sack of wood to top it up as we like to sit out late.
The breakfast is great and reasonable and the beer at night went down a treat at a pound a pint less than our local. The butchers in the village is quite simply one of the best and run by a couple of grand lads. They also sell a lot of local produce but get there early or it goes. They don't open Sundays as they told us they worship at the altar of John Smiths then.
The farm shop next to the campsite was also good. We gave the Post Office-cum-shop a wide berth having been ripped off in there the first time we visited.
The chip shop in Hunmanby is ace and there is a decent Co-op and various other useful shops there. Hunmamby Gap is great if you like big beaches and want to avoid the kiss-me-quick stuff. All in all 10 out of 10 for Mere Farm. It's a long way from perfect and that's exactly why it comes close.

Easy to find, but turned up and no one at reception just a note to find Robb at the chuck wagon? We found the chuck wagon but no Robb. He eventually turned up on his quad bike and pointed us to a nice flat pitch with enough room. The site is in a nice rural location.
There's a tea room/farm shop round the corner which is good and a pub in the village which we did not try but others campers recommended
The price per night. £17. 50 for a small trailer tent and two people with electric hook up, not bad, but and extra £5. 00 for each child per night I thought to be very expensive, when I questioned the amount per child (age 10 and 13) he said he needed to charge that because he has spent a load of money doing up shower blocks etc.
So I expected lovely modern showers and toilets but found grubby, untidy ladies showers and toilets, men’s were the same condition as the ladies but only one shower for the camp site.
All in all expensive for what you get you even have to pay for showers. In need of a good tidy up round the camp, it has a bit of a tatty reclamation yard feel to it with random bits and pieces around the place, and scruffy hand written signs on everything and every where and one even ordering you to recycle or else (I do agree with recycling) but think that a bit over the top.
A cleaner for the toilets and showers would be a bonus as well.

Will definitely return to this site again. Really liked its randomness. Is definitely for the campers who like real camping, although a cup of coffee made for you in the chuck wagon in the morning is a treat.
There are loads of chickens, turkeys and rabbits wandering around and a fab dog called George. There are loads of signs, but to be fair as they say they are written through experience, so if you do as they ask you'll have no hassle.
Particularly liked the toilets in the grain stores, nice touch.

Spent 3 nights here for the bank holiday weekend, with my wife and our 3 young daughters.
First time camping for the children and I don't think we could have found anywhere better.
Robert, the owner, could not have been more helpful, and does everything he can to ensure people have a great time on his site.
The kids loved all the animals, especially the 2 turkeys, which wander everywhere and even just follow you wherever you are going, and George the black labrador, who makes a point of visiting every tent and caravan on site to see if there is any spare food. He also has a tendency to run off with slippers, shoes or cuddly toys, which is very funny, (as long as you're not the one chasing him !)
The only negative point for this site is the shortage of showers for men,but choose your time outside the usual busy times and you will be fine.
All in all highly recommended, and we will definitely be back.

Excellent!
A lovely welcoming clean site with genuine people. We had no problems with this site and will definitely return. Plenty for children to do including looking at a wide variety of animals including the turkeys, young chicks and love birds in the aviary.
Breakfasts are available in the morning from the Chuck Wagon and a variety of beers are available to buy and drink in the 'lounge area'.
This is the only campsite I have been to that allows camp fires, which was a really nice touch especially to roast marshmallows by the fire until the wee small hours. Wood is available to purchase from the campsite so it really is a well thought out site.

Stopped 2 nights here and had a fantastic time, Robert the owner is great, he does breakfast for £2. 25, tea/coffee for a £1. 00, also beers, cold drinks and snacks from his Chuck Wagon, he also put on a TV for the men to watch football.
There are enough toilets (5), 2 of which are shower rooms and the other 3 are like wash rooms. The site is quite big and there is lots of space. Robert is big on the Recycling and you have to follow his rules, i. E Keep it clean, respect other and don't cause trouble and no loud music.
200 Yards away is the little village where there is a Tea Room, Post office, Pub and butchers. 10minutes away is Humanby were there is cash point, spa and your little corner shop.
We would, with out a doubt use this site again it was Fantastic.

We spent May Bank Holiday there. Picturesque village 2 minutes walk down the road, local pub, post office and beautiful church.
If you are wanting pristine, immaculate camping this isn’t for you. Lots of wildlife running around, turkeys, rabbits, chickens etc. The waste water and toilet disposal is in a little pen, so’s to keep out the animals…I think, but unfortunately was rather messy with droppings…wear your wellies. Toilets and showers were ok, but again not the cleanest.
As for George the dog…. Pain in the backside! My dog is very well behaved, and she was (for the first day at least) tethered up when we were outside but George constantly goaded and annoyed her, as he did with every dog tied up outside. I let her have free roam after that, and after she had sorted him out, he never bothered us again. He also was partial to rummaging through bins, especially people with tents.
Don’t get me wrong a lot of people seem to like this site and the owner tries very hard, but he likes to do everything himself and it seems to me, to be too much for one man. It is quirky, and cluttered, and half finished everywhere. Bags of potential though.
We won’t be back.

We spent a weekend at Bobby Bee's recently and it was great. The best part is that I didn't have to stress about or have wardens moaning at me because my extremely well behaved dog isn't on a lead 24/7! She was allowed to just be free and do her own thing.
Really laid back and relaxing. When you arrive you meet Robert and he tells you the Do's and Dont's which must be adhered too and then that's it you are left to have a great weekend.
George, Rob's dog will visit you and pinch your shoes or soft toys and have a play around the field with you. The turkeys can be a bit pesky but they are friendly and will visit you as well.
The ablution blocks are ok, everything works. Showers are operated on a coin/metered system. £1.00 for 10 mins of hot water.
The beach is literally 5 minutes drive and is really lovely.
Overall its a great site, we enjoyed ourselves and will return again.

Enjoyed a lovely bank hol weekend here with a group of friends. We stayed for 2 nights costing us £45 for 2 adults and 2 children dog free! It's slightly more expensive on a bank hol as with most sites!
As we arrived we were met by Robert who told us all the do's and don'ts and to enjoy our stay. We were able to choose our own pitch which we did in the top field, which I must say would benefit from its own toilet/shower block as its quite a trek in the middle of the night in the pitch black. Apparently after a chat to Robert about this plans are afoot to provide this. He's waiting for the water board to install pipes as there's not enough water pressure at the moment to reach the field.
George the dog was great fun to watch as he pinched other campers shoes, I often heard a cry of ohh george as he helped himself to others food. The turkeys were hilarious they took a particular liking to my friend who always got an escort into the toilets! The kids loved them! There are various other animals to see rabbits, guinea pigs, geese, birds!
Toilets were pretty basic but the showers were fine
We were worried the kids would be bored as there wasn't a park but they were more than happy with the tree swings and the open space to kick a ball about, they didn't complain once all weekend!
The chuck wagons breakfast butties were delish and I'm told the local beers served on a evening went down a treat too! The fire pits were a great addition to our stay!
All in all I would highly recommend this quirky friendly site to anyone and will be returning very soon!
