This was our second visit. Nice campsite, friendly owner as all the other reviews have said. The showers are now 20p for 2 minutes. Just one concern, the owners dog, which wanders around the site freely, snapped at a child in our party, 2 days later I was told by another camper that two children had been bitten by the dog! one was taken to hospital. My kids adore dogs and always ask dog owners if they can pet their dogs. As this dog was wandering around freely, I presumed he was friendly enough for the children to stroke! I don't want to put anyone off visiting this pretty little campsite in a quaint little village, just please take care with your children around this dog.

This is second time we've ever been camping, both times its been a nice sunny morning and ended in rain and gales come bed time.
This campsite the perfect place to get away from it all. We were in a tent and on arrival were told to space out as there is plenty of room. The owner did give us a chat about all his rules and regulations which was very amusing! Try to keep your shower time to 30 seconds, use correct loo depending on if you need a wee or a pooh as the toilets are organic! (not sure what you do if you need both!)
The chickens run around the site and the eggs are sold in the farm shop along with local honey. Bacon butties are served on a morning by the owner along with tea and coffee for £1.50. The pub in the village does great food and is only 5 minute walk from site.
Despite the rain, gales and cold we a fun time there and will definatly go back when its garenteed no rain!
The only downfall is the toilets and showers which although clean are very basic.

This was the fist time we have stayed at this site and I have to say it was like going back in time, chickens running free, nice friendly guy called Rob who owns the site and cooks a fab breakfast at weekends.  Will definitely be staying again.  My youngest daughter spent three fantastic days on the beach and feeding Robs free range chickens every morning and evening.  Never tried the local pub but the shop provided the basics, great fish and chip shop in nearby Hunmandby.

Thanks Rob and see you again next month

We have spent a week camping here and had a wonderful time! As all the reviews about this site have said. Rob the owner is the nicest, busiest bloke, he works extremely hard at keeping the site and facilities clean and making guests welcome. He allows barbeque's and campfires and has barbeque's available to borrow. The site and the village are chocolate box pretty. Robs breakfast baps are delicious!
I guess the one little gripe is that the facilities (ladies) has only two toilets and one shower but one of the toilets is in the shower room, so when someone is in the shower there is only 1 toilet. This wasn't too much of a problem during the week, but when the site got very busy at the weekend the ques were quite long! The location of the site is good as several lovely seaside resorts are a short drive away.
We have booked to go again at august bank holiday, and will no doubt become regular visitors here as we love this stretch of coastline.
We have 3 small kids and they wandered around freely on this site the atmosphere was friendly, relaxed and safe.

This was our first visit to this campsite it is very basic but well kept by the owner Rob who is very helpful,
Fresh egg's and honey is on sale at the farm house the hens run about the site so you no the eggs are fresh,
Rob is planning to improve the site but I hope he doesn't spoil it by taking away the quaintness that he has already,
Would recommend this site to anyone we had wonderful time and weather was great all for £7 a night.

This was our second visit to Mere Farm, having stayed here for one night this time last year.

We love this site: the ramshackle farm house and chicken coup, the converted grain store toilets (the gents have now moved to 'Tinkle Cottage', a wooden-clad colonial-style portakabin), the beautiful cultivated hedgerows. The facilities are basic but perfectly adequate. There's plenty of room and good flat pitches. Rob, the owner, opened up his breakfast shack on Sunday morning, cooking up freshly laid free range eggs. Honey from the farm is also available.
Recycling facilities are excellent. There's lots of electrical hook-ups for touring caravans. No hot water for washing up.

Local facilities are limited - the only shop is the village post office which is closed Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
The Burton Arms, a 5 minute walk away, were very welcoming to us and our kids on World Cup quarter final day, and provided good value pub grub. They do cash back - there's no cash machine in the village.

In short, a really enjoyable camping experience on a quirky, no frills site. Rob is very accommodating and friendly, and has plans to improve and extend the facilities to include a cafe and shop. All this within 10 minutes drive of the East Yorkshire coast. We had a great day at the South Beach, Bridlington.

Great stuff!

Fantastic site, with a fantastic host, he made us very welcome and let us get on with it, he was there if you needed anything. Very peaceful site( until 6 chavs turned up and were very noisy but that's just our luck, not the campsites fault) If you like nature and birdlife then this is a must, its ideally located for the coastal resorts of Yorkshire and we will be coming back later in the summer for sure (hopefully find that chippy in the next village).

Never done this type of thing before so all I can say is this is a brill site for couples groups or what ever. There is a local pub two minutes walk away that serves good food the breakfast served by the owner (in chefs whites) must be seen to be believed how professional is that. Bacon butty and a coffee for two quid BRILL (when you have a hang over and cant be bothered) Fab little hens and chicks running around the kids will love it

This was our first visit to Mere farm. We all had a great time. Bobby the owner was friendly and always happy to help. They was lots of space for the kids to run around. They was a good dog walk too. They could do we having more then one shower though, also more toilets. Also not to far to the beach, also Chinese and chippy only 1 mile away in next village. We have been to many sites before but we have to say this is one of the bests around, and for only £7 a night you cant go wrong. Also over the weekend Bobby the owner was doing bacon & egg buns which started the day great. We will be going back this year.

Just got back from an enjoyable long weekend at Mere farm also known as Bobby Bees. This campsite is very different, but great if you are wanting a quiet rural break close to the coast. Our children age 4 and 7 thought the extremely free range chickens were great fun and the vast amount of clean open space to play in was brilliant. So much so we will be spending our spare weekends on the farm.

Facilities

Toilets and shower are basic and clean. One negative point the shower in the female toilet was shared even though it was partitioned off. My wife felt it should be female only.

Electric hook up 5amp only but not a problem.

Elsan point on site and fresh water points.

Bobby Bee the owner puts a lot of hardwork into this site and is a really nice man and very helpful.
