What a fantastic site and I can't believe it's right on my door step
The site is sat a stunning location with fantastic views of Ivinghoe Beacon and the Vale of Aylesbury, the facilities are great with a new shower / toilet block added this year
The site is well suited for kids with a play area, Tennis court, football goal, table tennis table and volley ball net
The owner Charles is fantastic and is always around the site, he also comes around with wood for the fire pits which are great
We only stayed one night but will definitely be back for some longer stays

I went to this campsite with friends and their children for a weekend and found it great.
They have a large playground, tennis courts and plenty of room for the children to run around.
The shops and pubs in the villiage are only a short walk from the site.
Charles and his staff are always about to make sure things are going ok.
This campsite allows you to hire their firepits at a very good rate and we found this great for sitting around during the evening with marshmallows.
The toilets and showers were always clean and they were checked frequently as were the sinks in the washing up area.
There are some lovelly walks in this area and the views are great.
The only downside is the sound of traffic, but this may depend on which field you are in.
My family will definitely be going back there again as will my friend and her children.

This was our first visit to this campsite, we went with my sister and her family who have been many times before and love it. It's easy to see why they go back, it is reasonably priced (£16 per night for 2 adults), has stunning views, is very child friendly and has excellent facilities.
The owner drives round at least twice a day to make sure that you are ok and that you have got enough wood for your evening campfire. I only had one complaint and that is where there were two large groups near us, they pitched in a circle (fair enough) but then they parked their cars in a long line going up the campsite right I front of our pitch so it felt that we were camping in a car park. We spoke to Charles and he asked them to move them on a number of occasions but they never seemed to shift!
There is loads to do in the surrounding area, we visited the natural history museum in Tring which was amazing, we also visited Ashridge (national trust property) and Wendover woods.
There is a medium sized Tesco in Tring which is about 4 miles away, the nearest large town is Aylesbury which is about 9 miles.
Overall, a lovely campsite, with loads to do nearby. We will definitely be going back next year (just not over bank holiday weekend)

Wonderful stay!
We booked about 3 weeks in advance to camp on the bank holiday weekend, and I was glad we did as they got fully booked.
We were given the option to stay on the main site or in the sheep field (their 'overflow', a sheep field adjacent to the main site). We wanted a quieter stay, so we opted for that, and I'm so glad we did. All the facilities of the camp site but with a wilder side to it, and amazing views over the beautiful surrounding hills and farmland. We had uninterrupted views of sunset and dawn from our tent. Plenty of varied activities in the area.
We did Woburn Safari, (although Whipsnade is actually closer to the site), Woburn village, Abbey, deer park & antiques centre, and then Wendover Woods (which also has a Go-Ape). A great re-introduction to the joys of camping for us.

Just returned from a three night stay at Town Farm - I reviewed this back when it very first opened, and I am happy to say my opinion of this as an excellent site remains.
It was so beautifully quiet (stayed Tuesday to Friday) that I had a great break and my daughter and her friend (both teens) really enjoyed playing in the field/tennis and walking up to the Ridgeway for our picnic.
I have been here four times now and will continue to visit as Charles is such a great host, and there is the added bonus of being able to have a fire.
Ivinghoe itself has a great little shop/post office and a cracking pub, the Rose and Crown. Has a nice garden now and dogs/kids welcome. They have new owners and a coffee and delicious cake service from 9. 30am, nice for the whole family. Will try one more trip to Town Farm before the end of the year

Price: £48 for 3 nights for two adults which we thought reasonable.
This is a huge rolling, sloping site that is quite exposed to the elements. Currently there are over 4 acres in total for campers with possibly more fields being added later. The grass is quite long but not excessively so. It just adds that bit of rustic charm to the place. Usually Charles gives us a bit of room between tents but for some reason we were squashed in between two other tents despite the site not being busy.
We were placed at the top of the hill and for two days/nights it was incredibly windy (over 17 mph gusts) which sort of flattened our neighbours tent.
The new shower block is very nice and the water is amazingly hot. Showers are currently free.
The old shower block does have a disabled shower/toilet which makes me wonder if Charles is going to set up some more provision for disabled users in the future. At the moment the site would suitable for those with walking sticks rather than wheel chairs or mobility scooters.
The local village of Tring is a well worth place to visit - the Farm Shop (opposite Tesco) has a marvellous little cafe with all sorts of homemade treats.

We had amazing weather for the 2 nights we stayed, although on the day I was packing to go it got a bit breezy so I imagine it can get a bit windy as it's on a hill.
Really lovely owner, who's really trusting. Comes around with the fire pits and wood. Asks whether you are OK, or need any info. Forgets how long you have stayed and trusts that you will find him and pay!
Great play area for children. Also has tennis court and table tennis.
2 shower/toilet blocks. Always clean. Always had hot water. Despite being fairly busy we never had to queue. The toilets in the field were quite cramped.
Lots of families and firepits! Great views. Brilliant value!

Stayed at Town Farm for 6 nights at the end of July with a large group. There are no electric hook-ups for tents. We were put in the bottom (football) field, which was slightly sloping and nearer to the road than the other fields. The road is very busy for a B road, particularly early morning, and a few of our group had trouble sleeping, so would recommend staying as far away from the road as possible.
As previously mentioned, the owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved the firepit, although we did rack up quite a large bill for the wood, so maybe bring some of your own?
The site has fantastic views of Ivinghoe Beacon, which can be easily reached on foot from the campsite in about 1/2 hour. There are other nice walks, including to Ivinghoe village.
There is no site shop, there are small shops in nearby Ivinghoe and Pitstone or a Tesco in Tring.
There are 2 shower blocks, which were always fairly clean. No queues, but some issues with hot water at busy times. Plenty of washing-up facilities. The site could do with more rubbish skips; there was a large pile of extra bags (next to the washing-up sinks and fridges where people kept food)after the busy weekend, which weren't collected until Wednesday.
The kids loved the playground and the massive field to play football, cricket and bikes in, although the grass really could have been cut more often.
Overall we liked the site, particularly the friendly staff, the informality of the pitches and the firepit. Have marked it down for the road noise, the rubbish and the long grass! Would definitely go back again.

Town Farm is *almost* the perfect campsite for myself and my two boys, aged 3 and 5.
A pleasant, open field where you can choose your own pitch; spacious showers with glorious hot water (beware the washing up sinks - the hot tap is REALLY hot!); and a super play area with wooden climbing frame and a group basket swing.
The location is excellent too, for visiting local attractions, notably Wendover Wood and the Grand Union Canal.
My only negative point is during our stay the wind was blowing quite strongly up the hill, which brought the sound of the road rushing into our ears at night. It was unexpectedly loud and, coupled with the planes heading overhear to Luton Airport, evasive. Perhaps earplugs might be useful - I can't use them myself!
If I were to visit without children, then it might be better to pitch on top of the hill behind the farm buildings, which is out of sight of the play area but might be more sheltered - just ask the ever-helpful owner, Charles, who really does make you feel at home.

Stayed at this site for 3 nights over the first weekend of August.
Very, very impressed.
It's geared towards tents, with only a few EHUs and has an informal pitch where you like policy. Campfires in raised pits allowed. Quiet time at 11:00, respected, but not too rigid.
Charles (owner) was very welcoming on arrival and throughout. Every evening, popping round to check you are OK and ask if you need any more firewood for the evening.
Facilities were very good. Modern, clean, plentiful hot water, covered wash-up. Good quality and new play frame for the kids. Sports field too, with goalposts, tennis court and outdoor tennis table.
The site itself is in a beautiful position, with lovely views of Ivinghoe Beacon or the Valley, depending where you pitch. There's a good local pub that you can reach through the sheep field and nearby Tring has all the shops you could want.
Only negative is that there is no on-site shop, so you do need to plan a little further ahead. It is breezy too, but then again it is on a hill!
All in all, very very good site of those who prefer their camping to be uncomplicated. I would happily recommend to anyone.
