I phoned and spoke with Charles and he was very friendly and asked me to book online. It was £10 per person and £2 for the dog, a great price for a site in such an awesome location. On arrival he showed us where to pitch, offered us use of a fire pit and logs and then left us to it.
This is my second time here and it is pretty much the same as before, huge fields to choose from, decent toilet and shower block, amazing views and tons of space.
The facilities were incredibly clean and tidy and the shower was a push button type but warm and water was plentiful.
There is a couple of pubs around ¾ of a mile away, we enjoyed one for a few beers.
The main reason we visited was for the walking on the Ridgeway and to Ivinghoe Beacon. The walking is incredible and from the bottom of the drive, cross the road and you enter the footpaths leading to the Ridgeway.
We did a fantastic walk taking in Ivinghoe Beacon, then followed the Ridgeway for a bit, turned into Ashridge Woods, saw some sites then continued down to the Gran Union Canal, we then walked up to Tring station and then back along the Ridgeway. This was about 14 miles and a really good walk and not too tiring.
I would visit this site again and this time we stayed two nights to enjoy the walking.

There is no doubt that in the 5 years we have been camping, this is our favourite site.
The views are spectacular with Red Kites swooping in at eye level regularly and sheep grazing in the adjacent field.
The farmer (who is and all round lovely chap) is welcoming and chatty. They allow campfires in pits (which you can bring yourself or hire at the site)and they sell decent quality wood.
There are two very well maintained and serviced toilet blocks with showers and wifi available if you want it.
The site is not overbooked, the owner likes to keep numbers regulated, meaning that even on the nicest of weekends it doesn't feel crammed.
There is no shop, which suits us because we prefer things to be on the uncluttered side. There are two nearby village shops - both pretty much within a mile from the campsite and a supermarket 10 min drive away.
We hope to continue coming again and again because we only live 4 miles away!

What a wonderful find this campsite was.
I cannot recommend it highly enough. The site does not squash people in which was lovely and there was still plenty of space for the children to play.
Site has a no music policy and it must be quiet by 11pm which was perfect for us.
All staff are so welcoming and friendly. Very approachable even if only for a chat.
Facilities are clean and even though we went at a busy bank holiday there seemed to be plenty available.
You can hire a fire pit and buy bags of logs which was perfect for a chilly evening.
Will definitely return - thank you 😀

Had a 2 night break here end of July, very windy site at top of hill with good views.
Facilities were good with plenty of toilets/showers and wash up sinks in 2 separate out buildings.
Plenty of grassed areas for tents, caravans/campervans on hard standing with electric around edge of farm barns, the ground is very gravelly and it didn't look like you would have much room to erect an awning. We had the side with good views, wouldn't want to be around the back looking onto farm buildings/machinery etc.
It is a working farm, we witnessed the sheep being herded through the site from one field to another by the farmer/helper and dogs, rare site!
All of the booking is done on line, we didn't pay the £5 for an awning as I think this too much. Charles the farmer is very friendly and helpful.
Ok for a stop off but not sure I would stay for too long as the caravan area didn't appeal to us other than the views.
Nice walk down fields to country path leading to Pitstone.

This was my second visit to this campsite.
I stayed during a particularly windy couple of days, and saw a couple of tents had suffered damage due to incorrect or inadequate guying. This is an exposed campsite up on the Chilterns so the tips in the 'Coping with wind' sticky need to be employed if the weather is less than kind to you.
The campsite offers firepits for rent, one of the reasons we stayed here. The wood they sell is really good quality kiln dried firewood which burns with little smoke and no sparking.
I found the freezers this time, which helped over our 3 day stay.
There are 2 showerblocks for each gender, however the 'far' block only has one small indoor sink for the gents and the outside sinks have no mirrors or hot water therefore unsuitable for shaving.
The site is ideally located for visits to Whipsnade Zoo and for walking this section of the Ridgeway. The nearby village of Ivinghoe is easily walked to by the bridleway from the campsite, however at the time of my visit both the Kings Head and Rose & Crown were shut at lunchtime.

Very friendly owners, lovely well serviced site including two shower/ toilet blocks (clean at all times of the day) Superb views of ivinghoe beacon & surrounding country side. A fifteen minute walk either to the left or right from the bottom of the property are two very nice pubs serving good food. All services you could wish for in a great site & the price was very competitive for our motorhome inc. Electric hook up!

Perfect stayed here for a week while our eldest son competed at Stoke Mandeville the owners are very friendly and helpful. The site has everything you need great facilities including disabled facilities these are brilliant. I cannot find fault with this site and would happily recommend this site to anyone, if you want a nice site with not to much noise great facilities and great areas for the children to play in then this is the site for you. Access to the local area is easy local places within walking distance and easy access to main routes to get further afield. We will use this site again without hesitation.

We go away every weekend and visited this site unexpectedly as our first choice was full.
What a pleasant surprise. The online booking system was easy to use and very convenient and we were met at the site by a lovely, friendly lady who directed us to our pitch and gave us a quick tour. As it was off season, we could arrive Saturday and stay for one night and the owner was happy for us to leave Sunday afternoon as they weren't busy.
The site has great facilities, with clean, warm and well run toilets and showers and an excellent washing up area. There is also a kids play area which our daughter would have enjoyed if the weather had been better. The site is a bit exposed but for that you get outstanding views of the surrounding countryside and we loved seeing all the fireworks on bonfire night!
There is a short and pleasant walk to the nearby village of Ivinghoe which can be used with a pushchair in tow (as long as it's not the most basic of strollers you'll be fine!). Here you will find some basic shops and a reasonably priced pub, the Rose and Crown.
All in all, a lovely stay. We will be back!

I spent two nights here in a tent on an exposed, windy hillside. Fantastic views across the Vale of Aylesbury to the west. Very quiet in the (Adults)field I was in, especially on the Sunday night as I was on my own. I found the ground in the field very firm, giving a good firm grip on the tent pegs. Also had no problems with the rain as any water drained away very quickly
Msde to feel very welcome on my arrival, I followed the recommendation for a quiet pitch and was not disappointed. Showers and toilets were very clean and modern, and, despite it being a very busy weekend, no queing at the times I used them. Firepits are available for hire with wood and kindling if required.
The site had a lot of families with children staying, with plenty of facilities available for them, but overall a quiet site, especially where I was pitched.
I didn't visit any of the local facilities except for the Indian Restaurant in Eaton Bray which I can highly recommend.
There is some aircraft noise, mostly departures from Heathrow and Luton airports, but it is not intrusive and if, like me, you enjoy watching planes, on a clear day it is possible to see lots of overflights heading in all directions.
The on site Wifi worked occaisionally, but considering how far I had pitched my tent from the main building it was acceptable. Maybe due also to the number of visitors on-site at the same time.
Very friendly and attentive staff, I was made to feel vey welcome at all times and appreciated the check to see if all was okay due to the windy conditions.
I highly recommend a stay here and I will be returning again next year for a longer stay in my new tent.

This is a lovely site, with wide open country views. Well situated, and well signposted. The shower and toilet blocks are very clean and with plenty of hot water, shaver points and power points for the ladies too so my wife tells me.
We stayed during a period of wild thunderstorms and high wind, fortunately only during the night.
This is a nice quiet site where music is discouraged, a bonus for quieter people like ourselves. We picked up local Freeview tv without any trouble, great phone reception, and we also had no problem with our portable WiFi link which gave us a great signal.
The only thing that disappointed, were the large potholes in the entry road into the camping field, under the barrier, and for about 60 or so yards to where we set up, by the electric hook ups. These holes may be fine for the farms tractors and quad
Bike, but could be very damaging (and expensive) for road going vehicles. At night, they are not easily seen or avoided.
We were surprised, because there were big piles of rubble nearby which could easily have been used to fill the worst holes.
A shame, because first impressions count, and those holes are a no no for a return visit.
