Nice location with some beautiful views over the hills, camp fires allowed, great little park for the kids only a short walk to a local pub. What's not to like? well I'll tell you. Being crammed in very close to the neighbouring tents, so close in fact that our guy ropes were almost overlapping, thankfully our neighbours were very friendly, but that's not really the issue, it is slightly unnerving being so close together when almost every tent had a camp fire blazing and I believe also breaking fire regulations. Who wants to be camping so close to other people? The owner was VERY insistent about where everyone pitched and patrolled the site up and down in his land rover pretty much all evening, a nice enough chap but it was a little annoying. Toilet and shower facilities were adequate, clean all evening but the floor in the gents toilet/shower block was filthy with mud by the morning as they had no early morning clean. Its a shame that the owner seems to be trying to squeeze every last shilling out of the camping field, if they reduced the total number of units allowed on the field at any one time, then this site could be an absolute winner.

Just come back with my small daughter, sister & small niece, spending 3 nights at Town Farm. We were welcomed by the owner who said we could pitch we're we wanted as it wasn't busy. The following afternoon (fri) it started to get quite busy. The 3 showers which we're push button & lovely & warm we're always clean, didn't even have to queue when it was busy. Again 3 toilets clean & no queuing.
There's is a great play area in which our daughters loved & as we were pitched opposite we could keep them in sight.
Every morning/evening Charles would drive round checking everything was ok & to see if we needed any logs for our fire.
There is plenty of clean undercover washing up sinks & fridges & freezers.
There is lots to do in the surrounding area.
Ivinghoe Beacon
Ashridge Estate (woods)
Museum in Tring
Wendover woods ( Gruffalo Trail on till Sept)
I'll definitely be coming back to Town Farm as it's only about 45 mins from we're I live & also there is
Plenty to do in the surrounding area come rain or shine.

Just back from a two night stay over the bank holiday. We have stayed here twice now and visited friends on numerous occasions as it is local to us and fantastically placed for anyone wanting a weekend camping in the the Home counties. Facilities are clean but could do with some extra toilets especially as the campsite grows in popularity. We've noticed larger and larger groups attending and the campsite lends itself well for that because there are no marked pitches. The owners organise the site well enough and go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable. The fire pits ablaze at night are a wonderful sight as you walk back from a hot shower. Ivinghoe village is a short walk away with a couple of decent pubs which seem quite popular with cyclists and Tring is a short 15 minute drive away providing all the amenities you would expect from a small town including a great FREE museum.

We stayed at Town Farm over the bank holiday weekend, and were delighted with the site, it was very busy but everyone had plenty of space, no fixed pitch area which we like as we were five tents and a gazebo. The owner was zipping around on his buggy all the time and was most friendly and helpful, the showers were clean and hot, which was great considering how busy it was, occasionally had to queue to use the loo but that's not a problem, washing up area was under cover and again constant hot water, great to be able to hire the fire pits, we wouldn't camp somewhere now if you couldn't have a fire as it's adds so much to our camping experience. The site is exposed in areas and if we visited again over a weekend I would arrive on the Friday night not the Saturday as we did so we could be in a less exposed area, and I would recommend a wind break to help shelter the gas stove.
The location is stunning the views are 360 all round the site, great walking the Ivinghoe Beacon, we didn't get time to investigate much more, but the owner says there's lots more to do, local village with pub, a reservoir and canal. Definitely will be back.

Words cannot begin to describe how welcome we felt. The owner was incredibly welcoming and took great pride in knowing which booking he was dealing with. He organised the site into family and couples sections, so as a couple we were very comfortable in our area. The site is exposed, however it has amazing views from the chilterns and Ivinghoe beacon is within walking distance. The shower blocks were clean, modern and had warm showers. The site itself was very quiet in the evening and during the day. The village of Ivinghoe is a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk away, where you'll find a well stocked shop, tea room and a restaurant.
We would happily stay here again.

I chose Town Farm for my first camping trip of the year and was not disappointed, To start with I booked online which was very hassle free. What first impressed me on arrival was how helpful and informative people were, they could not help enough giving me all the local information and telling me everything I needed to know. The shower blocks were clean and all other facilities were up to scratch with plenty of toilets, washing up facilities, tumble dryer, washing machine etc.
Due to it being the quiet time of year I was practically the only camper in the main field which meant it was very quiet, The views were stunning, I could have watched the sunsets again and again, I am really impressed with the site and I WILL be returning.

The site owner is great guy, and I recommend Town Farm on this basis alone.
However, the campsite is set in beautiful surroundings, suitable for walking, road cycling, mountain biking and more.
The facilities are clean and plentiful. Charles provided fire pits for other customers, and it gave the place a lovely atmosphere on this most gorgeous of March days.

Our stay at Town Farm Campsite in December was at least our third and this is certainly one of the friendliest sites we have ever been on. The owner, aided in no small part by the dogs and his family, welcome guests as if they were good friends and regularly tour the site to have a chat and make sure there are no problems. The whole atmosphere is quite informal, while the high standards are maintained at all times.
There are ample electric hook-ups and a good mix of grass and hardstanding pitching, although the hard, chalky ground gives no problem to pitching on grass. Facilities at the campsite are very good, with two clean, warm toilet and shower blocks, together with a good laundry room and washing up room.
If asked what improvements could be made to the site, then an overhaul of the rather uneven driveway would be nice!
Situated at the foot of The Chilterns, the site gives wonderful views and spectacular sunsets over the Vale of Aylesbury and a walk up to the Ivinghoe Beacon can be accessed directly opposite the site. A Tesco store can be found at Tring, just a few miles away by car.
We shall definitely return to Town Farm on many more occasions and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, peaceful and friendly park.

I've visited this site twice now - on both occasions for short periods when I needed somewhere to stay in the area. However, both times I've been hugely impressed and I'd love to return for a longer stay.
It's a very slick operation - on my second visit I arrived on Friday teatime when clearly there were lots of arrivals. I was greeted on the driveway by a man with a clipboard and a walkie talkie, who asked me if I had any preference as to where I pitched. He said I could either pitch in the main field (where I'd stayed previously), which was close to the facilities but was rather busy with families, or alternatively, I could go on the sheep field which I'd have practically to myself with stunning views. I opted for the latter and was glad I did - the views were even better than I'd found last time on the main field.
After pitching my tent I bumped into a man who I believe is the owner. An absolute gent, as I found last time, who genuinely puts campers first. I've stayed on too many sites that treat campers like an inconvenience - especially farm sites - but the owner is extremely welcoming. He told me the wifi password and I was impressed that I could even access it in my tent in the sheep field. Perfect if the weather turned!
I haven't explored the local area a great deal, although I have found the Ivinghoe Beacon a worthwhile walk. Tesco in Tring is an easy 10 minute drive away and great for the essentials - I agree with another review that a farm shop of some description would be a very worthwhile addition to Town Farm.
The toilets and showers are fine - if you want luxury, don't go camping! But they're clean, and you have plenty of space and hooks (something which a lot of sites have a shortage of in shower cubicles!). It was surprisingly busy when I was there but I never had to wait for a shower.
Overall the site is an absolute gem at a bargain price. If it continues to be as good as this I wish the owner the best of luck and will definitely go out of my way to visit in the future.

Just got back from a three night stay at this lovely site. It was our first visit, chosen as a good midway point to meet up with my cousin and her family, and on the basis of other reviews here. We had a great time!
Toilets and showers were very clean and roomy, and a blocked drain was cleared within 15 minutes of being reported. Only improvement I would suggest is plastic stools or a bench in the showers so that you could sit down to dry your feet and have somewhere to put specs safely. Dishwashing water was nice and hot and freezers are available for ice-blocks, or you can use the fridges.
We were in the first field near the play area and our 4 kids had a great time there, as well as in the bottom field playing football and flying kites. Pitches were fine, though the people who arrived while we were out on Friday pitched so close that their guy-ropes crossed ours. We had great fun toasting marshmallows on the firepit each night, and the views and sunsets were great.
The owner and his team were very friendly and helpful and very visibly present. There was a drama on Sunday morning, when a major water leak meant there was no running water on site, but the team quickly sorted out buckets of water for flushing loos from a new borehole on site to keep everything ticking over. Till we left, they were all constantly refilling buckets and checking things were as good as possible in the circumstances. The team remained cheerful and considerate throughout - an excellent example of customer service.
There are holiday cottages on site, so it would be a great site to come to with non-camping grandparents. We hope to be back soon.
