Lovely site with great facilities, but can get busy at popular times.
There are plenty of toilets, showers and wash basins for teeth brushing at night. I don’t think any of us had to queue at all.
The washing machine and tumble were really useful (a bit sad but I did a bag of washing there so I didn’t have to do it when we got home!)
There is an outside shower which the children loved during the hot days.
The owner was really friendly and happy to help.
We always go for sites with campfires, you can hire the firepit and buy wood from the site at £5 a bag which was reasonable. Brilliant for when it gets chilly in the evening and wonderful for the whole family to sit round toasting marshmallows and making s'mores!
There’s a fridge and freezer which was handy for food and ice blocks, and a good washing up area. There is also a great play area and tennis court for children to make friends and play together.
It did start to get quite busy towards the end of our stay, we were glad to be going as more and more people arrived.
We went to Whipsade Zoo for a day out which was brilliant, expensive but you can use tesco points vouchers for your tickets. We also climbed the beacon which is opposite the site which wasn’t too difficult and great to stand at the top. Also Tring brewery is just down the road (in a car) you can buy a keg of beer, there is a farm shop with local produce and some animals to amuse the children. There is also a Tesco in Tring.
We ate out at The Old Swan in Leighton Buzzard. The food was fantastic, freshly made and delicious, although it was on the pricey side. The children enjoyed playing the play area and the staff were really friendly and helpful. They have a website.
Would definitely recommend Town Farm, it does cost more than average but was worth it.

We've visited around 10 different sites over the past 2 years. We try to go for something that has good reviews and something for the kids to do. Apart from that, we're quite flexible in what we want from a campsite.
That's the background on us, I hope that helps you see the type of campers we are and, perhaps, help you with your opinion of our review.
Views from all areas of the farm are fantastic. The front area of the farm has impressive views of Ivinghoe Beacon, while the other side has views looking down over Bedfordshire - both views truly magnificent.
As many people have commented on previously, the owner's so friendly, almost apologetic in asking for payment!
Fire pits are fantastic, wood reasonably priced when compared to other sites that sell similar amounts.
Playground facilities are good, kept our 2 entertained most the time.
Our only gripe is around the toilet/shower facilities. We found the floor dirty and no mop available to clean them after use.
That said, we stayed when it rained for several days before our arrival and also on our arrival date. As such, the ground was sodden. Added to this, there was a group of approx. 50 French students staying at the same time and it's no wonder they weren't that clean.
A final plus are the several fridge freezers available to store food/drink.
Overall, I'd thoroughly recommend Town Farm.
Wonderful views and location, friendly service, great facilities and fire pits.

Had a lovely stay here with friends. Our first time with caravans. We were met by friendly staff who always seemed available without being intrusive. Gorgeous views, spotless facilities although the sinks are very close to the toilet doors making it a little cramped.
Charles the owner is very friendly and helpful.
Hired a firepit for £5. 00 with a further £5. 00 for bag of logs / kindling / firelighter and this was well worth it.
Beautiful views and lots to do round about, pick your own, Tring Museum, Tring reservoirs, canal boat trips and Ivinghoe Beacon.
Excellent children's playparks and well kept equipment. Plenty of sinks etc for the campers.
Only negative thing (and its not a biggy) was the grass could have been cut a lot shorter to enable us to play football more easily.
Really enjoyed our stay and would go back again.

Just returned from a weekend at Town farm campsite.
I don't think we have had a friendlier welcome, the owner Charles couldn't be more helpful. Fabulous views over Aylesbury vale, Good hard standing pitches, and clean facilities.
The campsite was full as you would expect in the school holidays but was surprisingly quiet, and Charles has a strict no noise after 11pm policy.
The fire pits are a great idea and its a shame more campsites don't do them, there is nothing better than sitting under the stars round an open fire.
We will definitely stay again.

We used this campsite on a stop over to Europe, we received a friendly welcome to what was a really busy campsite. Although there had been quite a bit of rain the facilities were very clean.
We were on hardstanding as were many of the others and space was a bit tight but this could have been down to the poor weather previously.
There was plenty of space for children to play and explore. It was good for our overnight stop.

The setting of this site is really special with tremendous views all around. Charles was very helpful and was constantly around the site trying to ensure everyone enjoyed their stay.
Despite less than great weather, we had a really good weekend stay. The site is spacious enough to allow space for children (and parents) to play ball games without annoying those seeking a quiet getaway.
The informal layout allows a great deal of flexibility for groups travelling together or those seeking their own space. We will definitely be visiting this site again and look forward to enjoying the simplicity and peace of this site.
Charles really is a great host and can't do enough to help! Many thanks

Just visited Town farm with a group of friends for the weekend and thoroughly good time was had by all. The site is very laid back with no marked out pitches just put up your tent where you want (which was brilliant for big groups). The playground was good for kids on the 'quiet' moments where they weren't running around like loonies and both kids and adults enjoyed the tennis court for a quick game. Toilet\Shower facilities were clean and well maintained and showers are FREE, which don't always get included nowadays. Last big plus is the fire pits which can be rented for £5 for your stay plus bags of logs at £5 each (although can go foraging for your own wood. ) does add up if us lots of wood but really good for end getting people literally round camp fire and can cook on it. On negative side, site is slightly exposed so bit windy but nothing major. Will definitely be visiting again!

We have just arrived home from this lovely campsite. The views are spectacular. When we arrived we had the whole site to choose from and chose a spot in the corner opposite the play area as we have 2 young children (which they loved). The toilets were clean and water was hot large showers with 4 hooks, maybe a shelf or plastic chair would of been nice. It was very busy this weekend though still plenty of space so you don't feel hemmed in. Charles was friendly and helpful, as has been said before you can hire fire pits which we will do on our next visit. The only downside is the amount of groups that were there which meant my partner didn't get much sleep Saturday night with one group a little loud until 2. 30am, but that's just the luck of the draw, Charles does his best but cant be up all night and this can happen anywhere. Please don't be put off, this is a lovely site and I imagine a great base for walkers and lots to do in the area for families and I should know we only live 20mins away. We will be returning at evey sunny opportunity. Oh and the sunset WOW !

Very good facilities, the farmer is friendly and accommodating.
Huge pleasure to visit. This farm will be on our map in the future.
Good clean facilities, the best uk facilities so far. Childrens play area.
The family enjoyed this visit in spite of heavy rain during the night.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a visit in the local area. When we arrived it was blowing a gale but Charles suggested the top corner near a disused gate would be a good spot for our bell tent and he was right, it was perfect.
Tucked away in the corner, behind the hedge, we couldn't avoid the wind but found it didn't disturb us and it was handy to have the old gate to lock our trailer up to.
We had superb views across the rolling hills and surrounding fields. There were just a few tents scattered along the hedges and we felt quite isolated in our little corner.
There was plenty of safe space for our toddler to ride his bike around safely while we were pitching the tent and getting set up.
The showers and toilets were immaculate and the toilets were always well stocked with toilet paper. There were designated male/female showers but there were also some family showers in the laundry room, which is always handy when you have two very small children.
We brought our own wood for our wood stove but you can also hire a firepit and purchase wood from Charles. As others have mentioned, Charles does a daily visit to all campers to make sure everyone is happy and has what they need and he's happy to give you the benefit of his local knowledge about the area.
The site is in a good location for local attractions and walking routes and there is a great farm shop with some delicious local produce a few minutes up the road. The 'pick your own' farm would have been fun if we had a longer visit.
We spent Father's Day at Bletchley Park 20min away but now that we've see how much there is for families nearby I am sure we will be back.
