Stayed at this site the weekend of forecast gale force winds. And had a lovely time.
Great site with ample space. The fire pits came in very usefull as was a little cold at night!
I was very impressed by the toilet block which was always imaculate and there was always plenty of hot water.
Lovely little village and had a nice meal in the rose and crown who were very helpful in letting us book and preorders meals for our group and children.
Brilliant site and we shall be returning!
My only negative and its a personal thing. It would be nice to have hook ups for tents but we didn't really miss it!

A great site, easily found on the outskirts of Dunstable / Leighton Buzzard.
The site is situated overlooking Ivinghoe Beacon and due to its location on top of a hill, it can be very windy.
We took a non-ehu pitch along the edge of the field with views of rolling fields for miles and miles.
The small village of Ivinghoe is a short drive away or 15 minutes walk through the fields. A small shop and pub, the Rose and Crown, are in the village and we ate at the pub. Although the food was delicious and with great service, the portions were very small.
You can walk for miles and miles from here, up and down hills, across hills, or venture to Dunstable Downs to watch the gliders, visit the local nature reserves and so much more.
The welcome from the owner was fantastic and friendly and showed us to our pitch, then explained where all the facilities were and offered us the use of a fire pit and sold bags of logs. I don't know the price of the logs as we took our own along.
There are two toilet and shower blocks and both are immaculate and clean and did the job perfectly. Push button showers and you could not control the temp of them, but overall they were fine.
Selection of EHU and no EHU pitches, the NON EHU pitches get the best views.
A playground on site for the kids and acres of space for them to run around and be kids.
We paid £10 for a campervan, with one adult and one child. Great value for money.
Overall a great site and one I will visit again.

The only thing I can say about this campsite is - wish we have discovered it earlier!
Charles had been the most wonderful owner I have ever met. During the bank holiday, regardless of the weather he will always be around the site if you need him.
The weather wasn't in our favour during our stay, however, the hot shower, washing machine and the tumble dryer had definitely helped out walkers like us!
We were being put with the adult (quiet) area with an amazing view! We love every minute of our stay and have already booked to go back again later this month! (just hope the weather will be better this time round!)

Fantastic campsite in an idyllic location. Owner Charles friendly and incredibly helpful. Gave us ideas of where to visit, provided directions, helpful hints of the area and regularly checked with us that we had everything we needed.
We were a party of ten with several tents and cars. This was not an issue and there was ample space over the bank holiday weekend.
The toilet blocks were always clean and tidy (very impressive considering the weather!) and are spacious and modern.
It is possible to hire out fire crates and wood. There was also a fridge on site and a large washing up facility. Plenty of electricity hookups are available and also a well-kept children's playground.
Would thoroughly recommend this campsite.

Welcomed by a very attentive site owner who directed us to our pitch and confirmed that we had another tent arriving later. Charles also expressed concern as to how many people he was expecting this particular weekend and it was here that we realised how inadequate the facilities might be. Camping is a very popular holiday in this harsh financial climate and many people are 'having a go' - which is great, but campsites need to ensure that they are not over populating their facility and this is where this site fell over on this weekend. The owner and his personnel could not have been better at dealing with issues (and they were great fun too), but 2 woefully small toilet blocks/washing up areas could not cope with the number of people on site. Hot water ran out very early and my wife got thoroughly fed up queuing for the basics. In summary; wonderful location, fabulous personnel, clean facilities but totally inadequate for the volume of guests.

What a fabulous place and everyone is so friendly.
We was a group of 8 adults in our party and Charles was very helpful and friendly before and during our stay. He made us feel so welcome on arrival and showed us to our pitch in the 'adult' area and pointed out that it was the best area to watch the sunsets, of which it was.
The views were spectacular, over looking the valley, past the sheep field and you could see the nearest village. Charles showed us where the facilities were and also where the nearest landmarks, places of interest and pubs were.
The weather was against us on the day of arrival and as being on top of the hill we took the brunt of the wind despite our best efforts (although did turn to brilliant hot sunshine for the rest of the weekend). Casualties included 3 tents with varying number of broken poles when trying to erect them and one tent that broke completely, these were 4 to 8 man tents and the only tent to come off best (gaining new guy ropes, etc was the 2 man tent. However, on learning this Charles offered us his tent to use for the weekend as we were one down. Although we didn't need it and just all bunked in together we were so grateful for the offer, its not many places you get that type of service.
Finally pitched we could relax around the open field and around a fire. You are able to hire a fire pit from Charles or bring your own and the same with bags of wood. Wood was £5 per bag and he will buy back any unused bags of wood at the end of your stay if you wished.
People were mainly pitched around the edges of the fields so that there was space in the middle for games, etc and also gave a feeling of space and not being crammed in one area. This was ideal for us when we had our own little mini Olympics competition.
The facilities were excellent. There is a play area with a climbing frame and I think swings for children and there were two blocks of toilets, showers and washing up facilities. One of these blocks facilitated a disabled shower/wc and washing/drying machines as well as an outside shower.
The only thing which would have been nice is on one of the blocks the larger sinks for brushing teeth, etc was outside due to space and if it rained I could see it may be a problem, so maybe a little lean to cover over would suffice. The facilities were always being cleaned when I visited and it was also nice to see fellow campers mopping up spilt water when necessary.
Charles and his colleague were always around the site checking on everyone and was always welcoming for a chat. He had just installed a new system on the showers in one of the blocks for hot water and was always worried if there was enough hot water for everyone. I was fortunate enough to always have a hot shower, but one person in our party only had a luke warm shower.
Although telling Charles that it is not a problem and is not a big thing for us, I mean we are camping (!), he was adamant that he should be providing non stop hot water so that we all can have hot showers. He was also very considerate to me, ensuring that everything was okay as I am pregnant and if there was anything else he could do for me.
In summary, all I can do is sing praises for this site and its owner. A very conscientious, considerate and friendly owner, easy to find, superb facilities and great value for money. I can't wait to camp there again.

We have just spent 2 fantastic nights at Town Farm celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
Charles was wonderfully welcoming and was very happy for us to create a corale of our tents including a large gazebo.
The new shower blocks were great and washing up facilities in the same open barn really good. The use of fridge and freezers very useful when camping without hookup.
The new climbing frame kept my kids occupied beautifully all day.
I cannot praise Town Farm highly enough. It provides a beautiful relaxed environment for a lovely weekend (or longer)!
We will be coming back again and and again and again.

We stayed at this beautiful, scenic site over a May Bank Holiday weekend. We found the Owner to be extremely friendly and helpful, showing us a choice of areas to pitch in as we wished. He later did the rounds with fire wood and fire pits.
The newly constructed toilet and shower facilities are immaculate and well kept, being regularly cleaned, no mean feat on a muddy weekend. The pot wash facilities are well provisioned and under cover and situated next to a bank of fridges and freezers, free to use.
A new children's play area with bark play surface has been constructed which includes slides, basket swing and climbing frame. Our children quickly made friends and whiled away many happy hours here. There is also a football goal, volleyball net and hard tennis court.
The site is located close to Ivinghoe Village which has two attractive pubs, The Rose & Crown and the Kings Head. Both can be reached within about 15 minutes walk using a field path and bridleway that lead out the back of the site. Local shops are a short drive away in Tring.
In the wider area, there are a number of points of interest, including Whipsnade Zoo, Wendover Woods, Ivinghoe Beacon as well as plenty of walking routes and cycling options.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and look forward very much to returning soon.

The toilet facilities have been up dated as promised and are very good. Please make use of the mop provided so they are kept as clean as you found them. There is a covered wash up area with fridges and freezers. Water in the showers and sinks is hot enough but safe.
There are plenty of flat sections and views are great but no windbreaks. (Bring your own). Pegs went in easily and stayed in, Despite torrential downpours the pitch wasn't waterlogged with only a bit of sogginess around the gate. A bit of hardcore in the potholes by the gate wouldn't come amiss if you're reading this Charles. Loads of play space for kids.
Chickens can be cute but their pooh doesn't mix with children and camping so they are no more, but there are plenty of farm shops in the area.
Short walk to the village with pub and off licence.
Some road and plane noise during the day but this dies down at night.

Just spent our 1st night at Town Farm camp site. It's just a 10 minute drive from home but I wanted to make the best of the perfect weather and arrange a surprise overnight trip for my stressed out partner who works most Saturday mornings. I rang Charles, the man in charge, and he was happy to accommodate my late booking despite a busy weekend. He was happy for me to turn up early to set up the gear, before returning later with a surprised boyfriend.
Charles explained the main field was busy & he had space in the sheep field that he plans to develop. I had the choice but was delighted with the spot he had in mind.
All I can say is that it was perfect for us - a beautiful spot, stunning views, peaceful - away from the crowds, and in amongst the sheep & their gorgeous lambs.
Charles and his farm hand where both really friendly & helpful - delivering our fire pit and logs, and dropping by in the evening to make sure we where really happy with our spot.
Although no facilities in our field it is only a short walk to clean loos and shower if you want them.
Plenty of sheep poo to watch out for but not really an issue for us - the benefit of having cute lambs study us and pluck up the courage to edge as close as they dared more than made up for that.
We had an awesome mini trip and only wish we could have stayed longer (though we did get quite an extended stay as I arrived to set up at 10. 30 and we left about 1pm next day - no hurry to get us out at all).
We will definitely go back soon - and we want the same spot in the sheep field! We feel very fortunate to have such a nice site in an awesome location right on our doorstep. Why drive for hours when time is already limited (and petrol is so pricey)
Next time we will also take our bikes and take the bridleway to Ivinghoe Aston for a pub lunch.
