Nice open site with great views of the mountains. Excellent toilet/shower facilities, nice BBQ area with some picnic benches alongside a little river. Our pitch was a premier pitch and the facilities were great, large pitches. Some of the pitches flooded ( even though the management told one couple we warned after a bad night "our pitches are perfect and if you don't like it you can leave". Once an award winner and we can see why just not sure about the warm welcome?

Just returned from a 5 night stay at bryn gloch , Although we stayed over the bank holiday weekend the site did not seem crowded despite being fully booked. The location is as said before breathtaking, set inbetween mountains in an idilic setting. Towns of bedgelert and ffestiniog are nearby and worth a visit. Another 'local' atraction woth visiting is the chip shop in waunfawr , its run by a slightyly excentric italian lady who gives a faulty towers style of service ! The site is v well kept with a team of maintainance men on full attendance , the showers are kept in tip top condition despite the high useage. We stayed on a super pitch , which has its own water and drain , tv reception is q good on a status ariel. This is a site we will deffinately return to anmd one we would Highly recommend , on speaking to fellow campers , many had visited many times befiore.

We were supposed to stay here for five nights, but only managed three due to the terrible weather. It can become extremley wet and windy very quickly.
The site itself is quite spread out. We were on field five and it was quite a trek to the disabled toilets that we required. However, the man in reception was very kind and said we could drive if we wanted too. Given that we informed them of this need when we booked several months ago, were a little disappointed not to have been allocated a pitch closer to them or been informed of the distance at the time of booking. The facilities are reasonably clean, but be aware the shower head in the disabled toilet is fixed. There is also a small step (2") to get in, which combined with the door opening could be tricky for some.
The shop was small and over priced, but major supermarkets are only 10 mins away.
In general this is a nice site, which is very peaceful and boasts stunning scenery. I am sure it would be perfect for some, but it wasn't for us.

Stayed here for a week after reading good reviews on this site & wasn't disapointed, had a fantastic time, only wish we could've stayed longer. The pitches are very spacious, the shower rooms are close by & clean, the showers are the push button ones, but you can press them as many times as you want & they're lovely &warm & loads of room inside for families if needed. The laundry room is good with a seated area if you're waiting for your washing,it's £2 for a wash & the same for a dry. The onsite shop stores the essentials & the staff are friendly & helpful & there's loads of leaflets for things to do. The playground for the kids has a few climbing frames, there was always children playing on it & they seemed happy enough, the site is really big, but all the fields are seperated with hedges so you get the impression it's small, lovely to walk around in the evening & there's a river running along the edge of the site which is really clear & great for the kids with their fishing nets. The nearest pub I would say is about a mile away, but we never went,we were happy at the site in the evening. The nicest site we've ever stayed on & we will definitely be back next year, for longer next time.

The campsite was very clean and spacious. The chap in the office on arrival was very friendly and gave good advice about the area. The shop was stocked with everything you needed. The toilets and showers were lovely and clean with free hot water. The views all around the site were spectacular. We would definitely visit again at some point in the future.

What a FANTASTIC site - flat pitches - sectioned off by natural hedges - surrounded by amazing mountain views, stream running through the site kept my son entertained for hours. Steam train runs alongside the site and 'toots' at the kids! Easy access to many attractions - we visited llanberis and went on the steam train up the mountain - quite expensive but great fun. 15 mins from Caernarfon - local supermarkets including |Morrisons and Tesco, petrol stations close by. On Site shower block on field 5 was wonderfull - always hot water, wash basins in cubicles - kept clean. Washing up facilities fine and adequate - busy holiday time but didn't have to Que to wash up. Laundry facilities good and Tv room great. Lots of local information in the TV room. Staff very friendly. HOWEVER! We did have to end our holiday 3 days early because of high winds. We had 3 days of amazing weather - and then suddenly it changed - tents were wrecked everywhere - there isn't much shelter along the site due to it being so flat. The Wardens helped us to TRY to keep out tent down but in the end the elements won and we gave up and went home - before the tent became unusable! Great place to visit - but beware of weather !

We stayed here on the Bank holiday and although it was full there was plenty of room. We was pitched in field 3 which I would say is more suitable for caravans/motor homes. There were plenty of EHU's and water pipes. The toilets in this field was a portacabin type, but they were kept clean, use the other blocks if you can, they are very good.
There's a very nice dog walking area which goes along the the river. The site has a decent size play area and also a field near the river where they have built a BBQ area for you yo use. Its not very safe to walk off camp as we like to do the roads are narrow and fairly busy.
Overall we had a good time and will go back again .

Just returned from 12 nights on this site - all I can say is brilliant cant fault any aspect of it. We had booked a grassy pitch but were offered a upgrade to a serviced pitch which was hard-standing we didn't take it as we like grass but wish we had as there were some really quiet pitches on field 5 with wonderful views. However we were in field 1 very handy for all amenities and although there are some static caravans around the field they were not a problem. Cleanest loos I have ever come across - free hot water. Good facilities for laundry, pot washing and children's facilities. The views and situation is idyllic -close to Snowdon but also to shops at Caernarfon. Would definitely go back - staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced for facilities.

Very clean site with good facilities which include a little pitch and putt. Unfortunately when we visited during the summer holidays it was very busy and people were pitched on the golf course so it was impossible to play! The shower facilities were excellent and extremely modern and well looked after. Never had to queue for the showers once! The site shop was very small and not particularly well stocked though. Upon arrival we did receive prompt checking in service but the reception was far from warm. When we left we heard another happy camper saying to the man at reception how much he and his family had enjoyed their stay and that they would definitely be returning, but he got no reaction whatsoever from the receptionist who didn't even manage a smile. Maybe he was having an off day? Apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Wales and would also return.

Spent our first trip of the year here and it is a truly beautifully situated site. A pleasant reception and easy (ish) map to our enormous pitch. Not all were as big but we were on a corner so benefited from the extra space. As we were in a folding camper we were put in with the tents on field three. Our pitch had it's own tap and waste water but the nearest Chemical disposal point was a bit of a trek but not too far. Well stocked little shop that wasn't overpriced. Be careful if you're planning on going to the local pub, it's a fairly long walk down an unlit country road which you're better off driving than walking, but worth it, we had a lovely sunday lunch in there and again it wasn't overpriced cos we were tourists. Only a few miles from Rhydd Ddu and the base of Snowdon. Be prepared if you've not done it before. It gets very warm if it's sunny and windy and the weather can turn quite quickly. We started on a bright sunny morning and at some points it got very misty and cool if the wind changed direction. Be prepared if you want to catch the train down instead of walking. It only goes into Llanberis whichi s miles from where you need to be and cost us the best part of £30 just to get down and then another £15 for a taxi to get back to our car on the other side of the mountain. Also the trains will only take you back down if all of the people they brought up weren't going back down again so you may not get a seat. Morrisons is only a few miles away in Caernarfon and the fuel is slightly cheaper there for filling up on the way home. The main toilet and shower blocks were lovely and warm and spotless however the portacabin style block in our field served it's purpose but let the site down even though it was cleaned regulalry and didn't smell, it would have been nice to have a similar facility as the caravans had. Not too much for the kids to do on site but if you're going to that part of Wales your not going for the sort of place that has pools and funfairs on site. If you like peace and quiet, beautiful scenery and walking then this is a great site. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
