We had a 2 night stay at Bryn Gloch. We arrived on site without a booking and were given a hardstanding pitch in field 5, there was a few permanent pitched tourers and a few tents. Pitches are nicely spaced and have hook up, water tap and a drain.
All fields are tree/hedge lined and grass is neatly trimmed. Shower block is on the entry to the field and was very clean and warm. There are 4 decent sized showers and 1 large family/ disabled shower and a hair dryer for those fortunate to have hair :-). There are great views of the mountains, the whole site made us feel relaxed. Site owner very helpful.
The only downside to our break was the weather, obviously out of the hands of the site. The mountains seem to channel the wind, on our second night the wind and rain was very strong and gusty which totally flooded our hardstanding pitch causing the ground to go very soft and every ground peg came loose or came out completely leaving us and a couple of tent campers no option but to pack up during the night.
We will definitely return to Bryn Gloch as it is a great site and well priced at £19 per night for 2 adults and a dog, worth every penny, just pray for the weather when we return

We pre-booked into this beautiful site the week before and didn't know what to expect, but on arriving were extremely happy, the campsite is situated in the middle of mountains and the views are amazing!
We paid for the first 2 nights over the phone and the rest on arrival, it is a very fair price for such a lovely place and we had electric hook up.
We stayed for 6 nights, and were in field 6 which is quite large, but although busy with other campers, was fairly quiet and very relaxing.
The shower and toilet block was clean and warm and the water hot.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the shop sells the bare essentials at reasonable prices, and the bread is locally made which is very nice.
There is barrier system to get into the site which is good for security.
The pub is about a mile away, which is not too bad by car, but if you are walking with children you need to be mindful as there are no paths.
The local chippy is just up the road from the pub and is very nice, the opening times are limited, but there is information about such things in the campsite office.
This site is fantastic to stay and just relax in, or for an excellent base to visit Snowden, camarfon and all of the other wonderful places locally. We would definitely go back.

We had stayed here previously for the May bank holiday when we visited Wales entirely to re - live memories and climb Snowdon. We loved this site so much that we returned for a week long camping holiday with our 5 year old and other family members in August.
The site has excellent facilities which are always immaculate and well maintained. The showers were always hot although a little more water pressure would have been a bonus!
I had read some reviews about the attitude of staff upon arrival but we have never had a problem and found them to be very helpful and welcoming.
The pitch sizes are great. We have a very large Outwell tent and there was still plenty of room without feeling over crowded. The pitches are also very level (or at least the ones we have stayed on were). The only thing to note is that the campsite can get VERY windy but this is due to the hills either side and it did get a little muddy after several days of typical welsh heavy rain but nothing major.
The other bonus we found was that there is a security barrier to the site which is accessable at any time so you don't have to worry about rushing back to the site by a specific time and although there is no 'quiet time' specified at the site, there definitely was never an issue with noise either. We found it to be a peaceful site.
This is always our 1st choice campsite when visiting Snowdonia and will continue to be.

I have stayed at this site several times and I absolutely love it. From the moment we arrived it was a wonderful time. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful.
We booked for three nights but on day three we decided to stay another two nights this was no problem. The security barrier is a nice idea it makes the site a lot more secure.
Our pitch was in field 6 and it was a busy field but not noisy, they site has a strict 10pm noise curfew and it was stuck to.
The facilities on site are great the toilet, shower and wash up block are always clean and tidy and I must have seen them being cleaned two or three times a day.
I would definitely recommend this site and cant wait to go back.

Wow what a great location. You wake up to mountains all around you, a small stream running close by and steam trains at the edge!
Superb location, and close to all the main mountains. Short drive to all local tourist spots.
The site is clean but looks like it does suffer from damp ground judging by the tyre marks all over. Very bust at times and slots allocated on arrival. Shame you can't book a certain slot.
Shower blocks clean but huge queues to get in one. It needs to double the blocks at least.
Don't go to the shop as overprices, there is a large shop at the petrol station about 4 miles away that stocks everything you need at normal prices ( plus the staff there aren't miserable!
Location great though, amenities could be better)

My wife and I stayed here for a quick weekend break as we live less than an hour away and had been to this site over 12 years ago,
What a difference! and for the better too
We were put in field 1, and told to pick a spot, slight slope to this field but not really an issue,
We took a walk around the site only to find a cracking little spot next to the river where the site owners have built 4 purpose made BBQ's, and a couple of picnic benches, simply take your charcoal and burgers and away you go, a really nice spot.
There is a small park for the kids, a football field or play area separated from the campers, plenty of walks, and a well stocked little site shop. There's also a games room for the kids, laundry and drying room,
Could'nt fault toilet and showers always clean, and warm
Take a drive to waunfawr 5 mins up the road and try the little chippe, but be prepared for a proper belly full of food, and very nice too.
Would recommend this site and we will be using it again

Stayed here at May Bank Holiday. Only second time camping. Lovely site and is kept in excellent condition by the staff. Staff always pottering about doing something from litter picking to cleaning.
Staff very approachable and good for advice on sight seeing etc. Site is well maintained and grass areas mowed. We were located at the back of the site near a small river which the kids loved paddling in.
Site has a games room consisting 2 pool tables, video games, fruit machines and free use of their PC for internet access. Several Shower / Toilet/ Washing up buildings around the site which were clean and spacious including free showers and always had hot water for washing up.
Site shop has all the necessity's plus extras including beer, wine, kids gifts/toys, camping gear etc. Excellent location for visiting surrounding areas and excellent mountain views.
Although I did not do any walking, other campers said the walking routes leading from the site are good. Could not find any faults to be honest.

Had a lovely time at this site. We left booking for Easter until far too late and I have to admit at first the higher price put me off. In the end, due to limited availability elsewhere we opted for this site and thank goodness we did.
We came with three children and one dog and are, if honest,a bit fussier than most people but all we can report is positive. To help anyone reading this I've broken this review down to different sections:
1) Cleanliness - a particular bug bear of mine and this site is spotless. Unlike other larger sites which have limited toilets / showers making access difficult or cleanliness a problem this site has several toilet blocks situated across all parts of the site meaning even if the site is busy as it was this warm Easter this was never an issue. They are cleaned regularly.
2) Facilities - if you want a large play area, pool etc then this site will be too quiet for you. If you want a site that will cater for your kids and allow them to play in a safe environment then you won't go wrong with this site. Our kids are all under 10 and made some nice friends.
3) Staff - all the staff are really friendly and helpful. They'll give you advice on where to visit and although the site has poor phone signal there is a wifi signal available at the reception but to be honest we found the fact that there was no phone / internet all the more appealing.
4) pet owners - there is a nice dog walking route on the site that runs along the river. Quite rightly dogs are asked to stay on leads given the young children playing on the site.
5 The area - fantastic - the views from this site are amazing perched between two mountains. There are other popular sites nearer Beddgelert but this site is open so if the sun is out you catch it.
We have stayed on forest sites in Devon and the problem we found was if it rains nothing ever seems to dry out. At night the sky is so clear and dark and the stars so bright it is a sight to behold.
You really won't do wrong coming here and although I know we were lucky with the weather even if it rains there is so much to see in Snowdonia. We'll definitely be going again.

Our first time to Bryn Gloch, we arrived at 6.30pm on the Friday to find the shop/reception unmanned. Due to there being a barrier, we couldn't get access to the site, and it was fortunate that a fellow camper who was walking past knew the code and let us in. Three other couples/families in their vehicles were also waiting to be let in, having been waiting quite some time.
The site itself is very nice, level, with marked out pitches that are generously spaced. A river runs behind the site which the children enjoyed very much, given that we had temperatures in excess of 20degrees which isn't bad at all for April. Plenty of walks from the site and a pleasant, if small, play area for the kids. A highlight a few times each day was the Welsh Highland Railway train going past.
The showers and toilets were clean, although I do have to wonder at the necessity to continuously cut the grass which then of course leads to lots of grass clippings being trailed into the toilet blocks. Showers were included in the cost which was good but they were a little on the chilly side.
The site was quiet when we were there, I can't imagine wanting to be there if it were full though, I would have thought the facilities would struggle.
I would return, but would politely suggest that on a Friday evening, surely the busiest evening of the week, the reception should be open. Some people had travelled a long way and just wanted to get set up and get the tea on!

What a fantastic site, set in beautiful surroundings. Luckily had lovely weather all week so can't comment on this being a windy site as stated on other reviews.
Well kept site, flat pitches, well stocked shop,
Toilets/shower blocks kept very clean even though the site was very busy.
Lovely walks all round the site, brilliant dog walk round near the river. The river was the highlight of the holiday for the kids. It goes all round the edge of the site, lovely clean water ideal for paddling, my kids even saw an otter sat on the bank eating a fish! Loads of great picnic spots and a barby spot right next to the river.
Loads to do round the area (too much for one week!)
Only complaint- could do with another shower/toilet block in the camping area.
Will definitely return.
