A very pleasant campsite with fabulous views over Snowdonia. The facilities are clean and tidy, showers are hot and spacious. Quite far from local amenities however there is a shop on the site which stocks all essentials. Close by car to nearby attractions of Snowden and Caernarfon, which is well worth a visit. I would recommend this site for a short break as the surrounding countryside is beautiful. A relaxing peaceful break.

We had looked forward to staying in this site, but on arrival were let down by the feel of the place, Baring in mind the location felt like one big car park, no access to cycle other than the roads, but worst was yet to come!, at ten pm that night a motorhome arrived next to ours, YES Ten PM. And then between the two motor homes erected a tent, the noise that night was so bad, we left the next morning having paid for four nights.
Best avoid as there was no shortage of sites in the area.

We stopped here on may bank holiday we had never been and it was a last minute find.
It proved to be a bit of a gem! its worth going just for the views!
Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff told us were our pitch was, it was large, flat and grassed.
Shower room was nice, clean and huge. A bit dated but fine.
Kids play area small but entertained them.
A little shop for your basics, but nothing within walking distance off site.
We enjoyed our long weekend and would go again.

We chose Bryn Gloch for its location and having read several good reviews.
What a disappointment it was to us!
Having paid up front £26 per night for a hardstanding pitch (compared to about £15 on CC and C&CC sites during our tour) we arrived and at first were very pleased. Literally dozens of flat, easily accessed CC style pitches to chose from with superb views of Snowdon. Then we found our pitch which was narrow, sloping, covered in sawdust from an adjacent tree which had obviously recently been cut down and impossible to get on without using our mover because of a fence which ran down the side of the site road where we were. The electricity (only 10 amp) tripped twice during our stay and the water in the washroom was tepid at best. The reason we were given this pitch was presumably that the better ones were 'fully serviced' ie had a tap and drain but we were reluctant to pay even more than we had already done.
Just down the road is a pub with ts own micro brewery which does good pub food after a long days walking!
Bryn Gloch has all the qualities to be a really great site in a fantastic location; we thought good customer relations might have been to offer us an upgrade to one of the better pitches, given that the site was virtually empty apart from seasonal vans. But if you want a site right next to Snowdon and are prepared to ay the price this is probably a good choice.

I booked this site as it was close to the path on Snowdon that I planned to walk over the weekend.
Although you read reviews you really are never sure what it will be like until you get there.
Very well sign posted along the road so it wasn't a case of blink and miss the entrance.
The lady at reception was very welcoming and had a giggle with us thinking we were mad for wanting to camp on a weekend where snow had been forecast and the outside temp was already low.
We were given a electric hook up pitch next to the toilet block, the pitch was a great size and really flat, just what you hope for really when camping.
The toilet block was really clean and well kept, showers were nice and warm, although, a little warmer would have been nice, but that's just my preference.
The site had a fair few caravans on the other field but there didn't seem to be any people so can only assume that they are caravans in for the season.
The site is really well location with brilliant views, clean, tidy and quiet
Will be going back again in the next few months for more walking trips
Highly recommended

Stayed here for 1 night after a day walking in the mountains, the campsite is easy to find, but sadly that is the only positive we found from our stay.
Upon arrival we had to telephone to book in as the wardens had a weekend off as 'it was the weekend before the season started' and had to provide our card details over the phone to pay. The main site was closed with a barrier requiring a key code, the pitches being used were in the late arrivals section.
The toilets were next to the reception building and in the same area as the laundry and lounge area. They comprised of 1 toilet and 1 shower in both male and female. As this part of the campsite is straight off the road with no gate or barrier, these, in effect could be public toilets. They were not cleaned whilst we were there and did not look as though they had been cleaned for some time prior to our arrival, the ladies was so bad the gents was used by both of us, so pleased we were only there for one night.
If a campsite is advertised as being open in winter and chosen because of this then it should at least have adequate facilities and have basic usable amenities.
Upon walking round, the rest of the site looked large and spacious, just a shame one of the fields (which looked nice) and a proper toilet block aren't open during winter.

This campsite is in a beautiful location between two mountains with a river running along the bottom of the site. Lovely country walks in all directions immediately from the site. Our children loved walking along the public footpaths amongst the sheep and horses. We also enjoyed fishing on the river. It is a very well maintained campsite, lawns kept immaculate and the wardens John and Kim are very helpful - particularly so when numerous bits fell of our caravan (!) when our seasonal pitch ended and we towed our van off. Our seasonal pitch (no. 89) was very generous as are most of the hard standing pitches. Lots of nice places to visit reasonably nearby, Dinas Dinelle beach not far (20 mins drive) away nor is Cearnarfon (10 mins) or Angelsey (20 mins).
The toilets and facilities are very clean, showers give constant hot water and I never found them too busy. Only few downsides; the wak along roads without a public footpath to the nearest local pub (snowdon view - nice traditional pub but bit pricey) abut a mile away. Couldn't do this safely with our two small children and the children's play area needs updating, not much on there and what is there wasn't particularly inspiring for the children.
As other reviewers have commented, weather here can be very unpredictable but that's the price you pay for being right next to a mountain.
I would recommend this site for an away from it all holiday in very peaceful, stunning scenery. Nice mixed site, families and couples and all seem to get along without any bother. The lower scores I have given are just for the chidrens play area and the walk to the local pub, everything else is very good.

We stayed for a week on this lovely site. The site has lovely views all around it and is ideally situated in North Wales.
We were in the camping field backing on to a lovely stream which the children enjoyed playing in. We had no problem with the wind. The site was quite boggy when we arrived due to rain but quickly dried out.
The site is more geared towards caravanners and the campers are quite a way from the nearest toilet block.
It would be lovely if there was a closer toilet block on the camping field. Beware of the midges which come out when the sun sets.
The pitches are a good size and lots available, the camping field was not overcrowded.
There is lots to do in North Wales and the site is ideally placed as a base.
The pub is about 1. 5 miles away and the chip shop about 2 miles.

A lovely clean site with an excellent dog walk. Many linking footpaths too. We enjoyed the Smoking Jones BBQ food available on Sunday evenings.
Plenty of hot water although lacking in pressure. Children enjoyed the playground - however the younger children did need supervising due to a considerable 'drop' of about 8 feet to one side of the area.
Watch out for the inevitable midges - buy good repellent!

God's wet country!
We had heavy rain and high winds for nearly two weeks! Not the sites fault at all.
On the one sunny warm day we managed a relaxing BBQ and a few sun's rays admiring the wonderful scenery and the peak of Snowdon, that was denied us most of the holiday.
The facilities were immaculately maintained, cleaned at least twice a day. Plenty of hot water and spacious showers.
The warden, John and his wife, were excellent hosts working six days a week in all the bad weather.
We had a fully serviced pitch which was a god send in view of the appalling weather.
A mile up the road is the Snowdonia Parc Tavern, next to Waunfawr station. The Landlady Carmen brews her own beers in a microbrewery. Excellent, as was her food.
The newly extended Welsh Highland Light Railway runs passed field 5 of the site, where our pitch was. Definitely recommend a day out on this train.
Only one thing spoilt Bryn Gloch for us and it wasn't the weather. It was the terrible slate slag flints that had been used on the hardstandings. It can only be described as walking on shards of glass! Razor sharp and in fact I'd say pretty dangerous. Why do people spoil the ship for a ha'peth of tar?
It was a continual trial to keep the flints off the awning and caravan floor. Our shoes and flip flops are still embedded with these flint shards. You walked on them barefoot at your peril. Smooth Shingle doesn't cost that much and would completely change the site for the better.
The on site shop is a bit basic but will see you through if you are stuck. They have a good array of camping bits and newspapers can be ordered daily for a resonable 10p.
Free wifi and use of their computer. Good games room, tv lounge and very reasonable laundry. £3. 00 bought us 45 minutes in the tumble drier. Not bad.
A few midges bit us but then that is to be expected in this terrain, not as bad as the Beddgelert site.
The dog walk was excellent with plenty of poo bins along the way. Although most of the path was flooded that ironically added to the fun for the Springers.
