Welcome was very friendly, and we were pleased with the pitches we were allocated.
The field is lovely and flat, with wonderful views (the power station really doesn't spoil the views - just look the other way!)
Lovely walk along the river from the campsite - didn't venture into the local pub, but it looked nice from the outside.
If you've got small children with you and want a day out can highly recommend Sundown Adventure Land which is only about 3 miles up the road. We spent 5 hours there on the Saturday and only came away because we were too hot and tired to stay any longer.
The facilities were ok - I've seen better and I've seen worse, but they did the job. Shower was nice and hot and free, and there was a free hairdryer - fab.
The only slight mar on the weekend was the noise after the 'curfew'. On the first night a large family group were making a lot of noise way after midnight.
And on the 2nd night a group of 20 teenagers were pitched just along from us and although they were pretty well behaved considering, it wasn't ideal.
We would go back to Trentfield if we were visiting the area.

Wow! This was our first camping trip of this season and our first visit to Trentfield.
A great site - one of the most even pitches we've ever had, in a beautiful location.
We arrived at sunset, but were greeted by an open reception with cheerful staff and a full guide book with really useful information, not a list of rules and regs.
We were in the main field (as we were joining a group with a caravan). Lovely open field without restrictive pitches - plenty of room for kids to play. The flat, nicely kept pitch was great, and even after a weekend of trampling by our party, was mud free.
The facilities were great - plenty of sinks in the pot washing room, free access to a freezer for ice packs and access to a washing machine at a small charge.
The toilets had a couple of large shower rooms with plenty of hot water and ample space to change (a free use of a hairdryer). Everything was kept clean and well stocked. Clearly marked recycling bins were a nice bonus. There were also a couple of family shower rooms next to the toilet block - but, with no queue for a morning shower - we didn't need to use these.
When setting off for a walk along the river, we passed the second camping field - looks equally good, with direct access to the river bank. The walk through to the village and the village itself was lovely, though we didn't get the chance to sample the local pub. There were a nice choice of walks direct from the site listed in the guide book - another nice touch.
All in all, this was a great place to take a toddler - lots of safe space to roam about in and really good access to lots of local attractions. Will definitely be back again in the summer.

WOW, Just come back from our Summer Holidays at Trentfield Farm, and had a fantastic time.
Where do I start… Location. It could not be better, ideal for visiting Lincoln, Nottingham (Although a bit further), Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park and the 2 local towns Newark and Retford both of which have supermarkets etc. Its 5 minutes drive to Sundown Adventureland which is ideal for under 10’s. Clumber Park is about 15 minutes away. Ideal for cycling and walks through the woods.
The site itself is well facilitated with toilets & showers, however, the 2 best bits for us was the family shower rooms, (2 showers and changing area which can be locked), the vending shop which is open 24 hours! This has bread, milk, butter, bacon & BBQ stuff and there is a new washing up room with 7 sinks, the laundry has also been updated with 2 pay washing machines and a tumble drier.
We were in the Rally field which is level, free draining (we had a huge downpour), and has some new electric hook up points, fishing on the River Trent was free and 1 minute walk away. As the web site says do come if you want nature, piece and quiet, and don’t come if you expect a swimming pool and all the trimmings. Other good bits is that there is an area for playing ball games, flying kites etc without affecting anyone else.
On arrival we were given a booklet worthy of a 5* hotel telling us everything from the recycling policy, wildlife walks from the site and even the local dentists phone number, nothing seems to be missed! The Ferry Boat inn pub is 5 minutes walk away where the staff were friendly, but the foods very basic, however, the Eyre arms in the next village was outstanding.
We felt it was a modern site, with really friendly staff, that’s good value, with toilets cleaned every few hours, with good old fashioned campsite values, and would without doubt recommend a holiday here. The web site was informative and not “over sold”, and it did exactly what it said on the tin, 5* for us and we have already rebooked.

Trentfield farm is a lovely quiet site. Has clean modern toilets, showers laundry and washing up facilities. The main field upon which we stayed is large and and has numerous water points and electric hook ups.
We were camping in a a tent for just 3 days and a had a great time. Local facilities in Rampton are good, post office, shop pub etc. Laneham has a good pub too.
We have two small children and visited sundown adventure land just up the road.
Basically for a low cost breakaway for the young family I would recommend the site to anyone.

A little hard to find, but the location alone makes it well worth the visit.Lots of small villages also worth visiting. The local pub,the ferry,is a few minutes walk, its ok,but food is only being served at the weekends, the Eyre pub in Rampton is great, with real ales, about 1/2 hour walk(5 mins in car!)
We had lots of rain which made the grass boggy, we were put in the middle of the field, as the hedged pitches on the edges of the field seemed to be for seasonal pitches, no problems though. The toilets were built from painted breeze blocks, which they attempted to keep clean as best as they could! There was a rally in the next field, singing and playing instruments they had fun in the rain, and were quiet around 10.30 (nice folk).
There is a power station fairly close but you soon forget about it due to the other views left, right, and rear!
The main problems were the chemical wc point, which was a grid over the sewer pipe, surrounded with mud this needs sorting, and the toilets need attention, which I think they may be doing soon. DONT let this put you off! Oh yes, the river fishing is great/relaxing too.

We stayed here for a rally last year, it is a lovely small site located next to the river which was ideal for walks.
The camping field is flat and the staff were friendly.
The shower, toilet and washing up facilities were basic but very clean with plenty of hot water.
There are freezers next to the kitchen area where you can store frozen food and the staff in the office will charge your mobile for you free of charge.

We visited Trentfield in July 2009, what an excellent site! We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed driving into Lincoln, which is only a short drive away. Site facilities - showers and toilets very clean, hairdryer in ladies toilets. Located right near the river with a lovely walk. We are back there again in July 2010 and cannot wait!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site, the staff are lovely and friendly and cannot do enough to please.

Just had a brilliant weekend here on our first ever camping trip with our kids (aged 5 and 3). It was excellent value for money - £25 for two nights. What a bargain! The campsite owner was welcoming and showed us to where we could set up and the pitch was much bigger than I thought it would be. We had loads of space for the tent and for the kids to play ball games in the middle of the field. The atmosphere at the campsite was really relaxed, and everyone respected quiet time after about 11pm.
The facilities were basic but clean. Only one sink for pot washing, so always a queue at busy times but plenty of hot water.
This site is really close to the power station, but as we were in the rally field we didn't even know it was there as it was completely hidden from view. The site could not be better placed for a trip to Sundown Adventureland, which was a great day out for the kids - we were there in five minutes! We tried the local pub (Ferry Boat?) for a Sunday lunch, but they were not yet serving food when we arrived at about 12.30 because the landlord had a late night the night before! Instead we stopped for food at Tuxford Windmill tearoom about 10 mins down the road and this was really lovely. You can pay extra to go inside the windmill which is still working and they use the flour to make the bread for the tearoom every day. Highly recommended.
I would definitely recommend Trentfield campsite and hope to go back soon, maybe with some friends. We enjoyed it so much we are off to Matlock next weekend in the tent!

Stayed here weekend of 19th & 20th nights.
The site itself is clean and positioned right next to the River Trent. The field we were in was flat and spacious and the camping was delightful.
The Toilets were basic but generally clean. The CPD was a drain cover in the grass with a grate above the sewer and a piece of hose connected to a standpipe. This was a painful and horrible experience. The area around the drain needs to be concrete so it can be cleaned down at the very least. There was all sort of 'stuff' around the area I had to stand in to clean the portaloo effectively. And who knows what was on the hosepipe.
I have tried to be honest with my review and hope this helps others and filters back to the site where they can improve the areas mentioned above

Just got back from this site where we had our annual 'PROBEFEST'
What a great site. The rally field was fantastic lovely and level and well cut
John F couldn't have been more helpful rigging up extension leads from the house as we were using a lot of power to run our mobile cafe and the karaoke and generally looking after us
Toilets and showers were kept lovely and clean at all times
Elaine and John the owners were super helpful and I'm pleased to say they will have us back next year
Special thanks goes to Blue's friend whose name I didn't catch but who sent a 4 page text to a guy who got lost with directions.
All in all a fab site in a good location
