What a beautiful site. We stayed here for a long weekend. We were greeted by a lovely couple and was shown to our pitch. We had electric hook up in the rally field. With a hedge behind us which gave shield from the wind. There is a lovely walk along the river trent. My OH would have loved to have wet a line in the trent. The site was really quiet and peaceful especially at night. Which is just what we like. We watched the water skiers on the trent. The only thing was, the site is quite a way from a shop. So had to travel for fresh milk and basic essentials. Although morrisons is only 9 miles away and also morrisons(didnt find morrisons as preferred asda). Along the way we found lots of trust stalls selling things like, eggs, victoria plums, vegetables etc.
Could do with a little shop in the village or on site just for essentials. The toilets and showers are clean and had an hairdryer and plug socket for straighteners. Would go again as the site gave us what we wanted, peace, quiet and countryside.

We stopped here for 2 nights and couldn't find fault.
We were shown onto the field, where we had asked for hookups and were given the choice of several pitches.
We had 2 large family tents and a 3 metre gazebo. We were able to put the gazebo over the hookup and camp either side. This was no problem with the owner.
The showers were clean and comfortable as were the toilets.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The pub at the end of the lane was friendly as well, with the locals not making us feel like typical tourists.
We only used the site as a base for some trips into the surrounding area, but found it well situated as well as nice an peaceful. The kids had plenty of room for footbal etc.
They even had a large freezer with bags of ice-cubes for sale. Perfect to chill that Bacardi and coke after a busy day sightseeing.
We would definitely use this site again.

Loved this site. The owner is very welcoming and didn't charge us for our extra car because I mentioned that we are members of this website! The site is clean and tidy, the toilets and showers were kept very clean.
There are lots of nice walks from the site and good fishing nearby. The site is right next to the river and there were water skiers to watch regulary. The Ferryboat is a short walk away but we didn't sample the food as they don't serve all day. There are no local shops nearby so take everything you need for your first night. Good days out nearby, we took the kids to Sundown and Wetlands waterfowl reserve and would highly recommend both places. We will definitely be returning to this site.

Stayed here in a tent on two occasions. The owner john was very helpful and friendly, and the price to pitch a tent is the lowest I have paid anywhere.
Toilet and shower block were clean and presentable. Set in a quiet village and didnt see any shops so own transport is needed. I would reccomend this site to anyone

Post from John - Owner of Trentfield Farm
Below comments are noted, the toilets & shower areas are having a re-fit over the winter period for 2008. The Elsan issue has been addressed and a new facility for 2008 also. We don't have issues over price, and over 90% of our customer comment cards say were value for money, and over 93 % of our customer cards indicate that they have had a super time. We do try and get customers to address issues whilst they are at the site, and these are dealt with at the time, not months later over the internet! The site will also have some other improvements for 2008, all of which will be found on UKCS!

Arrived at the site Friday evening, and had to wait to be shown to our pitch. The toilets are basic and the shower cubicles are just painted breeze blocks, with the paint peeling and a grey concrete floor with mop and bucket provided The elson toilet emptying place was dirty and smelly. Thought it was pricey at £13.50 per night. Reception was never open during the weekend we were there, despite the fact that on the web site is states that papers are available.
The area is fine with plenty of footpaths, and good cycling. The Ferryboat pub is about 10 mins walk away, you can take dogs and there is also a nice family room.

This campsite was absolutely great, facilities were ok, with lovely powerful showers and clean toilets. We were in an open field with a river behind us so there were lots of mozzies in the area and we suffered with quite a few bites.Oh the joys of camping! Overall though, the site was well maintained, but does not have a shop in the vacinity, the nearest shop is a few miles away, so go prepared! Happy Camping!

Like the advert says easy to find hard to leave, this was our first visit to the site. On arrival we were made very welcome by a member of staff. The site itself was lovely and flat, with water on site and less than 2mins walk to the shower block and toilets, which were very clean and well kept. The river is just a stones throw away so if you like fishing this is ideal, also you can enjoy a lovely walk along the pathways as we did. Only downside we found was poor lighting on rally field, so make sure you take torch, on the whole, yes great site we are going back very soon.

We stayed here during the first Bank Holiday in May, the site itself is clean and basic. The showers / toilet block were always clean and tidy although you did have to queue on occasions for the showers as there were only two of them in each of the blocks. The noise was not an issue after about 10.30pm at night. In general a nice site and we would return if in that area again, only negatives we had was that there was nothing for children in way of a play ground or swings etc and the great big power station that was a blot on the landscape but very nicely lit up in an evening. Regards things to do & see in the area there is loads so no chance of been bored and if you want a meal a lovely walk by the side of the river to the Ferryboat Inn, 10 mins at the most for excellent food suggest booking or going early only downside they don't do meals on a Sunday evening!

We arrived on site on a sunny Thursday afternoon and were guided to our pitch, which was a great size. The toilet and shower facilities were cleaned regularly and were immaculate. The site is very very quiet at night, even the numerous children on site did not disturb the peace and tranquillity! The village of Church Laneham is also very quiet, there is a lovely picnic spot by the river and both pubs (The Butchers Arms and the Ferry Boat) were very welcoming, although we didn't eat at the Ferry Boat so can't comment on the food! We would definitely visit the site again, hopefully in the near future.
